Teams that Man City have been drawn to face in the domestic cups since 2018 (so excluding finals): Oxford, Fulham, Leicester, Burton, Rotherham, Burnley, Newport, Swansea, Brighton, Preston, Southampton, Oxford and Port Vale.

Have Pope and Heaton, so looking to replace Heaton given the fixture swing for both. Best replacement for Heaton?

    A) Henderson (already have Lunds and Baldock)
    B) Guita
    C) Other
    D) Keep them both

    1. DandyDon

I have both and am taking the different approach of transferring out Pope as Heaton rotates well with McCarthy and Henderson. McCarthy is cheaper but I’ll be doubling up on the Utd defence! Do like Guaita as well but too expensive alongside Heaton/Pope.

    **** 2018 Eliteserien Season End ****

As some of you will know, the Eliteserien came to a close yesterday.

The Norwegian top tier runs for 8 months, from April to November approx, with a free FPL game available from the Premier League FPL people.

I had organised a rookies league, “Fjord Focus” to take advantage of this.

I appreciate there are some serious players on the FFS community forum, but I’m not on there much and had organised the league here, hence this post.

This was ideal for those of us who suffer from Premier League/FPL withdrawal over the summer months!

Fjord Focus league was won by “Maneball” (Nick) with an impressive first season overall rank of 546 out of 55,000 players approx.

Congrats Nick, your prize of a candlelit dinner for 2 with John Lundstram is being organised...

Runner up was “Adams Vikings” with an OR of 1076 - well done Adam.

Thanks to those who took part and we can possibly run something similar again next spring when it returns.

If you have an FPL itch to scratch over the summer, I can really recommend the game.

Its the same format of what we’re used to, and requires very little commitment in terms of time (if you so wish) just to keep your team reasonably ticking along (e.g. 10-15 mins per week)

As for the football (!) Molde were crowned champions, with a convincing 68 point total.

Bodo / Glimt claimed runners up spot with 58 points (who themselves had only returned to play in the Eliteserien in 2018 following promotion)

Rosenborg, last seasons champions, were a place further back in 3rd on 52 points.

    Eliteserien FPL Fun (?!) Facts:

Then top scoring defender (Christophe Psyche) was a 4.0m starter

A 4.5m keeper (Marcus Sandberg) was the games 4th highest overall points scorer

I discovered that “Skade i håndledd - Ute resten av sesongen” means “ wrist injury - out for the rest of the season”

    Peace and out

I turn on the fa cup draw all excited, missed the first few, and out comes Chelsea at home. I'm like well surely not us again. 1/58 chance or whatever it was and bam yep, 'will play Forest at home.' Again, exact same draw as last year. Run over before it's even begun. Suppose at least we can goad lampard but still.

Question, if you're bringing in a "big" (8.0M+?) player, why would you bring him in and not captain him? Please don't give me the typical "because Vardy is set and forget" etc. You clearly think the player you're bringing in is going to do something hence the transfer. So I'm just curious why you don't trust them enough to score enough to be captained?

The reason I ask is this week I learned the hard way. I, unfortunately, was one of those that chased points by putting the captaincy responsibilities on Mane, why I didn't stick with my tried and tested Vardy I don't know. To make matters worse I always knew I was bringing in Alli after the WHUvTOT game and when I brought him in I left the armband on him for 24 hours before picking Mane.

Result? Mane (2) and Alli (15). Subsequently meant I finished the week with 87 instead of 100.

I'm showing the difference in point swing. It's not about my points, I got outscored by plenty. I've been on the website for three years, I'm not particularly one to brag about my scores (unless I'm having specific banter with another user)

I only didn't captain Alli because I thought I'd be pushing my luck and "cursing" it. The odds of me guessing the right week to bring him in and captain him felt far-fetched. I also thought Liverpool would romp BHA. I figured even an assist or a single goal would keep me happy with Mane but alas...

Do you ever bring in premium players but then not captain them?

      100 would have been nice.
      Alli aint Premium.
The bringin in makes a player more beautiful to your eyes. Taking the armband away affer initially being blinded by his shiny white new shirt was the right decision
