Scoutcast crew tackles how to plan for gruelling winter period

The Scoutcast returns tonight in the build-up to Gameweek 13, starting at 20:00 GMT on our YouTube channel.

As the international draws to a close we are looking ahead to the next round of action as well as the upcoming winter schedule.

Between now and the end of the calendar there will be eight Gameweeks so it’s important to get our planning just right.

In episode 308, Joe will be joined by Tom Freeman and Holly Shand.

Between the three of them, they boast a total of 17 finishes inside the top 10k, so we’re expecting some excellent insight.

As well as discussing the frantic festive period, Mason Mount (£6.8m) comes under scrutiny in light of Christian Pulisic’s (£7.4m) recent form and the mid-price Leicester options.

Meanwhile, many Fantasy managers are contemplating how to invest in Liverpool over the coming weeks with the age-old debate about double-defence or double-attack the focus of discussion tonight.

Park the Bus Mourinho made the TOT defenders suddenly appealing. TOT attack - not so much.

That Spurs team is way better offensively than United were and while he is a defensive minded manager (or pragmatist) he likes his attackers to have freedom and for that you need good players.

Best options here with 1ft and 0m itb...

      Pope Heaton
Taa Lundy Rico — Lascelles Tomori
Sterling Kdb Martial Mount — Cantwell
      Tammy Rashford Vardy

      - 0.1m short to do sterling >> mane
      - 0.1m short to do Lascelles/Rashford >> Robbo/Ings (-4)

A: Save FT and reassess next gw
      B: Sterling + Cantwell (price drop imminent) >> Mane + Dendocker (-4)
C: Mount + Rashford >> Maddison + Jimenez (-4)...and avoid playing 2 Chelsea attackers vs. city
      D: Something else

      Hey guys,

I've got a selection headache for the next round, help please!

Defence, pick 1 from Lunds, Soy

Front 7, drop 1 from Maddison, Mane, McGinn, Pulisic, KDB, Tammy, Jimi, Vardy

      Thanks!

        Lund ..no doubt...

        In his team...hes the mid

But soy is at CB position

So lund can make more points by making assist+clean sheet.... seriously a gem to fpl !!!!!

      Now where to put a 5.4 Toby/Rose in a TAA/Robbo/Lundstram/Soy starting def.

343 with TAA Lund and rotating Spurs def w Soy/Rico
      or
      442 with TAA Toby/Rose Lund rotate Soy/Rico

Very surprised by all the comments about Poch being sacked. It’s not just about the results (and they are bad let’s face it) it’s also about their game which is poor.
All day long we can read here « avoid spurs » and now Poch being sacked is a disgrace.

Looks to me like it’s a good decision. Some key players have let him down, starting with eriksen who’s has been the team engine for years, there have been some really shocking displays at the back which really questioning the willingness of the whole team to fight back. Something’s broken here and let’s be honest, reaching the UCL final last year was quite lucky for them.

But the prospects for the new coach are great. Some young players, some real established ones, great signings so good potential.

As an FPL and football POV, can’t help thinking this will push spurs up

Unfortunately its just so much easier to drop a manager than a bunch of players. Obviously a lot behind the scenes but this constant trend of firing managers and not under performing players is odd.

Players with winning mentality will due on the pitch for Jose.
Kane and son are 2 of them.

In December it looks like we need to find the money to get at least one of them in.

Too much money for mediocrity. I don't mean Spurs by the way, usually give their all. That's why I like Sheffield United right now, hear, skill goid tactics, no showboaters.

          You saw it on utd.

These kids didn't play for him at all.

Jose can take the best out of his players only when the players are behaving like men and not like boys.

You saw it in inter Milan, he had players with big balls that they were willing to die for him, they left everything in the pitch and the won the treble.

In utd, you have only baby moaning, starting from Pogba.

Jose style was and always is aggressive..
If you insult men, they will try to prove you wrong, if you insult babies they will kill you behind your back.

          Skills wise yes.
          Mentality no.

That's also the difference in liverpool, not the skills, the mentality that klopp brought to them

Jose mourinho is going to tear the Spurs team apart. Can’t see this appointment being long term. There’s no way he will las, clashing with Levy about transfers and not bringing in academy players. With the new stadium, Jose won’t have the kitty he always demands. Watch this space Spurs fans, it’s going to a roller coaster. Feel for Poch. Bayern lucky to have him.

Fair play to Jose for taking up such an uphill challenge with Spurs while he could've had offers from a bigger club with larger transfer kitty and a huge paycheck. I doubt Pep would have had balls to do it.
