Scoutcast Episode 309 – When FPL patience turns to stubbornness

When does patience stop being a virtue and become downright stubbornness?

This is among the issues tackled by Joe, Az and Lee on this week’s Scoutcast as they look at their own stubborn streaks and wonder whether impatience may actually be the wisest strategy this season.

Those who have been slow to catch on to Jamie Vardy’s sensational captaincy potential, and clinging to the hope that Raheem Sterling will eventually score in the league, will know about the cost of patience only too well.

There’s also plenty of input too from the community on this issue as they reveal how they may have been, perhaps, too set in their ways this campaign.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus’ credentials as a differential saviour is also on the bill, as are Spurs assets, who are already shaking up the template under Jose Mourinho. But which of the North Londoners’ wealth of attacking talent is the best to acquire?

Our trio also look back at their Gameweek 13 scores and detail their plans for the upcoming Gameweek 14 matches this weekend.

In this packed show, they also manage to squeeze in the regular features including clean sheets and Rough with the Smooth.

Finally, Az marks his return to the Scoutcast line-up to maintain his strong track record of picking differentials by taking his turn to select the next month’s best low-owned gem.

Will our trio continue to be stubborn this season, or will the patient approach prevail?

To be fair i can as well, just if this benching drama continues i may have to transfer him out the door.

He hasn't hauled since gw 2 i guess, so punishment is a big task for him !
Maybe a return is what you can expect if he starts in is CM role now opposed to wing role previously

Yeah it is rather tedious not knowing, can’t stand players benched. I may offload for -4 at this rate

true, was thinking of downgrading in my case and turning back to a 343 nd bringing Jiminez in alongside the usual suspects vardy & Tammy

Not so sure. Jorginho and Kova has a good partnership going on.

I think removing kova will affect the rythem of chelsea, linking midfeild to attack which he does effectively. Plus Pulisic has played lot of games recently and is due a rest

True and Kovacic has been immeasurably better this season. I think this is one where Pulisic and Mount owners will form a slightly biased opinion based on who they own.

I’m torn on what to do, i don’t wanna take a hit so may just move in Son and if Mount is still benched then move him on.

What do you make of Chelsea lineup today? this is one of the most important games of the season

Mount & Tomori benching - good or bad for owners?

Not quite sure where Christensen has come from. If he plays well that is a real spanner in the works for owners. Still see Mount starting in easier home games coming up...

Should play most games. He's lampards golden boy. Saying that there will be rotation amongst chelsea mids when fixtures come thick and fast

Yeah - my thoughts, zero concerns about him ever being benched, in form, on penalties.

Surely he's a great options alongside Mo Salah
But Potter's players are playing for him & Silva's to get him sacked probably ??
        Big factor IMHO

        Dunno

Brighton haven’t been horrid away and Liverpool are about sneaking wins rather than stomping over sides

May well end up with only one Liverpool before 18 strikes.

        Yeah
Tbh I'd © Salah if not Vardy this GW.
He feels so safe though with being Nailed, getting most big chances, on Pens, no midweek games, Everton being sh.t

haha yep, all rock solid reasons to go with Vardy, and i can see myself just keeping it on him, last two GW's on him has been incredible for captaincy. See how Salah looks tonight.

      For me its:
      Mane (c) vs BRI (H)
      Vardy (c) vs WAT (H)
      Vardy (c) vs AVL (A)
      Mane (c) vs WAT (H)

        Nice
I'm in nostalgic party mood so getting © away is difficult atm.
Only Salah can take that away after a 30 minutes cameo + brace Tonight

What is the conventional wisdom when a defender (Lunstram) in your team is up against a striker (Jimmy) in your team in the same GW?
Pick the winner and play him? Or play them both and hedge your bets?

Play both if they are your best options. How often do you have a GW where all XI players return?

Hello everyone, considering the fact that Mancity have a few relatively tough GWs ahead, is anyone thinking of being without Man City assets for the next 7 GWs and bring them back after that. I got KDB in at 9.5 but and will get 9.9 if transfer him out, and im expecting him to drop anyway to 10.1 or even 10 if he doesnt start all the games in december. So thats a loss of -0.1.

In the next 6 GWs, it does look like Alli / Son / Salah have a higher point potential due to their fixtures and playing styles while i dont expect more than 25 points from KDB.

Also Zaha and Ings look primed for some returns with Ings notching against TOT, ARS, WOL, EVE and CHE and missing only against MCI and LEI.

Anyway I'm mostly benching him this GW anyway because Ings may have a better bang for buck against WAT while NEW have let it only 4 goals in 6 matches at home. Is it still insane to drop KDP to the bench in FPL?

The theory is that Chelsea midfield will rotate. Will Lampard do Pep? Pulisic in or not for the plum fixtures?

    Evening!

Does this seem sensible with 2FT ?

What would you do with 2FT? 0.1itb

    Pope (button)
Robo, Soy, Lundi, wan bis, Tomori
    D.Silva, mane, KDB, mount, tielsman
    Vardy, Tammy, Ayew

    I was thinking:

    Dilva -> Pulisic
Mount -> Cantwell ...leaves me with 2.1m for next week to upgrade Ayew
