Fantasy Allsvenskan: GW8

Gameweek 7 in Fantasy Allsvenskan provided us with a resurgent IFK Göteborg, an Elfsborg-Norrköping fixture where the attacking sparks of Jonathan Levi (8.1m) and Pawel Cibicki (8.6m) fizzled out and a Hammarby win that ended up not being as dominant as it could have been. We also saw Helsingborg more or less robbed of three points against Djurgården by the linesman.

Helsingborg unlucky not to get the three points

In the first half, Djurgården pressed on and were for large periods of time very threatening. 1-0 to Djurgården came from a brilliant Aslak Fonn Witry (5.2m) cross that Mohamed Buya Turay (9.7m) struggled to make a proper connection to which meant the ball bounced somewhat on Helsingborg defender Anders Randrup (4.5m) and it got noted as an own goal with a Buya assist. More than a bit harsh I would say and owners of the Witry-Buya double up will be 4 points worse off than they probably should have been. Rasmus Jönsson (7.5m) scored the equalizer after the break but should have had a brace as his second goal of the night was incorrectly (by some margin) ruled as offside. Helsingborg also hit the post in the 88th minute and in general ran over a lacklustre Djurgården, who looked a completely different side in the second half.

Tankovic showing signs of consistency

Joint top with Adi Nalic (6.1m) in the midfielder’s charts sits Muamer Tankovic (8.8m) from Hammarby. Against Örebro he ran the show and besides the assist looked threatening throughout. Tankovic also seems to be favoured by the bonus point system and thanks to that (along with 2 goals, 2 assists so far) he has yet to drop below 3 points this season. At the time of writing he sits in 29.4% of the squads, the way things are looking he might be worth getting in soon, as he shows no sign of slowing down.

Things are starting to fall in place for Göteborg

After a few rough seasons, a struggling economy and a rocky start by losing to AFC Eskilstuna, many thought that this would be yet another year of mediocracy for the blue and whites. Coach Poya Asbaghi has elected to put faith in the youngsters and that has (so far) paid off handsomely for them. Besides FFS favourite Benjamin Nygren (6.1m) they also have “Paka” (Patrik Karlsson-Lagemyr, 6.6m) and Giorgi Kharaishvili (8.3m) who are all hitting form. Nygren just recently turned 17, Paka is 22 years old, as is Kharaishvili. Add to that the fact that they have returning golden boot hero Lasse Vibe (8.5m) in their ranks and a season that started out looking like one to forget, might yet go down as a quite memorable for their supporters.

Gameweek preview

Another Friday night deadline, don’t get caught out!

This week I figured I’d try something new and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it, if it’s a good format or not for the gameweek preview?

Captaincy thoughts

Muamer Tankovic will be firmly in our thoughts for the captaincy in GW8 as his consistency along with a favourable matchup against Sirius at home should provide the platform for him to continue his early-season form. From Hammarby strikers Nikola Djurdjic (10.0m) and Vidar Örn Kjartansson (10.0m) also looks likely to be in the points and could be potential captaincy shouts.

Linus Hallenius (10.6m) faces off against a struggling Örebro side and with six goals in seven games, he is possibly the captain of the week. Paulinho (12.1m) is pretty much always an option but this week away to Östersund might not be the best time if you have other options in your squad. It’s worth noting however that Östersund keeper Aly Keita (5.5m) might not feature, not that Sixten Mohlin (4.4m) made a bad impression against Kalmar in GW7, saving a penalty and getting 9 points.

Malmö at home to Elfsborg might also be a place to look, with Arnór Ingvi Traustason (8.8m) looking like the most consistent option right now. A brief mention of Markus Rosenberg (10.0m) should also be in order here as he scored a brace in GW7 and would have had a hattrick, had he not missed that penalty. As it were, the penalty miss (along with a yellow card) made sure he netted a quite poor total of 7 points for his brace.

Teams to watch

Hammarby’s fixture at home to Sirius along with their upturn in form has put them firmly in the “teams to watch” category. Now they’ve got three games at home in the next four and could be primed for points. Their defence bar possibly Simon Sandberg (5.2m) remains very iffy and most investment should be in their attacking players.

Göteborg travel to Norrköping who hasn’t started the season of that well with 1 win, 5 draws and 1 loss. Can Göteborg keep their attacking momentum going? When (if ever) are Norrköping going to kick into gear this season?

AFC Eskilstuna plays against Falkenberg at home and will be gearing for only their second win of the season. They’ve played some good football so far (mostly at home) and away games against Hammarby, Häcken and AIK hasn’t been the easiest of starts. Consider Adi Nalic (6.1m), Kadir Hodzic (4.6m) and everyone’s favourite enabler (who’s fit again!) will be pushing for a start – Gustav Jarl (4.0m).

Tricky fixture of the week

There is another Stockholm derby on Sunday as Djurgården tries to best local rivals AIK. Neither team has impressed that much but these games tend to be a bit cagey and the last games between them have ended 0-0, 2-0, 1-1, 0-1, 0-3 and 2-0 where AIK has won 4, 2 draws and Djurgården without a win. Djurgården hasn’t won against AIK since 2011, despite the teams squaring off 14 times since then. Important Djurgården defender Erik Berg (6.2m) is suspended but the bigger picture here is that it’s a really tough one to call, with a slight advantage to AIK who usually does well in derbies and in particular against Djurgården.

So, what are your plans for GW8?

Who do you think will go big and who is best avoided?

Do you think history repeats itself in the derby or can Djurgården capitalise on AIKs torrid start offensively?

    Great article again, thanks!

Saving a FT this week, just seen Danielsson a doubt so rejigged the team a bit to give :

    Joelsson
    Sundgren Bengtsson Blomqvist
    Saeid Nalic Tankovic Thorarinsson
    Hallenius (c) Haglund Jeremejeff

    Hansson, Danielsson, Karlsson, Persson

Any thoughts on Thorarinsson minutes and Danielsson injury doubt?

      Cheers!
Looks solid. Thorarinsson should be back, he was pulled out of the squad in the last minute as a precaution last time around but is now back and fully fit: https://www.nt.se/sport/ifk-norrkoping/ifk-beskedet-nu-ar-jag-fullt-frisk-om6097642.aspx

      Danielsson trained today: https://www.expressen.se/sport/fotboll/allsvenskan/kaptenen-klart-att-jag-vill-spela-mot-aik/
but they will make a late fitness call on him tomorrow (post-deadline...). Is that Per Karlsson from AIK on your bench or who is it? 🙂 If it is I think on balance I'd still play him over Blomqvist but I get the reasoning. Actually to be honest I'd probably play Danielsson over Blomqvist and just hope he plays, don't think he subs on if he doesn't start.

Dont fancy a Sundsvall CS home v Orebro?

My other idea is to switch to 4-3-3 and bench Saeid, then play Sundgren Karlsson Danielsson Blomqvist. Double Sirius too much away to Hammarby?

I just don't fancy Sundsvall defence in general and can see a 3-1 kind of scoreline, as bad as Örebro has been (and they've been really bad...) they've still scored in every game bar one so far (Djurgården at home in GW2).

My dear Hammarby can't defend I'm afraid and we're also missing our regular CB Fenger, I'd say goals on both ends far from unlikely. Haglund played for a while for Hammarby as well so wouldn't be too surprised to see him on the scoresheet, Saeid I don't really trust as a fantasy player but given the state of our defence, he might still knick something 🙂

I also like these articles, but in this current one I'm no fan of the narrative that Helsingborg was "robbed" by the referee and that a GOAL was disallowed. The flag goes up immedietly, the signal comes long before Jönsson finishes and it's obvious that the keeper makes no serious attempt to save the ball. One can only speculate how the defenders and keeper would have reacted if the game wasn't already stopped.

Looked at the situation again and it's true the flag goes up early, the whistle is also somewhat early. The defenders I feel are still going for it and you're right that the keeper doesn't make much of an effort, but Jönsson is still pretty much one on one with the keeper, if not denied a goal than at the very least a very decent one on one situation that's likely to result in a goal 😉 🙂 https://www.fotbollskanalen.se/video/11982770/hojdpunkter-hif-blast-pa-segern-mot-djurgarden--efter-offsidemiss/

Thanks for the article, it's great.

I am in a good position in rankings (although I used my WC) but need to get some DGW players from now on, in addition to Vindheim, Christiansen, and Antonsson. They do not look like the correct choices from Malmo unfortunately but don't want to waste transfers.

Probably going Jeremejeff > Hallenius (K) and Ring > Max Svensson. I don't like Hallenius's fixtures at all but I guess he is close to being essential.

      Thanks mate! 🙂

I have no idea about the prospects of Max Svensson but do you need the money for Hallenius, is that why you're considering that transfer? How's the rest of the squad? Depending on structure and cash I might have an interesting diff for you to consider instead of Svensson 🙂

I think that the next two fixtures for Hallenius are pretty good, then Norrköping away which isn't great but then DGW!

Thanks! Svensson's stats look OK given he had limited time but if he continues getting minutes I think he might be a good pick. Although I wish I didn't bring him in already because looks like I will be benching him.

I only had 6.7 to replace Ring, so I went with him. Who did you have in mind?

        Linner - Joelsson
        Vindheim - Andersson - Danielsson - Sandberg - Odilon
        Christiansen - Tankovic - Nalic - Svensson - Jarl
        Antonsson - Hallenius - Nygren

This is my squad at the moment. Could have been better but not so bad, I think. A bit defense heavy.

Ah alright, I was thinking of either Khalili (7.0m) or Bojanic (6.9m) from Hammarby, both low owned and could do well in the next couple of GWs!

I think the squad looks good, and I'd probably also bench Svensson this week in your situation.
Heads up with Odilon though, he might get some more gametime before the summer break (possibly) but he's been sold to Club Brügge so will be gone soon 🙂

I actually had a look at Khalili but I could not afford him, and also I already have 3 Hammarby players! I saw the news regarding Odilon, and if he starts getting minutes it might be an incentive to sell Sandberg, actually.

I also need to choose between two captains and Attack Attack in DGW11, but I am leaning towards two Captains at the moment.

Ah too bad about Khalili, he was superb for Norrköping a reaaaally long time ago but has been a bit crap for Hammarby. Now he's at least starting to do something, so that's good! 😉
Yeah Odilon might get some minutes right now but given that he's leaving at the start of June I'd try to get him out long term 🙂

I'm also leaning towards two captains in DGW11, probably Hallenius and Traustasson/Rieks on current form.

I guess it's a bit too late now, but I don't really see the use for any more DGW-players than 3 from Malmö. Sundsvall got AIK and Malmö in DGW11, probably can't get a worse DGW than that. Djurgården have superb fixtures coming up, and Ring is usually great for bonus points and attacking return. Best of luck with your choices though!

Yeah, I am actually with you on that one but I guess I still want to play it safe and just bring in Hallenius, at least for the next two fixtures.

Just read people are considering park the bus in GW10 and it indeed looks intriguing, but it's too late for me to plan for that now.

Congrats on Tankovic (C) by the way, I did the same and moved inside top 150!

I think the transfer in itself (even for a hit) is worth it. Personally, I think it's very tight between Hallenius and Tankovic for the captaincy, I have both and will be going with Tankovic - think he'll get 12+ points this GW. Hallenius in general a good shout at the moment.

Constantly putting out fires here, Gerzic turned out to be a good pick last week but now Batanero, Levi, Danielsson are all doubts, I'm getting bored of my Hammarby GK duo especially after Curci got subbed the other week. Think it's wildcard time to prepare for DGWs and get more DIF and IFK players

Hammarby have a terrible defence unfortunately so I'd probably stay well clear of anyone besides Sandberg.

Wildcarded in time although I've ended up with fewer DIF players than before. Backing Jordan Larsson over Nygren; even if it doesn't work out there's a DGW to be had.

            Eskilinen
            Bengtsson, Sundgren, Hodzic
            Berg, Andersen, Nalic (K), Traustason
            Larsson, Buya Turay, Hallenius

            Joelsson; Jarl, Mets, Wernersson

Feeling guilty binning Jeremejeff, Cibicki and Levi who have got me to a solid 5.7k but feels good to have Hallenius again

Enjoyed reading the article again. 🙂

I've known Tankovic from his time here at AZ Alkmaar and liked him as a player, although he never really got into the starting XI. Owned him last year at some point, started with him this season, transferred him out on my wildcard, but got him back in this week and.....

I gave Mr Tankovic the armband as well! Consistent returns and a good fixture. Not a fan of captaining someone in the early kick-off, although I realize that's mainly a psychological thing, haha. Bit scared of Hallenius and would've loved owning him this gameweek if his price wasn't so high, but I have Sema as Sundsvall cover should there be a points explosion, lol.

Christensen is one I"m eyeing up for the double, but his price puts me off a bit, particularly as he doesn't seem to haul, which is kinda what you're looking for when paying over 10m. Meltens, could you enlighten me a bit on how Malmo generally set up? For example, where does Rieks play? Is he a midfielder or wing-back? Traustaton better option perhaps?

AIK defenders may not have delivered the points we all expected, but I'm keeping both! If they don't keep a clean sheet, there's always a very good chance of a goal (Sundgren) or bonus (Mets).

My plan is to park the bus in Gameweek 10. 🙂

I used to work with a bloke that knew him since they were kids, they also played in the same team for a while. Tankovic is in his eyes (this was like two seasons ago) a great player but he's struggled a bit with the mental side of things, arrogance and such. I think he seems to have found a place to flaunt it! 🙂 2 goals so far and a confimation from himself in half-time interview that he takes pens this season.

Rieks plays as a wingback but the wingbacks in Malmö are quite attacking, pretty much mids. It's a steep price for him but I think he'll be worth it. Traustasson plays more centrally although he drifts wide and every game I've seen so far he's been very involved! He also used to be a fantastic points-player for Norrköping in 2015 (7 goals, 11 assists in 29 games). Christensen is good for bonus and on a lot of set-pieces but doesn't quite seem to get forwards as much as you'd expect so far... I wouldn't rule it out that he goes big in a DGW though 🙂

My plan is also to park the bus in GW10, currently would have Sandberg, Mets, Dimitriadis, Witry and Hodzic.

            Thanks!

Think I'm gonna get Traustason as my Malmo mid and maybe even a second Malmo defender alongside Bengtsson. After all, defenders are the ones that usually score big in double gameweeks. 😉

                Yep! He's the one.

Besides the potential for clean sheets, I also looked at the underlying stats as he sits joint-third for key passes (7) and joint-second for big chances created (2) among defenders.

It's all about picking the players that pick up a lot of bonus. 🙂

Yeah definitely, as we saw with Tankovic today who also managed 3 bonus. Mids and defs do pick them up more frequently than strikes, where it’s more just goals and assists.

I’ve got Traustason and Rieks, will get a Malmö defender in for the dgw.

After Paulinho's penalty miss last GW, I'm really happy that Tankovic delivered. 🙂

For a while it looked like Djurdjic was set to take it. Didn't seem to be much of an argument between them though, which is good.

Wow, just checked and I went from 14K to 7K tonight!

Gameweek rank of 2K suggests a LOT of people captained Tankovic.

The confirmation regarding pens is a welcome bonus. 🙂

Wildcarded last week and was all set to save my transfer this week. Was so afraid of going without Hammarby players so made a rather late decision to bring in Tankovic for Rieks and put the armband on Tankovic. Did the same thing with Cibicki against Örebro which got me 20p that GW, so I might just stick with that tactic. It's gotten me into the topp 200 now 🙂

My plan was for Tankovic to be a two gameweek punt, to bring Rieks back in against Kalmar in GW10 and then play "Två kaptener" with Rieks and Traustason in DGW 11. Will probably have to reconsider that now because Tankovic looks like a keeper. Might try to bring Rieks in for someone els instead, or just play "Två kaptener" with Bengtsson and Traustason instead.

Most difficult decision of the weekend was to predict the derby with Mets, Karlsson and Witry in my squad. Changed back and forward a few times but ended up playing both Mets and Karlsson, benching Cibicki. Djurgården might miss both Danielsson and Berg which will make it difficult to keep a clean sheet (even against AIK), while AIK have the ability to close down any team in the league. And even if they concede a goal, both Mets and Karlsson should be good for bonus in a game like this.

          Very nice rank!
I’m looking at “två kaptener” with Hallenius and either Rieks or Traustason the way things are right now for the DGW. Parkera bussen gw10.

That sounds like an excellent plan! Never thought about the idea of having Hallenius as one of two captains in DGW11, was so focused on my Malmö players. Not sure I have the guts to do that though. "Parkera bussen" in GW10 is still my plan, but Andersson being benched today is really bad news. Hopefully it's just rotation and he's got his rest for next week. Plan to have a transfer saved just incase any of my defenders might miss out (Mets on two yellow cards). Switching Rieks to Tankovic has given my some spare cash and an extra Malmö spot in my team, should I decide to doubble up on theire defence for GW10.

I mean Hallenius fixtures aren’t great in the DGW but would you really put it past him to score 2+ goals over two fixtures? I think it’s worth the gamble 🙂

Andersson must surely be a rest thing purely, I’d imagine he plays going forward.

The 3 YC-suspension thing is very annoying in Allsvenskan, but it’s good to do like you do and just plan for it!

Depends on if you captained Hallenius? That could still pay off, and Hallenius next fixture is great as well. Also a DGW coming up, and his quality is undoubtable. Do you have any other coverage from Häcken?

Didn't captain Hallenius, as I went with Tankovic for the captaincy (which sure paid off!). Have Abrahamsson and Paulinho (suspended now of course) as Häcken coverage.

That's my plan as well. Rotation could happen, but it doesn't bother me since it could happen at any time of the season so to me there's no point worrying about it.

Looking at my defence, logicly the risk should be small. Bengtsson is still the only fit CB at Malmö, Witry has already been out of play for a few weeks so he should be fresh. Adam Andersson got his rest last GW, and the AIK defence is so solid it would be strange of Norling to start messing with it at this point. I'm more worried about what could happen this weekend in terms of injuries and suspensions. For that reason, I'm saving my transfer this week to have 2ft ahead of my PTB chip.

My defence currently is Sundgren, Karlsson, Danielsson, Bengtsson and thinking of transferring Witry in next week to make it 5.

I think they're all okay providing Danielsson makes a return.

I'm wildcarding in GW11 so cant play a chip there, and the only clubs with doubles in 13 are AIK & Norrkopping, so rather stick to a single week with good fixtures.

Also, dont want to limit my WC side to include players for a chip in GW13 (fixtures arent that great in 13 either)

Any specific reason that you'll wait for GW11 with your wildcard? You don't feel it's a bit risky to wildcard, have the team for 2 gameweeks and then a month long break where players could get injuried, sold etc.?

That's my plan as well. Currently looking at having 3 x Malmö in DGW11, using my "Två kaptener" on Rieks and Bengtsson/Traustason. Will then hopefully have 5 players for DGW 13, that could change however, since there's the summer break between GW12 and GW13. Only annoying thing is I feel I have to stick with Jordan Larsson until then, missing out on all the points from the Göteborg strikers 🙁

Yes, my defence for GW10 is:

              Karlsson (Falkenberg h)
              Mets (Falkenberg h)
              Bengtsson (Kalmar h)
              Andersson (Sirius a)
              Witry (Elfsborg h)

I brought these players in on Wildcard in GW7 planning for PTB in GW10. Througout the season, I don't think I could ever get a better opportunity to play that chip. It could go all wrong of course, and there will defenitly be gamweeks where my defence gets a higher score than in GW10, but you never know that before the games are played.

Did concider swapping Witry for Dimitriadis but that would probably be putting too many eggs in one basket, and I also want to keep Witry so I'll just hope for attacking returns since a clean sheet looks unlikely.

Looking forward to when GW10 is over. I've invested heavily in my defence and after GW10 I can finally downgrade one or two players to free up some cash.

                Karlsson ( FFF home)
                Bengtsson ( Kalmar home)

I then want to get Witry in, but not sure on doubling up on Djugarden. I might take a hit to get in Andersson from Hacken and change Danielsson to Witry to get a higher ceiling

Allsvenskan Fantasy: GW 9 CS odds

Busy times in Allsvenskan sees another GW tonight just as the previous one closed curtains yesterday. While rotation might step into action on a larger scale for the first time this season, a few attractive match ups stand out from a Fantasy perspective in my opinion:

              - Elfsborg facing AFC at home should mean points for Cibicki (8.7) and Levi (8.0).
              - Häcken’s home encounter to Kalmar (although Paulinho (12.1) is suspended and Kalmar are not that easy to break down). Jeremejeff (9.5) and the rested Andersson (6.4) are obvious picks.
              - Hammarby at home to Östersund could be another haul for Tankovic (8.9) and possibilities for Kjartansson (10.0) to score.
              - Sundsvall away to a Sirius side that has shipped 10 in the last 3 could mean goals for Hallenius (10.7), although Sundsvall have struggled a bit too lately.

These picks are also backed by the bookies, looking at clean sheet probabilities for GW9. AFC, Östersund, Kalmar all sit bottom for expected clean sheets whereas Sirius face somewhat better odds of keeping Sundsvall out.

Given both form and fixtures, Cibicki, Jeremejeff and Tankovic look the most appealing captaincy options. I’m personally going Cibicki with Tankovic VC, although I don’t own Jeremejeff. What are your thoughts on the best picks this week?

I've transferred in Elyounoussi & Cibicki for Haglund & Hallenius.

Will probably captain Cibicki and Jeremejeff VC :

                Joelsson
                Sundgren Karlsson Danielsson Bengtsson
                Tankovic Thorarinsson Saeid
                Cibicki (c) Jeremejeff (vc) Elyounoussi

Very nice! I have continued faith in Tankovi(C) 🙂 Hallenius VC.
I agree with the listed options and also think Buya Turay against a struggling Falkenberg side could be good! I most certainly won't be benching Witry again...

Tankovic (C) again for me. I thought about doing Antonsson > Cibicki but not sure about it.

Malmo striker rotation worries me, so I am thinking about going 1 defender + 2 midfielders for the Malmo DGW. That's why I thought about taking Antonsson out and getting Cibicki. But Cibicki's fixtures are not very easy after this one. I'll end up banking the FT, probably.

What do we think is the optimal chip for the DGW11 here? Fixtures are really easy for Malmo but they have striker rotation and with this midweek GW it's likely they will rotate. They will also rotate for the DGW, considering they have fixtures on 25, 28 May and 2 June.

This makes me ignore Attack Attack, honestly. Leaves me with Two captains (would rather not waste Park the Bus in DGW11). Are Christiansen and Rieks/Traustason worth the chip? My thinking is that at least they have a better chance of starting both games, and with Rieks and Christiansen you are looking at at least 4-5 points per game (easy fixtures mean CS point, and they both are great at attacking and defending bonuses). Even without any attacking returns that means 20*2 points from your captains. Add a goal and an assist on top of that, it's 28*2 points. I would be very happy with that.

All this thinking leads me to consider taking Antonsson out (had him from the start) and get a cheap forward and upgrade Svensson/Nalic to Rieks. Not going to be easy to find the funds, but that's my plan.

My plan right now is Christiansen + one of Rieks/Traustason, currently have Traustason. But I'm floundering a bit and want to try to find a differential chip play so I might do something different.

                  I like PTB in GW13 I think

I guess it makes sense to keep Traustason if you already have him.

PTB in DGW13 is worthy of a whole another topic for me. I don't have my WC and have only one AIK defender (Linner), so only 2 FTs between the DGWs do not help me at all to be prepared. Also I do not like AIK's fixtures in that DGW that much, so not sure I'll use a chip that GW.

I'm Wildcarding in GW11 so unfortunately I won't be able to play any chips.

At least I can go triple Malmo attack and then transfer one out in GW 12.

Wow, I feel like a complete idiot here, because not even once did I concider playing PTB in DGW11 or DGW13. Was so focused on GW10, and have now made all my planning towards that.

A Malmö triple up in defence for a PTB in DGW11 could be gold. Even a single clean sheet against AFC and a start against Sundsvall would mean at least 16p each, and a total of 42p on those three alone. I guess the problem would be to find 3 defenders who'll start both games, and you'd also miss out on potential attacking returns with no attacking Malmö players.

Can't see AIK keeping a clean sheet in DGW13, but just by playing both games the defenders should pick up 4-5 points each. Would then have to get a Norrköping defender in as well for another 6-8p.

I will stick to my plan with PTB in GW10, but saving it for DGW11 or DGW13 is certainly not a bad idea eighter. I'll use my "Två kaptener" for DGW11, was initially set on Rieks and Traustason but have now decided to go for Rieks and Bengtsson to try and avoid rotation. For DHW13 I'll likely have Mets, Dimitriadis, Pettersson, Thorarinson and Larsson, and hope that it will be enough coverage against those who are playing PTB in that GW.

I'm glad I brought in Tankovic for last GW, but I wish I had thought about it sooner. Then I would have afforded to bring him in for Traustason instead of Rieks, who I now have to bring back in for GW11, losing 0.2 in value on him.

I think he might be heavily captained. We could have got more from the first goal involvement though, as his shot hit the post, landing at Andersen's feet – who then scored.

Disaster for me! Tried to be clever and put the armband on Cibicki instead of Tankovic. With only 12 minutes played I had dropped from 200 to 300. And I thought Östersund were solid at the back! Need something special from Cibicki tomorrow...

Östersund got an early injury though, and conceded the first goal with ten men (if I remember correctly). I think that had an impact on how they played afterwards.

Same here. Elfsborg were awful last night, by far theire worst performance of the season. In the end kind of lucky that Cibicki managed to get a return there. Still hope for another poor performance next GW since they face Djurgården and I'll have Witry and PTB 🙂

A real rollercoaster GW so far for me. Started around place 200, dropped to 400 after the game on tuesday since I didn't captain Tankovic. When Sundgren scored in the end of the first half I was down to 600, but returns from Yasin, Jeremejeff and Cibicki (c) got me upp to around 250 again. 61p with Pettersson, Traustason and Larsson to go, so that game will really decide my GW. Another Göteborg win with returns from PKL/Nygren would be devastating, but a Norrköping clean sheet and returns from Larsson could be a great boost.

Feels like he's been on his way out for about a year now, but havn't heard anything specific now. Wouldn't be suprised to see him leave during the summer break.

I'm concidering bringing Sundgren in for just one week, since I'm playing my "Park the bus" chip in GW10. Have 2 free transfers and no other issues, so instead of just letting a transfer burn in I'm concidering doing Karlsson to Sundgren. Regardless if I'm keeping Karlsson or getting Sundgren, that player will be downgraded to Panos in GW11 to fund Yasin - Rieks. Don't feel happy about taking Yasin out, but with Häcken only scoring one goal a game I can't expect big points from him.

Damn, that injury to Rasmus Bengtsson is really complicating things here! Was all set on making a luxury transfer of Karlsson - Sundgren to maximize my PTB-chip, but that wont happen now. Unless Bengtsson is confirmed fit again an hour before the deadline tomorrow he must go. Can't back out from my PTB-plan now, and can't go into GW10 with a defender who's 50/50 to start. So what do I do?

Can't afford Bengtsson to Sundgren, but could do Bengtsson to Dimitriadis which would give me 3 x AIK defence IF he keeps his spot. But that's many eggs in one basket! If so, I would bring a Malmö defender back in for DGW11.

I could also do a straight swap of Bengtsson to Eric Larsson, who dispite his reputation of being rotatin prone, has started all games except for the first one. Don't feel super confident in that though. What would you do for a PTB-team?

                A) Karlsson - Mets - A.Andersson - Witry - Dimitriadis

                B) Karlsson - Mets - A. Andersson - Witry - E.Larsson

or C), keep Bengtsson and hope he plays and bring in Sundgren instead as a one week punt?

                C) Sundgren - Mets - A.Andersson - Witry - Bengtsson

                Thanks!

I could also do Bengtsson to Larsson and Karlsson to Sundgren for free. But then I would have to take a -4 hit next GW to get Rieks in for the DGW. I'm really reluctant to take hits, but since I'm playing chips in both GW10 and GW11 the damage might not be as big, and it makes sense to try and maxmize the chips, right? On the other hand, since Karlsson to Sundgren is sort of a sideways move, Sundgren would have to get 2p more than Karlsson for the future hit to pay off. Tricky!

                  Hi Bob

I came across this newsfeed about Bengtsson, it's about 10 hours old and translated into English but from what I read from it Bengtsson is keen to play against Kalmar on Sunday.

                  Here's the link: https://newsbeezer.com/swedeneng/rasmus-bengtsson-on-the-injury-situation-aftonbladet/

Perhaps the original Swedish article is clearer but for the moment I'm sticking with him. I've already used my two free transfers and like you I'm not keen on a hit. I'm going to play the 'Park The Bus' chip and unless I hear he's definitely out I think I'll take the risk with him.

                  Cheers

                    Thanks mate!

I think it's the same quotes that's been published in several swedish newspapers, where Bengtsson states that it was a pre-caution, it's his old injury, it didn't feel as bad and he hopes that he can play on sunday. Still, since I'm playing my PTB-chip I can't afford to take any risks, so unless he's confirmed fit he has to go. The problem is that in Allsvenskan there are nu pressconferences ahead of the games, and it's up to the clubs wheter they want to release the squads or not and when to do so. Malmö are genrerallt very bad at this, so I'm not expecting any new before the deadline tomorrow.

Out of my options, I'm currently thinking about gambling on a doubble substitution even if it means -4 next GW. That would mean taking in Larsson and Sundgren for Bengtsson and Karlsson, with Sundgren just being a one week punt. He seems to be the most popular captain choice this GW, so bringing him in could work as a shield. It would be frustrating to play PTB without him if he hauls and many others have him as theire captain. Could also do Dimitriados instead of Larsson to triple up on AIK, even though it might be a bit risky.

Yeah, it's a dilemma when playing PTB, I plan to play it and have Sundgren, Karlsson, Witry, Larsson and Bengtsson. Given there will be no update and I'm loathe to take a -4 hit I think I'll gamble on Bengtsson playing. If it was a double gameweek that would be different.

There are plenty of choices out there for a hit, maybe even Andersson of Hacken alongside the usual suspects you mentioned.

Good luck Bob, hope you make the right call. My calls like this in FPL this season have been terrible so I'm hoping my luck is different in Allsvenskan!

That's a really nice defence for PTB! Like you say, Bengtsson is likely to be a gamble, and in this situation I'm reluctant to make one. It's doubble the points, so if he doesn't start it's probably at least 4p lost, so it could be worth a hit IMO. No fears that Larsson wont play? I'm likely to bring him in, but need him to play this weekend and both games in DGW11.

For some unexplicable reason, I tend to make every call wrong in FPL but almost every call right in Allsvenskan fantasy. Maybe I'm just overthinking this too much?

Most of all I hope for a suprise update from Malmö tomorrow, perhaps even a squad released by 15.00 tomorrow. Best of luck to you too!

I can't think of a reason why Larsson wouldn't play this week or in the DGW.

Perhaps the sensible move for me would be to take Bengtsson out for Vindhiem this week for a -4 and still have my three Malmo for the DGW (have Rieks already) and one free transfer for cover.

Mmmmh, food for thought Bob, I'll keep an eye out tomorrow for any clues from Malmo, it will be 9pm here in Thailand so I'll still be up and about.

Nice to see someone els in the same situation :). I'll try to find information from all kinds of sources regarding Bengtsson tomorrow, and will post if there are any updated.

From what I can see, Larsson have been playing to the right in a back three for most games, which has made his attacking potential less appealing, but on the other hand he seems more nailed on to play. Franz Brorsson seems to be close to return, which could perhaps affect Larssons gametime if that means he'll be moved out to the wing competing with Vindheim again.

Regarding Vindheim, I saw speculations that Berget are back and might be used as wingback now. If you're looking for another Malmö defender, perhaps Safari is a more safe option?
