Scoutcast discusses how to learn from FPL mistakes

Join us for the latest episode of the Scoutcast this evening.

As per usual, the show will be running on our YouTube channel from 20:00 GMT until 21:00 GMT.

In episode 307, Joe will be joined by Holly Shand and Lee Bonfield to discuss how to learn from Fantasy Premier League mistakes.

After looking back on Gameweek 11, the three pundits will look to a tricky round of action for Fantasy managers.

Liverpool and Manchester City’s meeting at Anfield on Sunday is likely to temper enthusiasm for the popular premium options – and could increase pressure on our mid-price and budget assets.

With that in mind, our player of choice this week is John Lundstram (£4.8m) who simply won’t stop making FPL history this season.

After that, we’ll update you on the current differential and clean sheet standings.

As Liverpool and Chelsea are also playing in the Champions League, concurrently with the Scoutcast, we shall endeavour to bring you any relevant score or injury updates.

Lessons learned from Gameweek 11

    Evening all.
Contemplating a 3-5-2 formation or a 3-4-3 formation. Who should I consider as a fifth midfielder or third striker though:

    KDB - Mane - Son - Martial - ?
    Abraham - Vardy - ?

What budget have you got? Jimenez as 3rd striker

Around 5.5-7.5 depending on whether I bring TAA in or VVD.

    Given mounts injury should I

    A) hold onto CHO this week?

    Or should I go

    B) CHO to Tielemans

    C) CHO and Otamendi to Maddison and Lascelles for a -4

Which route to go? Will likely make the changes tomorrow

    A) Pukki & KDB/Sterling > Vardy & Maddison
    B) Greenwood, Sterling & Pukki > Vardy, Tielemans & Jimenez (-4)
    C) Greenwood, Sterling, Pukki & Cancelo > Vardy, Maddison, Jimenez & 4.7 def (-8)

    Pope
    TAA, Soy, Lundstram, Cancelo, Aurier
    Salah, Sterling, KDB, Mount, Cantwell
    Abraham, Pukki, Greenwood

    1. FlatTrackBully

      A

    2. Klaren

      B. Mount, Cantwell, Cancelo and Greenwood are all unlikely to start the next game so ideally you need to replace Greenwood or Cantwell. But would wait for news on Mount tomorrow. If he is fit, A might be a better choice.

Boly to Rico, Chambers or Lascelles?

    1. Klaren

Wouldn't go with Chambers as he might lose his place, Rico and Lascelles is quite close, both are decent options for their price.

Does Maddison instead of Mount in WC make sense?

I got Mount at 6.2 so value is the only concern for me, but I'm not sure if I even want him back. Since Lampard slightly tweaked the formation, Mount is much less involved in the box compared to Pulisic, CHO, Willian. He is still a key player for them but not so sure about his value as an fpl asset anymore.

    1. TheBrazilianRonaldo
      • 5 Years

I think he’s not essential. He was, because we knew value would increase. Chelsea seem to score more away and their next 5 or 6 are mostly at home. Plus yeah he’s playing deeper. If Puli is nailed I’d rather have him when fixtures improve.

Not sure if Tielemans gets in the box enough. He certainly has more chances to do so at home. Quite like Perez in the second striker role, inside right.

      1. Planet_Marss

good point also.. saw a few situations where perez was in better positions to score v palce and obviously shampton

Yep. Leicester beat Newcastle earlier in the season 5-0 and Maddison got diddly squat (even Ndidi scored!). I sat watching Tielemens orchestrate everything from outside the area.

Plenty of good FPL managers thought Perez was a great pick at 6.5m at the start of the season, and if anything, Leicester are stronger now than people expected. I think 6.1m is a brilliant price.

I just have this feeling about Tielemans. I started the season with him so it's not just off the back of a couple of goals. He's a top quality player.

I ended up having to move him on for KDB so wasn't the worst decision 🙂

tielemans is my favourite in fpl and rl.. pure talent.. always makes the right play in the final third.. will definitely be approached by bigger clubs

Love him as a player. Just think he plays behind 4 other FPL options in Vardy, Perez, Barnes and Maddison.

I’ve given up looking at data on Leicester. Someone on here helped me realise they. Vardy is doubling his xG. Tielemans is just another worldly scoring xG defying genius. Maddison quality as well. Any attacking Leicester asset in with a shout in the upcoming run.

01 free transfer, 0.9 in the bank. WC available. What do you suggest, friends?

    Pope / 4.0
TAA, VVD, Chilwell / Lundstram, Rico
    Salah, Sterling, Mount, Yarmolenko, Hudson-Odoi
    Vardy, Abraham / Connolly

Seems like a good time to WC. At the same time, I would keep many of these names. Eh. What do you say?

    1. Planet_Marss
      • 4 Years
      4 years, 4 months ago

would be tempted but would save wc one more week.. liverpool fixtures turn so do city's and a few other teams.. also benefit from ib.

you have both mount and hudson odoi so one will cover the other and good 4.0 defenders to play this week.. only thing is the double lpool def but doesnt really matter too much cos of the attack threat

Jorginho is on pens and not bad value at 5.1m. He's suspended this week though

JWP could be an option too given Southampton's sweet fixtures

          He's 5.6

Jorginho not a bad shout but takes up Chelsea spot

I would never bench Robbo regardless of fixture, he's as much an attaker as a defender... then again suppose one could say the sasme about Lord Lundstram atm!
