Allsvenskan Fantasy

Fantasy Allsvenskan: GW8

Gameweek 7 in Fantasy Allsvenskan provided us with a resurgent IFK Göteborg, an Elfsborg-Norrköping fixture where the attacking sparks of Jonathan Levi (8.1m) and Pawel Cibicki (8.6m) fizzled out and a Hammarby win that ended up not being as dominant as it could have been. We also saw Helsingborg more or less robbed of three points against Djurgården by the linesman.

Helsingborg unlucky not to get the three points

In the first half, Djurgården pressed on and were for large periods of time very threatening. 1-0 to Djurgården came from a brilliant Aslak Fonn Witry (5.2m) cross that Mohamed Buya Turay (9.7m) struggled to make a proper connection to which meant the ball bounced somewhat on Helsingborg defender Anders Randrup (4.5m) and it got noted as an own goal with a Buya assist. More than a bit harsh I would say and owners of the Witry-Buya double up will be 4 points worse off than they probably should have been. Rasmus Jönsson (7.5m) scored the equalizer after the break but should have had a brace as his second goal of the night was incorrectly (by some margin) ruled as offside. Helsingborg also hit the post in the 88th minute and in general ran over a lacklustre Djurgården, who looked a completely different side in the second half.

Tankovic showing signs of consistency

Joint top with Adi Nalic (6.1m) in the midfielder’s charts sits Muamer Tankovic (8.8m) from Hammarby. Against Örebro he ran the show and besides the assist looked threatening throughout. Tankovic also seems to be favoured by the bonus point system and thanks to that (along with 2 goals, 2 assists so far) he has yet to drop below 3 points this season. At the time of writing he sits in 29.4% of the squads, the way things are looking he might be worth getting in soon, as he shows no sign of slowing down.

Things are starting to fall in place for Göteborg

After a few rough seasons, a struggling economy and a rocky start by losing to AFC Eskilstuna, many thought that this would be yet another year of mediocracy for the blue and whites. Coach Poya Asbaghi has elected to put faith in the youngsters and that has (so far) paid off handsomely for them. Besides FFS favourite Benjamin Nygren (6.1m) they also have “Paka” (Patrik Karlsson-Lagemyr, 6.6m) and Giorgi Kharaishvili (8.3m) who are all hitting form. Nygren just recently turned 17, Paka is 22 years old, as is Kharaishvili. Add to that the fact that they have returning golden boot hero Lasse Vibe (8.5m) in their ranks and a season that started out looking like one to forget, might yet go down as a quite memorable for their supporters.

Gameweek preview

Another Friday night deadline, don’t get caught out!

This week I figured I’d try something new and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it, if it’s a good format or not for the gameweek preview?

Captaincy thoughts

Muamer Tankovic will be firmly in our thoughts for the captaincy in GW8 as his consistency along with a favourable matchup against Sirius at home should provide the platform for him to continue his early-season form. From Hammarby strikers Nikola Djurdjic (10.0m) and Vidar Örn Kjartansson (10.0m) also looks likely to be in the points and could be potential captaincy shouts.

Linus Hallenius (10.6m) faces off against a struggling Örebro side and with six goals in seven games, he is possibly the captain of the week. Paulinho (12.1m) is pretty much always an option but this week away to Östersund might not be the best time if you have other options in your squad. It’s worth noting however that Östersund keeper Aly Keita (5.5m) might not feature, not that Sixten Mohlin (4.4m) made a bad impression against Kalmar in GW7, saving a penalty and getting 9 points.

Malmö at home to Elfsborg might also be a place to look, with Arnór Ingvi Traustason (8.8m) looking like the most consistent option right now. A brief mention of Markus Rosenberg (10.0m) should also be in order here as he scored a brace in GW7 and would have had a hattrick, had he not missed that penalty. As it were, the penalty miss (along with a yellow card) made sure he netted a quite poor total of 7 points for his brace.

Teams to watch

Hammarby’s fixture at home to Sirius along with their upturn in form has put them firmly in the “teams to watch” category. Now they’ve got three games at home in the next four and could be primed for points. Their defence bar possibly Simon Sandberg (5.2m) remains very iffy and most investment should be in their attacking players.

Göteborg travel to Norrköping who hasn’t started the season of that well with 1 win, 5 draws and 1 loss. Can Göteborg keep their attacking momentum going? When (if ever) are Norrköping going to kick into gear this season?

AFC Eskilstuna plays against Falkenberg at home and will be gearing for only their second win of the season. They’ve played some good football so far (mostly at home) and away games against Hammarby, Häcken and AIK hasn’t been the easiest of starts. Consider Adi Nalic (6.1m), Kadir Hodzic (4.6m) and everyone’s favourite enabler (who’s fit again!) will be pushing for a start – Gustav Jarl (4.0m).

Tricky fixture of the week

There is another Stockholm derby on Sunday as Djurgården tries to best local rivals AIK. Neither team has impressed that much but these games tend to be a bit cagey and the last games between them have ended 0-0, 2-0, 1-1, 0-1, 0-3 and 2-0 where AIK has won 4, 2 draws and Djurgården without a win. Djurgården hasn’t won against AIK since 2011, despite the teams squaring off 14 times since then. Important Djurgården defender Erik Berg (6.2m) is suspended but the bigger picture here is that it’s a really tough one to call, with a slight advantage to AIK who usually does well in derbies and in particular against Djurgården.

So, what are your plans for GW8?

Who do you think will go big and who is best avoided?

Do you think history repeats itself in the derby or can Djurgården capitalise on AIKs torrid start offensively?

In light of Bengtsson doubt im not playing about, -4 taken and playing PTB chip :

    Joelsson
    Sundgren Andersson Karlsson Danielsson Witry
    Tankovic Thorarinsson
    Elyounoussi Cibicki Jeremejeff

Sounds sensible to me! PTB is the most poweful chip, so to not risk anything and trying to maximize it makes sense to me.

I was concidering 3 x AIK but have come to the conclution that 2 is enough as long as one of them are Sundgren. Since he's likely to be heavily captained, I simply have to bring him in even if it will cost me -4 next GW. Plan is to take him out for next GW to afford Rieks, then hope he'll stay quiet for GW11 and GW12 and then being sold in the summer break 🙂

Will likely make that transfer now to avoid a potential price drop on Karlsson, but will save the other transfer for tomorrow. If Bengtsson is not confirmed fit or in squad in time for the deadline, I'll take him out for Larsson or Safari. Safari probably the safer choice and decent on bonus. Larsson have a higher cieling, but have a slim risk of rotation.

There was an update on the injury situation in Malmö today, but Bengtsson was not mentioned. Think it would have been mentioned if he had trained so I asume he didn't, but I guess thats normal for all players involved against Göteborg last night.

Very stong team btw! Any concerns about Thorarinson limping of yesterday? Havn't heard anything so I guess it was just cramp. Looking to bring him in for GW12 and keep for DGW13.

Does anybody else here (other than me) keep getting their Allsvenskan and Eliteserien Fantasy teams and plans mixed up?

I made a needless transfer in Eliteserien this week because I thought I'd be losing it next GW (in what I thought was Eliteserien GW10 rather than GW9). It turned out I was confusing my Eliteserien plan with my Allsvenskan plan. I wouldn't have done the transfer otherwise, and it ended up costing me 3 points and, more importantly, the potential to have 2 FTs this GW in Eliteserien Fantasy (which I'm actually doing pretty okay in, and would like to continue to do so).

Meanwhile, more than once this season I've thought "Okay, I've had enough of Vilhjálmsson blanking - I'm replacing him with Cibicki", until I go to do it and only then realise that they play in different leagues! (For the record, I finally replaced Vilhjálmsson with Børven yesterday. I'd long had Cibicki in mind as my potential Jeremejeff replacement, which was where this particular point of confusion stemmed from.)

”There’s always next year” though isn’t it? 😉 As a Hammarby supporter this is very close to heart.
I’d like it very much if GAIS got back up, noticed they’re 7th. How’s it looking? 🙂

    Oh Rasmus Bengtsson....

    Well, look at GW20's fixtures:

    AIK - Kalmar
    Orebro - Hacken
    Malmo - Falkenbergs
    Djurgardens - Eskilstuna

Just to give y'all an alternative week to park that bus. 😛

Thanks Gertjan, thats a really nice alternative!

I'll stick with GW10 though, since I've built my team on this, and with only Bengtsson possibly out, it's not that big of an issue to find a replacement.

GW20 comes just 2 weeks after BGW18, so that would probably force a wildcard in GW19, which would make it more diffucult to prepare a team for the attack chip in the later part of the season.

I was planning on "park the bus" with 3x Malmö defenders now, but it's really hard to nail down who's going to start.

Bengtsson is an easy one, assuming he doesn't have any setbacks with his injuries.

Safari should be fairly nailed if he stay fit?

Read both some fan articles and suggestions that Berget could/should start at wingback over Vindheim this weekend, so I'm not sure I dare picking him. Getting a lot of stick.

Berget coming in at RWB isn't good for Larsson either, and Brorsson is fit as well. Could he also lose his spot? Larsson is also on 2 YC, but seems like a better pick than Vindheim atm.

Could Brorsson be a better outside pick? Or will they ease him in and let Larsson play? Or even go with Safari - Bengtsson - Lewicki, with Rieks and Berget at wing backs? Should I just go with 2x Malmö defenders on PTB, and get Rieks instead? Really want to max on the defenders, but it does seem a bit messy atm

Yeah the defender-situation at Malmö is a real pain! I’m also looking at playing Park The Bus this week and plan was to get Bengtsson in for Sandberg...

Current defence is Mets - Dimitriadis - Witry - Hodzic - Sandberg*
I can get anyone in bar Sundgren since I already have 3 AIK. Any suggestions?
I’m considering Adam Andersson, Erik Berg and Krogh Gersson if I don’t get a Malmö def.

I actually meant next week, not this!

To me it seems a bit silly going PTB without Sundgren. Why not in one of the double gameweeks? Surely the best chip is better of used in a DGW? Particularly when you can get Malmö next GW, or AIK in GW13?

With this bonus system you can get 3-4 points out of a blank as well. In a DGW that can be 6-8 points even without a CS

Yeah I get that but getting Sundgren in means taking either Mets or Dimitriadis out for a hit, seems a bit excessive if doing it this week. Have other chip plans for the DGW currently.
Any thoughts on the listed options?

I dont fancy putting all my eggs in one basket with PTB - better go attacking with Malmo next week and AIK have Norkopping & Malmo GW13 so hardly great for clean sheets and as far as I can see there aren’t any other doubles planned?

So i’d rather PTB in a SGW with a greater chance of CS

There's another aspect you are ignoring in this game though. The bonus system means even without a CS then a defender can get 1-4 bonus (most likely 1-2).. Which means you can get 6-8 points from a defender with no CS in a DGW..

I still think the probability of CS points gains you more, as it’s still possible to gain more bonus in a SGW than it is in a DGW depending on performance, and even then it probably only gains you 2 points max in a DGW.

Chips are a bit of a lottery in my view, just prefer going for one good fixture rather than two hard ones.

I think 3 x Malmö defence is a bit too much. Kalmar is not that bad, and like you mention the defensive situation in Malmö is a bit of a mess right now.

Thanks for noticing that Larsson is on 2 YC, that rules him out for me since I'll need my Malmö defender to play both this GW and both games in DGW11. Bengtsson is still a doubt, and even if he's declared fit, can he play both games in DGW11? Larsson on 2 YC, Vindheim competing with Larsson/Berget makes the decision much easier for me - Safari it is! From what I can see, he's the only leftfooted defender they got, making him the main option for both LB in a 4-4-2 and LCB in a 3-5-2.

Could also decide to go with Dimitriadis instead, tripling up on AIK defence, waiting to bring in a Malmö defender for next week instead. Will wait with the decision until about 14.55 🙂

Ah okay, I get it, you're going to waste it on doubtful rotation prone players in a DGW instead? Well good luck with that! There are 3 chips and 2 DGW so at least one chip has to be played in a SGW, so prepare to "waste"!

          1. Niemi

            Why so angry?

            PTB = 5x captains
            AA = 3x captains
            2C = 2x captains

PTB is by far the best one. For those who are familiar with it from Eliteserien it's the one who gave the biggest point return by far last season.

I know they are rotation prone, but even in the worst case scenario I'll get 1 start from each of them IMO. Then it's basically the same as playing in a SGW, but with the upside of 4-6 starts from the 3 Malmö defenders combined. Both Malmö fixtures are great and stat wise they are by far the best defence lately.

It might be more sensible to play PTB in GW13, but to me it makes no sense "wasting" the best chip outside the DGWs. We got the two best defences (probably) with DGWs with 2x home fixtures. IMO using PTB in one of them should be a priority

    Abrahamsson
    Larson - Sundgren - Hodzic
    Traustason - Jarl - Tankovic - Saeid*
    Nygren - Hallenius - Jeremejeff
    (Joelsson - Nalic* - Kossounou - Bengtsson*)

My team is lit like a christmas tree now, with Saeid, Nalic and Bengtsson unavailable. Have one free transfer and 3,4 m itb, and could upgrade Saeid or start Kossounou, hoping that he plays. Larson against Häcken isn't necessarily going to give me many points either…

    Thoughts?

Have Traustason already, so it'll have to be one of Rieks/Christiansen if bringing in a third Malmö asset – if not looking at defensive options or attackers.

There's only Hallenius I'm even considering for the Sundsvall DGW, as the fixtures (AIK/Malmö) aren't great. I might even take the chance transferring him out for Elyounoussi, so that I have funds to upgrade Saeid.

                Just saw that, excellent news!

Still the 20 men squad will be downsized to 18 for the game tomorrow, but hopefully Bengtsson will still be in it. Perhaps wishfull thinking, but surely he must be fit to play if he's in the squad? Since he's in the squad, I'll take that risk instead of taking a -4 hit. Best of luck to all!
