FFS Cup

The winners of our FFS Cup competitions revealed

Gameweek 26 marked the climax of both of our Fantasy Football Scout cup competitions.

We were guaranteed first-time winners in both cups and there were upsets of sorts in the two finals, with the Fantasy managers with the lower overall ranks triumphing.

Public FFS Cup

Man-Chest-Heir F.C is the new champion of our free-to-all FFS Cup, having seen off Get It Inter Ya 67-57 in the final this weekend.

Man-Chest-Heir F.C came into Gameweek 26 ranked 124,414th in the world and despite suffering a small red arrow, still had enough to overcome Get It Inter Ya, who sat just inside the top 1,000 ahead of Saturday’s deadline (981st).

The two finalists ended up calling on two automatic substitutions due to injury, illness and/or rotation, with Marcus Rashford‘s (£7.8m) no-show at Craven Cottage affecting both managers.

Get It Inter Ya drafted in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.1m) to their squad, along with Diogo Jota (£6.0m), but saw the Gabonese forward fail to feature for Arsenal on Saturday due to illness.

The high-ranking finalist also benched Leroy Sane (£9.5m), who Man-Chest-Heir F.C kept hold of and started in Gameweek 26 – only for the German winger to remain an unused substitute in Manchester City’s 6-0 win over Chelsea.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.6m), Paul Pogba (£8.8m), Mohamed Salah (£13.6m) and Raúl Jiménez (£6.8m) were the four playing assets that the two managers shared.

The pair had a similar spread of points in midfield and attack, though the collective haul of Neil Etheridge (£4.7m), Andrew Robertson (£6.8m) and Aymeric Laporte (£5.9m) effectively secured the victory for Man-Chest-Heir F.C.

FFS Members Cup

Jay # becomes the latest winner of our FFS Members Cup, having beaten Jambo17 78-69 in the Gameweek 26 final.

The latter manager came into this weekend ranked an impressive 99th in the world, with his opponent sitting in 59,782nd position.

Both managers took hits in Gameweek 26, with Jay # taking a minus eight to ditch Sane, Richarlison (£6.6m) and Aubameyang in favour of Pogba, Son Heung-min (£8.9m) and Alexandre Lacazette (£9.5m).

Jambo17 shipped out Troy Deeney (£5.9m) and – crucially – Raheem Sterling (£11.3m) in order to buy Son and Jimenez.

Jay # kept hold of Sterling for his 18-point return against Maurizio Sarri’s side, while Jambo17 banked 17 points for Sergio Aguero‘s (£11.5m) hat-trick.

The two managers both benefitted from the points scored by Pogba, Salah, Son, Jimenez and Matt Doherty (£5.4m), with the returns of Lacazette, Robertson and Etheridge effectively handing Jay # his winning margin.

A very well done to both our winners and commiserations to our two losing finalists after such a great run.

The FFS Cup will return for the closing months of the campaign, with details to be announced soon.

Richarlison. Can't believe he sucked so many managers in again after last season blanking from 12-16 and people resolutely holding

wanted to dump Richarlison after i saw the Watford game but too many other fires to put out.
Then yesterday thought about it and if at beginning of season you'd offered me a 6.5m midfielder who was going to score 13-14 goals I'd have bitten your hand off.
Still might hold as a 2 week break might be what Everton need but have to weigh it against terrible home fixtures

Worth checking out the Value (season) list on FPL Transfer page. Leading the way on first page:

      1. GK x 10 (Etheridge, Foster & Fabs top three)
      2. Defs x 15 (usual suspects)
      3. Mids x 3 (Fraser, Brooks & Kante)
      4. Fwds x 2 (Jiménez & Wilson)

There’s your season gems so far right there......

In summary, if you can get your set & forget cheapies right early on, you stand a great chance:

        Etheridge - Foster
        Bamba - Doherty - AWB
        Fraser/Brooks
        Jiménez /Wilson

Fill the rest with rotation of in form premiums......easy street

Jimenez, Doherty both very cheap and nailed. AWB best 4.0 mln player I have ever had. Robertson best value for money player in the game. Wilson until injury, also Fraser. Moreover, their production has been very predictable. They are poor against top six, (exempt encounter with Chelsea), and play well against the rest, so they don't troll you:). As regards to player with higher initial price Pogba and Rashford since OGS took over and Son. Probably, Mendy would fall into that category, but he has been injured to often. Laporte and Luiz (5.5 mln players) also could make the cut.

Why not need 11? Surely it's always better to go with 11 when you can in a GW than not?

Long game is more important than a single GW. I'm hoping closest cash league rival blows his free hit to get 11 as that will be a waste

How many weeks do you have 4-6 players that score 2-3pts? I can live with 10 players instead of an extra 2pts

            • 12 Years

In this case I'm only really talking about draft, easy to get 11 out without hits/chips etc.

I'm good in the main game, I have 11 + 2 on the bench!

Try and get good team for 31, 33? FH 32.

depends on your team and FA cup results

atm I'm opting for the latter. Create a full DGW32 squad and FH in BGW31.
Use 1 or 2 FT to field a squad in BGW33
Use WC in 34 to set team up for the last 5 GWs, with at least one good TC option for DGW35

If you can get 11 starters for gw31 without taking hits it's probably best to free hit in Gw32. As it stands I've only 3 players guaranteed to have games in gw31 so I'll probably free hit then and triple captain in Gw32. A lot depends on whether Wolves and Chelsea progress.

I don't think you'll need the hit mate. Depending on how many Man Utd/Liverpool players you have, the obvious one for me would be "A". Though I think midfielders like F Anderson and Almiron could outscore Pogba this week. Then you could replace with Pogba for the Palace game.
Arsenal have two Europa games before they play Southampton but if I owned Aguero, I'd rather bench him this week to avoid losing any value

Hi all, finally a green arrow but the Holebas YC (and suspension) means i only have 8 players (!) for the bgw. I was planning to take 1 hit to field an XI but will need 2 hits now which i have never taken. Could alternatively play the FH but don't think thats the right approach.

    Fabianski -- Button
Doherty Schindler -- Alonso Digne Holebas
Salah Pogba Son -- Sterling Rich
    Rashford Jimenez -- Kamara

    A: Alonso + Rich + Kamara >> 18.5m (so like Kola + Maddison + Arnie)
    B: Alonso + Rich + Kamara >> 18.5m (so like Maguire + Puncheon + Vardy)
    C: Alonso + Digne + Rich >> 19.2m (so like Maguire + Kola + Fanderson + 1.5m for future)
    D: Alonso + Sterling + Kamara >> 23.1m (so like Lascelles + Fanderson + Auba)

Honestly don't think any of those are worth a -8, What about just Alonso + Rich -> Pereira/Maguire + Anderson for -4?

But then field only 10 players. Every hit is essentially a -2

It is actually very strong for next GW.
        Fab
        Robo Maguire Kolasinac
        Pogba Salah Anderson Son
        Rashford Auba(C) Jimenez

But I always think that and finish up around average

    (Rich, Digne, Aguero)

1 ft, 2.2m in the bank.
