Digne fit to start but King only among the subs despite Calvert-Lewin absence

Two sides with a pair of fixtures in Double Gameweek 24 meet on Merseyside this evening.

Fulham are Everton’s visitors, with kick-off at Goodison Park at 19:00 GMT.

The hosts are missing Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.7m) and Jordan Pickford (£4.8m), both of whom were ruled out by Carlo Ancelotti on Friday – but the duo could be back for the visit of Manchester City in midweek.

Another Everton asset who was carrying a flag in Fantasy Premier League, Lucas Digne (£6.1m), makes the starting XI tonight.

Ancelotti has made two changes from the Toffees’ previous Premier League outing, with Gylfi Sigurdsson (£6.8m) and Seamus Coleman (£4.8m) recalled.

Michael Keane (£5.1m) and Calvert-Lewin are the men to make way.

Despite Calvert-Lewin’s absence, new singing Joshua King (£5.5m) is only among the substitutes.

As for Fulham, deadline day signing Josh Maja (£5.5m) makes his full debut and takes the place of Ivan Cavaleiro (£5.3m).

Aleksandar Mitrovic (£5.5m) misses out after testing positive for COVID-19.

Ola Aina (£4.5m) for Antonee Robinson (£4.4m) is the only other change that Scott Parker has made from the Gameweek 23 draw against West Ham United.

Calvert-Lewin featured in the top three for both FPL transfers in and out in Gameweek 24, with those Fantasy managers making an early move to recruit the England international left short-changed by the forward picking up an injury in the EFL Cup in midweek.

Richarlison (£7.9m) picked up some of the slack, with 347,604 Fantasy bosses making the move for the Brazilian.

Everton XI: Olsen, Coleman, Holgate, Godfrey, Digne, Doucoure, Andre Gomes, Rodriguez, Davies, Sigurdsson, Richarlison.

Fulham XI: Areola, Tete, Andersen, Adarabioyo, Aina, Reed, Lemina, Reid, Loftus-Cheek, Lookman, Maja.

Would you WC this with a view to a GW 26 Bb?

    Martinez
    Dunk Cancelo Dallas
    Grealish Fernandes Sterling Salah Son
    Bamford Watkins

    Subs: Button, Dias, Dawson, Brewster

    Would mean:
    Button to Sanchez
    Dias to Shaw
    Dawson to Vestergaard
    Grealish to Raphina
    Salah to Gundogan
    Brewster to Ings
    Watkins to Kane

2FT and a bench that is slowly becoming an issue. Thoughts on Antonio & KWP to Ings & Strujic?
    Leaves me with this:

    Martinez
    Dias Cancelo Strujic
    Salah Bruno Son Grealish Gundo*
    Ings Bamford

    (Forster Mitchell Coufal Brewster)

Biggest question on my mind at the moment is whether we need both son and Kane for dgw26. I can get one in relatively easily but both will require hits.

Tempted to go for just Kane. What do others think?

take both, if Spurs score more than one goal in a game, you know both players are getting attacking points.

It's really tough to have both of them in dgw26.Also it's complicated with the Europa League games.Kane was out vs Bha and Che and played less minutes than Son in the fa cup game vs Eve.I think he is the safe pick.
Since January 28 until February 13 Son has played in all 6 games.(6 games in 17 days). Now they also have 4 days in 7 days.I guess he will get a rest away to Wolfsberger. On the other hand Europa League is their only viable target for this season.

Couple of absolutely stinking handball decisions in that Southampton wolves game. State of officiating is truly abysmal.

    1. Gabbiadini
      • 6 Years
      3 years, 2 months ago

The problem with the ruling is the "no clear and obvious error"
Abolish this and the consistency will improve.

At the moment we have a situation where the exact same handball action can be given both a penalty and not.

    WC, BB, TC remaining

    1 FT 3.6m ITB

    McCarthy Pope
    Stones Cancelo Lowton Dallas Coufal
    Soucek Bruno Salah Son Gundogan
    Adams Bamford Antonio

Not really sure how to play these next few GWs, I feel I could have a strong GW25 team with a couple of transfers (Soucek + Antonio > Raphinha + Ings) and then play my WC in 26, but then I'm a bit lost on when to use the BB.

My bench for 25 would probably be McCarthy/Pope - Adams Stones Coufal, would you consider that BB-able?

Interesting, I'm considering a BB of McCarthy/Pope Stones Antonio Coufal but don't think it's strong enough. Maybe the Adams double swings it for you but he hasn't exactly been banging in the goals.

      1. Il Capitano
        • 3 Years

Yeah, I'm not too sure on it either. I'd need to weigh it against a potential BB26 bench when the fixtures are confirmed. Would be nice to focus my funds into the starting XI on a WC though.

    Cancelo - Shaw - Dias
    Salah - Gundogan - Bruno - Son
    Ings - Kane - Bamford

This is just on the provision that he is

I would do Raph to Barnes instead of Bam to Vardy. Barnes is the in form player

If Cash is injured he’s the only other option

Wildcard and BB26 team (FH in hand)

    Martinez Areola
    Cancelo Shaw Targett Dallas Strujik
    Salah Bruno Sterling Gundogan Barnes
    Kane Bamford Maja

Transfer for 26 will be Dallas to DGW defender.

    Thoughts appreciated 🙂

Provisional team made with existing information ofcourse. DGW confirmation + Gundo injury news changes things.

      Looking great

Maja is very very knee jerk though! And any reason for Cancelo over Dias or Stones? Most likely to be rotated heavily right ?

Yeah its definitely kneejerk but surely he starts now? 5.5 DGW striker for an in form team that plays Palace. Also helps with benching headache in future (easier to bench than Watkins for example)

You are right Acc he may be a good option think I’ll consider him now and esp at such a great price

Will be at it for days lol

Also RE Cancelo, he outscores them in the long run imo even if he plays a little less. He is so attacking.

Bro is he kinda an overrated pick? 1 goal which everyone taught was offside and 1 assist due to a moment of magic from gundo

And that’s basically all his returns

This will be my team upon GW26,

    Martinez | Forster
    Cancelo | Stones | Dallas | Coufal | Mitchell
    Salah | Fernandes | Son | Grealish | Gundogan
    Vardy | Ings | Bamford

Thoughts, I am a little bit in the unknown at the moment in terms of my plans. TC, WC and FH I have all still for use.

To be honest it is an extra 1.0 that I can't find.
Vardy is the easier, attainable selection and I really like Leicester's upcoming fixtures. Looked great v Liverpool, could have had a hattrick.

£3.5mn itb and 2ft, what would you do?

As above Justin to Shaw seems a good move, what about the other transfer should I try get raphina too? Then I could do Antonio to Kane the week after..

    Martinez (areola)
    Dallas-mee-dias(stones, Justin)
    Son-bruno-salah-gundogan-grealish
    Ings-bamford-(Antonio)

Helps when you have the likes of Soucek on the end of your set pieces.

Going without Son or Salah on wildcard makes my bench boost so much better.

    Thoughts on dropping one?

Have Kane already tho and Spurs genuinely look awful and esp with Europa coming up

If you have Kane then yes as you have to go without one.
I currently don't have Kane but own Vardy.

I've considered this also and ideally would like to keep both but it may not be feasible. For me I would most likely drop Salah as I feel Son is better value for money but also means I would be left with no Pool players and a spurs double up with Kane, but it may be warranted with Liverpools form. It would also be much harder to get Salah back without a WC but I also think worst case Jota can somewhat cover him when he returns in a few weeks

I've got a high(ish) TV but still on a BB it's difficult to make it work with Kane & Son. I'm just going with Kane.

    Martinez, Forster
    Shaw, Cancelo, Dallas, Cresswell, Lowton
    Salah, Bruno, Gundo, Sterling, Grealish
    Cavani, Antonio, Bamford

What do you reckon to Grealish and Antonio to Raphina and Ings?
