Scoutcast Episode 341 – Final Day Planning

What is it like to be within a whisker of winning Fantasy Premier League? Joe and Az find out when they are joined by special guest Alexander (@TooGoodFPL), who is in third place and just nine points from the summit.

This latest Scoutcast episode devotes itself to planning for Gameweek 38, as this longest of campaigns draws to a close.

Alexander reveals what its like to be so high up the rankings and the players he is considering for the end of the season as he bids for the FPL crown. With chess champion Magnus Carlsen hot on his heels in fourth place and just 30 points separating the top 10, there is plenty for him to ponder ahead of Sunday’s matches.

There’s alot on the line for all managers too, be it overall rank, mini-league glory or just the chance to own David Silva before he departs the Premier League.

While Joe and Alexander don’t have a Free Hit to play they can at least dream and run through the players, who those lucky enough to still have that chip, could bring in.

Az is one of those lucky ones. But with a wealth of choice from the ranks of Manchester City, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool and more ,deploying this chip is no easy task.

Elsewhere, Joe laments on his poor post-lockdown Bench Boost strategy and there’s some Rough with the Smooth tales of woe and joy to look at.

On Monday July 27th at 8pm UK time the Scoutcast will return for one more time this campaign, to look at the highs and lows and lessons learned from this odd season. Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel to get notified of this and future live episodes.

I'm torn. I do expect Silva to bid farewell in style with at least two assists - unless I cast a spell by buying him

    Rate my latest FH team:
(If Jesus not starting: Jesus/Pulisic/Guendouzi to Mahrez/ Martial/ Connolly)

    Pope
    TAA Aurier Pieters
    Salah D.Silva Sterling Pulisic
    Kane Jesus Ings

Nice, some team value that mind. I'd go Son instead of Jesus if you could work it.

Some very cheap playable bench fodder about to enable a top team.

I know it's manic but thoughts appreciated. I'm going top heavy.

    Pope
    Bardsley Johnson Stephens
    Salah Sterling KDB Martial
    Kane Jesus Greenwood

    Martin, Braithwaite, Williams, Guendozi.

    I have a 10 point lead.

My other option is KDB and Greenwood out for Silva and Ings.

I'm a Norwich fan and expcting the worst. I think Pep wants Jesus to get a few for confidence ahead of CL.

Playing BB - trailing league leader by 33 who will play FH so VERY unlikely to catch - looking at switching out Button, Taylor and either Willian or Fernandes - who scores more:

    A. Pope, (Pieters, Dilva) and keep Willian for -8
    B. Martinez, (Pieters, Dilva) and keep Fernandes for -8

Leaning towards A at the moment

    Hi guys,

6pts behind 1st with a tc advantage. Who will win?

    My team (Subs):
    Martinez (De Gea)
    Tark/Doherty/Lundstram (Taylor inj, Saiss)
    DSilva, foden, KDB, Willian, Pulisic,
    Rashford, Ings (Jiménez)

    Vs

    Ederson
    Egan, Doherty Azpilicueta, tarkwoski, kilman
    Foden, KDB, martial, Fernandes, Saka,
    Vardy, Greenwood, Aubameyang

He may get Jesus or dsilva for Vardy or united midfielder.

Bardsley or Pieters? Everyone is going for Pieters it seems, but when I compared their stats there wasn't big difference and baps seem to prefer Bardsley.

0.1ml cheaper possibly slight reason. And straight swap for injured Taylor.

Part of a number of changes but which is better

    Mahrez -8

    Ings -4

    1. Dash444

Can’t see Mahrez getting 3 goals which surely would be only reason for risking -8 hit

Ings 100% plays as fighting for golden boot.

Mahrez rotation risk, but potential for a big haul of points if plays.

I would pick Ings as safer and reduced hits.

I'm behind the leader by 5 points in my mini league who will be on free hit, looking to bring in Dilva and Kane.

Current line up is Rahsford, Mahrez, Foden & Ings.

Option 1 is Kane Mahrez, Dilva and fodder for -8
Options 2 is Kane Dilva, Ings and bench Foden for -4

Anybody selling Salah for Sterling is mad, Newcastle are pants at the moment, we have a history of shipping big against Lpool and Salah loves scoring against us, he could very easily get four on Sunday.

Any last minute thoughts would be much appreciated here.

Scenario: I’ve been top of my mini league since January, and fairly clear. I had a few absolute shocker game weeks since the restart and now I’m currently second but behind by just two points. However, there are currently 12 points separating the top four (!!)

    GW plan
    Transfer out Fernandes/Jesus
    Transfer in Aubamayang/D Silva
    (-4 points)

    Team would be:
    Pope
    TAA Azpilicueta Wan Bissaka
    Pulisic KDB Mahrez Silva Antonio
    Aubameyang Ings

    Bench: Greenwood, Saiss, El Mohamedy

Here’s the big potential game changer - I still have my TC chip to play which could make or break my season in spectacular fashion!
So I’m thinking between D Silva (my heart) and Aubameyang or KDB (my head).

    Any other transfer/captain suggestions appreciated.

    Cheers and good luck all!
