FFS Cup

The latest FFS Cup fixtures and results

The draws for the sixth round of the FFS Members Cup and the seventh round of the FFS Cup have taken place following the completion of Gameweek 21.

We’re down to the final 16 Fantasy managers in both tournaments after the New Year’s Day round of fixtures.

FFS CUP

The results from the sixth round of the open-to-all 2019/20 FFS Cup are available by clicking here.

The seventh round draw in full can be accessed here.

Our highest-ranked manager in round six (more of whom below) made it through to the round of 16.

Teddy Brewski, still chasing a cup double, beat robharr to progress to the next stage.

He will play TOMYG84 in round seven.

Our only all-top 10k clash in Gameweek 22 sees Mataatti take on Leggend2: this is the former’s third successive meeting with a manager inside the top 10,000 at the point of the tie.

Our only two remaining site users who lie outside the top 100k and who remain in the FFS Cup, stamfordbridge and A Team Has No Name, meet each other in the last 16.

FFS MEMBERS CUP

The scores from the fifth round of the 2019/20 FFS Members Cup are available by clicking here.

The sixth round draw in full can be accessed here.

An impressive four of our remaining 16 managers – including the aforementioned Teddy Brewski – are currently inside the top 1k.

Our highest-ranked entrant left in either competition remains at 14th in the world after Gameweek 21.

frankiem, who first entered the top 1k four months ago, defeated Emm7980 and will meet prbaker1980 in the sixth round.

ActorJeff and BeckerCallSaul, who have overall ranks of 388th and 586th respectively, also progressed.

The aforementioned TeddyBrewski saw off moderator TorresMagic in the first Gameweek of 2020 and will next play robharr – who he coincidentally defeated in round six of the FFS Cup.

Owning Rashford & Martial, I worry about their minutes in gw21 v NOR(h).
In yesterday's FA Cup game v WOL(a), Rashford played 30', Martial was reported ill.
They play v MCI(h) 4 days before gw21, while the FA Cup replay v WOL(h) comes 3 days after gw21.
The following game is 5 days later but it's as tough as it gets. LIV(a).

NOR(h) being the easiest fixture, on paper, could be the one they get some rest.

If both are fit for gw21, would you:

    A) Keep both
    B) Sell Rashford for DCL
    C) Sell Rashford for Maupay

    Current squad:

    Henderson (Button)
    TAA Soyuncu Lundstram Kelly Aurier
    Salah KDB Maddison Martial Traore
    Vardy Rashford Ings

They will both play and start if fit for Norwich. League is a big priority over Milk and FA Cup. Ole desperately needs points in the league to keep in top 4 race and certainly won't have the luxury to rest both v Norwich. I would keep both for that game then look to move one/both on.

I'd be looking to get Robertson in for Kelly before GW24.

To fund that, you are probably going to have to sell Martial or Richarlison for Traore or Cantwell

    Hi all,

(For next week)What would be the best goalkeeper to replace Guaita with..?

    A-Henderson (Have Lundstram)

    B-Fabianski (Terrible fixtures?)

C-Ryan (Not sure Brighton are capable of keeping many cs

D-McCarthy (Southampton are not the strongest at the back..)

    Thanks all and opinions appreciated!

C or D for me. Ask yourself what you can do with an extra 0.5 mill and then decide. Ryan probably the better option, but for me the extra half mill would be better utilised elsewhere.

        Difficult choice actually

        Gw 23 -Guaita TO McCarthy

        Gw 24- Hanley TO Dunk/4.7?

      None.

Goalkeepers are utterly bizarre and without any rhyme or reason as to who gets most pts. At various times in the season you can look at the highest pts and realise it’s somebody who has had barely a mention....whilst the keeper from the best team is floundering way behind.

Pick two and just keep them....and cross your fingers you got two good ones.

Not convinced by Fab (fixtures) or Ryan (lack of cleanies). I brought foster in 2 gws ago, pretty content but the fixtures aren't the best

If I were you I'd stick and just ride out the next 2 games. Palace rarely get battered and the fixtures after City are lovely

    7. Karhumies

Foster or Ryan. They both get a good amount of saves, BPS, and their teams are not too bad at the back so they get quite a few CS as well.

Dubravka, Leno are the other high save, high BPS alternatives but their CS has been lower so far.

Schmeichel, Henderson, Guaita get a lot less saves, so they rely on CS and fixtures much more.

Fabianski, McCarthy we don't have enough season data to reliably compare. IMO, McCarthy's main attraction is the low price tag. In 5.0 GK market, I think that if Arsenal can get their stuff together for CS, Leno might becone top tier FPL GK and become even better than Fabianski.

I am doing Pope > Fabianski or Ryan

I was leaning to Fab due to DGW but now many have convinced me Ryan is better choice longer term.

However Fab has 4 clean sheets to Ryans 5 and Fab has played less than half the minutes...

    1. GreennRed

I sold Fabianski for Pope in August and will keep him. Himself and Martin are my fodder. He gets a nice few save points and cheap as chips.

Fair point - looking at Ryan’s fixtures actually they aren’t amazing long-term.

I think I will hold Guaita until Gw 24 and get Henderson for the double-up!

Mane looks most likely to haul from the two but if you've both possibly one will win big v Hammers and one v Wolves. I'd prefer Mane and De Bruyne longer term
Unfortunately I got Salah back 🙁

    Gazzaniga
    TAA Lundstram Rico (Kelly Taylor)
    Salah Mane KDB Traore (Dendoncker)
    Vardy Rashford Maupay

2 free transfers and 0.5 ITB.

    Gazzaniga out?
    Anything else?

Your mids seems very weak. Suppose salah and mane unbalances it for you.
Gazzaniga out and I’d want to upgrade Traore - he isn’t good enough as a 4th mid imo

I take it Traore is the problem for you?

I was contemplating Rashford and Traore out at some point so I'd look to spread the funds out that way, I think they're good for another gameweek or two

    Vardy (C). Ings.

    McGovern. Söyüncü. Ayew. Rico.

      I burnt benchboost.

Freehit for big gameweek. Triple captain for a DGW with tasty captain.

Wildcard before a less than DGW.

TC in GW 24. BB and FH will depend on how the blanks and doubles shake out.

Fed up of Aguero getting benched, is it time to give up the ghost, and forget a Man City striker, spreading the money elsewhere? Or do people think hell start next league game?

If he starts Wednesday I guess it’s not good news.

If Jesus starts Wednesday then captain him.....

No point answering because you’ll be asking the same question next week.

Hard/impossible to captain him is a major problem at that price because you can get others that you can (c) for a lot less.

Cheers for the answers, it's exactly that last point that kills it.
I agree with the first reply too, but am afraid that i'll be seeing 0.2/0.3 differences in prices by Wednesday night if I am considering a change.

    Kane to
    A) DCL
    B) Deulofeu
    C) Maupay
To free up funds for Martial to Mane

Would you get Ings or Deeney though? Selling Kane. Thinking of going Traore and Dunk to Son and Gomez next GW.

Tough one. Ings is on form but I think Deeney is a great option when Watford are playing well.

I’m not sold by Gomez tbh, his ceiling seems to be 6 points and he’s very likely to only play once in DGW24 IMO

Hi....thoughts on dcl as kane replacement here?

I'm at 300k and need to make up ground in mini leagues.

All rivals have ings or jiminez but none have dcl.....so seems worth a gamble on dcl...

    Pope
    Taa lunds soy Kelly rico
    Mane kdb alli grealish nakamba
    Kane vardy maupay

    Thanks

I would go Jimi personally but you are maybe trying to get funds for Salah?

Don’t get the DCL love tbh

I can afford any of ings, jiminez or dcl in order to upgrade alli to Salah for dgw24.

Just not going to make significant headway v rivals if I get a player they have...

Surely ings is going to slow down soon....

    I’d this a good team for GW24?
I can’t help but feel Salah will be better then Robbo.

    Ryan Button
    TAA Lund Soy Sidibe Robbo
    KDB Mane Rich Grealish Cant
    Vardy Rashford Ings

Could always downgrade Robertson and look to upgrade one of your mids to Salah, but probably best to keep it as it is.
Strong team, and if you need funds you can take them out of defence.
