    A cheeky RMT:

    Ryan
    Laporte, Zinchenko, TAA, VVD,
    Salah, Sterling, Siggy
    Ings, Murray, Deulofeu

    Button, Digne, 4.5, 4.5

Definitely a issue of rotation headache.

Shall I downgrade a striker to Joselu? I could then make Zinchenko Walker.

Keep your eye on Brighton during preseason. Andone at 5.0 could be Brighton's starting striker which will save you 1m. Would not advise benching Digne. If you spend 6.0 on a defender I would suggest you play him week in, week out. Especially one with attacking potential because you never know when the goals and assists will come.

Robo, Alison, and Digne will outscore your 3 forwards by an overwhelming amount

You'd obv bench Ings for Digne, but it's not worth having a front 3 like that. Go 442 with a decent 6.5-7 4th Mid.

    Currently my last call

    A. 541 with Digne and Dedonker
    B. 451 Tielemans and Kelly
The fodder ones in each case are indeed fodder.

I don't like 5 at the back but if your mind is set on one of these formations I would say 541, just because you at least have 1 playing sub that way. If it turns out that Brighton's 5.0m striker is a starter then I would advise trying to get him in for your bench instead of 4.5 fodder, just in case your playing striker is ever rested/injured.

Yeah the bench is possibly all no shows. Thanks any 5.0 forwards giving even 2 points a game would be good if needed.
If Tammy looks like starting for either Villa or Chelsea it will be 442

Yeah but midfield is where a lot of the points are but this year there probably are enough premium returning defenders to allow 4 or possibly 5 at the back. Have to pay for this though even 5 to 5.5 won't bring home at least 170 which is the minimum you need from all of them. Used be it was amazing if one defender made that - pool defender torn up the rule book and can do it again!!

Can see why you're settled - it is excellent.

My only reservation is that it seems a shame to use a Liverpool spot on the keeper. Granted he's the highest-scoring one.
I put Ederson there and have a 2nd Pool defender (VVD). I can afford that because I prefer Vardy to Kane; the other route would be to downgrade Grealish although you can't go cheaper if you have to start the Donk. Actually, that's another reason to change Kane for Vardy - you need a 6.5 mid in your starting lineup.

Yeah I've been looking at that exact scenario Kane to Vardy. Vardy was on fire from the moment Rogers arrived. Could upgrade Donk to Zaha or Fraser with a downgrade Vertongen... great input anyway thanks

This ticks nearly all the boxes I think.
I get Lei playing some counter attacking teams but I still think those opening fixtures are hard. Tbf this could be close to an optimum lineup / formation balance but obviously Christensen and even Zinc might only be temporary stop gaps and you are depending on some superstar defenders emerging at that price bracket.

Seems decent, but wondering if Chirstensen could be better value if he nails a place. Big IF though, I agree.

Cheers, mate. Here was my original team.

        Kepa
        TAA VvD Walker Digne

A playing 6.0 forward solves a lot of the problems I am having.
I know preseason to come but you think Che nails a place in that Saints team?

          1. Differential C (Mark)
            • 8 Years

We needed a 15-20 goal striker who wouldn't get injured for half the season. I think Che was brought in for that so cant see him benched. Think he starts from the get go. Alongside Ings instead of in place of him imo, but ofc preseason will reveal more.

Seriously mixed bag of fixtures to start but at 6.0 rather than 6.5 it allows a definite starting 4.5 defender I suppose to rotate him with and make the bench look a bit better.

The point I'm making about the FPL prices is that they reflect pre-season expectations. The point of playing the game is trying to get the better of FPl Towers. It's like gambling - in the main the company knows what it's doing, but there is skill and plenty of luck in finding those players with extra value.

Right now, not knowing much about Villa, I'm prepared to say that I expect Grealish to outscore El G at the end of the season, and both to outscore Donkey. I expect that because FPL Towers expect that. If you think El G top him, that's your speculation and you take a punt on it. You may well end up correct, but I think there's a less than 50% change because that's what FPLT think.

And that, in a nutshell, is what this game is all about.

    Can someone answer me please...

    1) How many penalty Liv got last season?

    2) Do u think TAA or Robbo can be captain if we dont own Salah (Looks like Liv coverage). I know points Salah's points and ppm higher .

    3) Do u think Vardy can be a reliable captain too? Can he get at least 7.0 ppm at the end of the season?

As u can see, i think to leave Salah alone. Get Sterling, Vardy, TAA or even Wilson to rotate captaincy.

    Risky and brave enough?

Not sure. You should easily be able to find it in members area.

Yes but I wouldn’t be doing it often or expect more than 5/6 points.

In certain fixtures I feel like he can be a good option but not at the level of sterling, salah, kun, Kane, and mane

You could start this season with salah and then transfer to sterling in gw 3 as salah first 2 fixtures are much better imo

As soon as Harry Kane scores a scrappy goal off his bum against nobody fc in preseason he’s coming into my fpl team in place of sterling. Even though he’s failed the eye test for the past year or 2 and may be a glorified DM.

      I've had enough of him.
Would be very tempting to get him once he gets going, but I'm going to avoid him.

Keeper rotation are a nightmare chance are the one away to City save a penalty while the one at home to a promoted club concedes in injury time.
Fab and a 4.0 for me but Pope could be good also. If Pope nailed a spot him and a 4.0 could be fine too.

So maybe Lampard could go Azpi at centre back. Tbf Chelsea don't get many CS when Christensen does play there if Rudiger is out.
That's leads to Zappacosta playing which would allow a huge upgrade elsewhere. In my case it would be Azpi > Zappa. Might even have cash for something like a bench. Here's hoping.

Zappacosta is a decent player, it was just Azpi's consistency + Sarri's rigid XI which made it difficult for the backups to play. Wonder if Lampard is a tinkerman or not . . .

Straight in. Doesn't look the shy type and he know's he has what it takes to excel at this level. He's stuck on my XI for the last 10-odd drafts.

Monitoring Ings with great interest - if he goes into GW1 fit & firing I think i’ll take the gamble & hope to get a few weeks out of him

      Adams similar... plus Yarmolenko

Think it’s one of that trio for slot #11!

It's the best feeling ay. It's why I play the game. My WC gw5 last season was full of low ownership players I thought were about to start scoring well and devoid of high ownership "essential" players I thought weren't in great form. Completely nailed most of em and flew up to the top 100 OR while the masses chasing points clamored to buy my players. Nothing better than being ahead of the curve.

At its most basic level it’s manipulating electrical currents to generate billions of 1’s & 0’s in certain specific sequences to change patterns of liquified crystals on thousands of electrified pieces of glass hundreds (or even thousands) of miles away from you

How have we gone from wattle & daub huts to this in such a short space of time?

Terrence McKenna was also fascinating to listen to - he reckoned psychedelics had a huge role to play (the “stoned ape” theory)

Stones & Kelly could be changed to more reliable players, you could go for a matching pair to be rotated on the bench order every week. And maybe reconsider BSilva to a regular starter too, but he wouldn't be a bad one on the other hand, if you're happy enough with Pep's roulette. Very nice balance anyway!
