GW 7 Allsvenskan Fantasy – Ones to Watch Double Gameweek Special

The first Double Gameweek of the season is here! Malmö FF and Elfsborg both play twice in GW7. I’ve selected some of the most promising picks regardless of the chip strategy you are planning to choose. Some of the best DGW assets have already been discussed in previous articles, so feel free to take a look. I’ve included a differential player with a single gameweek who can offer value for money in the (near) future.

Tim Rönning (6.0)

It’s always difficult to justify a goalkeeper transfer, particularly when the likes of Nilsson Säfqvist (4.7) and Mitov Nilsson (5.1) represent good value for money. However, goalkeepers with a DGW tend to stand out and Rönning has done it in the past (last season) despite conceding. Elfsborg haven’t been as solid as last season and the loss of Joseph Okumu (6.4) is a big one, but they managed to keep their second clean sheet of the season away to Sirius in GW6. Rönning came away with 7 points. Johann Larsson (8.0) and Simon Strand (5.6) can still be considered the best defensive options from Elfsborg, but if you are not planning to activate Park-the-Bus chip, he can be a great differential. Owned by merely 2.5% of managers, Rönning can be relied upon to deliver save points and there’s a chance he can keep at least one clean sheet.

Jonas Knudsen (7.2)

The Danish left-back goes into the ones-to-watch selection for the second time this season. Out of all Malmö defenders, he is the one with more guaranteed game time and that’s crucial when choosing a DGW player in virtually every fantasy football game out there. While it is true that Malmö haven’t kept a clean sheet so far this season, they are under pressure. If they are to defend their title, they need to show some defensive prowess. Kalmar FF have been a completely different team from the one that struggled last season: they haven’t lost yet, but the visit to the Swedbank Stadion will be the real test. The 29-year-old defender has lost some form recently. He has been more conservative in the last two gameweeks and that has negatively influenced his bonus points output, but with two home games in a row it is difficult to ignore the former Ipswich Town man, who can hit double digits for the first time this season.

Abdelrahman Saidi (4.8)

The Degerfors IF midfielder can be the perfect enabler for those who are willing to get more DGW players. Saidi may have played only 209 minutes this season but he’s managed to deliver one goal and one assist during that period. While at Superettan, he scored 7 goals and delivered 8 assists for Norrby IF in 26 games. He’s started just one game so far this season: he was given the nod against Norrköping and he rewarded the manager’s faith in him with an equalizer. The ex-Norrby IF man sits in under 1.0% of all Allsvenskan Fantasy teams and has the potential to become the most enticing budget midfielder if he is given more gametime. Degerfors IF will entertain Örebro in GW7, a side that has conceded 10 goals this season.

Anders Christiansen (12.3)

The Danish international may be an obvious pick almost every gameweek, but, in a gameweek in which some managers are likely to play the “Park the Bus” chip, he can be a powerful asset to captain. He has only scored one goal so far this season via the penalty spot, but his bonus points output remains constant. He’s joint-top for big chances among all midfielders and he has rewarded managers with at least one defensive bonus point in almost every game. For those who want to attack the DGW by playing the two captains chip, he is definitely the best pick on paper as he ticks all the boxes.

Marokhy Ndione (5.4)

Only Samuel Adegbenro (7.8) has scored more goals than the in-form Elfsborg striker. While it is true that Frick has a “higher ceiling” as he is on penalties, Ndione is attractive because of his budget-friendly price tag. The injury of Rasmus Alm (7.9) has boosted Ndione’s chances of starting both games. He has accumulated 10 shots on target this season and he’s the biggest scoring threat for the Borås team. In addition, he seems to have created a solid partnership with teammate Per Frick (8.3), who is playing the assister role at times. The budget forward can be an enabler for those who are looking to buy a defender with two games. He may have a difficult fixture away to Malmö but his explosiveness cannot be overlooked.

He's on two yellow cards already, so if you happen to have only one playing striker, he can be a risky pick!

Great picks Gerardo. Reassuring to see AC and Knudsen in there as an owner. Knudsen’s been a bit disappointing since I brought him in, but hopefully he can pick up some form in the double.

Just seen Adegbenro’s flagged - one to keep an eye on.

The Adegbenro injury doesn't look good. Let's wait for news, but I don't think he will make it! Downgrading him can be a good option. Also, I agree, perfect time for the Malmö assets to pick up some form, indeed. Last chance saloon for them. Good luck, man! Its great to have a community to discuss Allsvenskan Fantasy.

    Hi Gerardo ,

Nice Options to go for on your article.

This are my 2 cents for this GW.

Sebastian Ring 5.6 DEFENDER Kalmar FF - He is on Fire as all Kalmar Team Clean Sheet and Attacking + Defending Bonus points. Selected by only 6.9% 41 Points . He has 2 difficult fixtures Malmo FF (Away) , Hammarby (Home) . He has a lot of potential.

David Serger 5.9 MIDFIELD OSK He is playing Great - Attacking Bonus Points. Selected by only 1.6% - 31 Points He is Top player on his team. Next 2 games Degerfors (Away) , Malmo FF (Home)

If their fixtures were easier they would easily make this selection. I considered Seger. I like his creativity. I expect big things from him this season. One to monitor for sure.

    Hi!
..And tnx for a great article.

    Question-
If I use the ”park the bus”-chip, is it best to use a defender as ”cap” or will players in midfield generate the same amount of points? For ex.AC.

Looks like many picking the same players,Strand,Knudsen,Ahmedhod.
Is there any other players in MFF that a sure to play both games?

Best of luck to U all!

Hi mate. Not sure if I understood your question but if you use park the bus you have no captain for that game week I think. Sorry if I misunderstood your question but hope that helps

Hey! The above explanation is right! PTB is probably the most powerful chip out there if wisely used. Basically all your defenders will be "captains". And yes, those are template picks and rightly so.They are likely to deliver. Rotation is a huge problem when it comes to Malmö. E. Larsson (I described him n the previous article) has a chance to play both too.

Tnx Gerardo7 and also to MMM Sausages!

      It’s a strong chip!
I need a win in my versus-league with my friends, and also the points.
I’m sitting on one MFF and one IFE defender. Bringing E.Larsson(like G7 suggested) and Römer, taking -4p.
Is it worth taking -8 to swap Colley to Brorsson also and of course playing PTB?

      Always grateful for your help!

Actually, doubles are quite rare in Allsvenskan, last season there were a few but that's very unusual. The most likely scenario from what I've been hearing is there is no other DGW but don't quote me on that 😉 Would take either some big Covid outbreak or a postponement through Sweden making it big in the Euros.

        Hi Petter

Looks like I'll have to play my WC, it's that or a -12. Just going to wait until your scout picks come up and I'll check out your recommendations.

Any word on Adegbenro's injury, would be good to keep him.

Adegbenro is said to have done some light training. It's better to wait for more news but it sounds like a cameo from the bench is likely.

Scout picks are on the website thanks Petter, I've got six of your picks this week in my WC. Larsson (C) for me as well though you would imagine AC will be heavily backed with the armband. Have punted on Rieks for the double and kept Adegbenro.

Hello Meltens, what would you lean towards Witry if using the PTB chip? Keep, or bring in a DGW player?

Cheers, but a couple of late changes as Rieks is now red flagged and Adegbenro may not start. As I'm on a WC they are out and with a bit of shuffling in come Ahmedhodzic at the back plus Hussein and Stefanelli of AIK.

Playing a 5-2-3 formation this week with Larsson still (C). Six DGW players and clasping tightly to my lucky horseshoe, my four-leaf clover and I've given our cat a kick! (All things meant to bring good luck in British culture. The cat doesn't look too happy about it but, hey, take one for the team Tigger!)

            Good luck mate.

Meltens is right. My view is that, even with the possibility of another dgw, this is a good chance to play a chip, preferably PTB or two captains.

Brought in Hussein & Stefanelli, myself. Think they both have a case to be included in ones-to-watch this week, Hussein especially as a differential vs. OFK.

AIK have a fantastic run of fixtures and, even though Seb Larsson is suspended this week, I think they'll do some damage. Hussein loves a long shot, really don't know a lot about him but he seems to be as box-to-box as a midfielder gets. Hangs around on the edge of the box, loves a piledriver (7 shots in the last 2 games, I believe - sometimes the highlight names suggest a shot when really it's simply a poor cross), and has a darting run into the box in his locker. Stefanelli needs no explanation, he shoots for fun and occupies some fantastic positions in the AIK team - am surprised he hasn't exploded already. Over the last 2 he's shown some tendencies to drift wide on occasion, but even provided an assist from a wide area on the left last GW. An absolute must-have for me. If I wasn't playing park the bus, it'd be two captains on AC & Stefanelli.

I agree, particularly when it comes to Stefanelly, he's been unlucky to score only one goal. The loss of Adegbenro has come at the right time to get him as a replacement. I bought Abdulzarak recently and I kinda regret it, Hussein is a better option given the potential you've just mention. He's good at getting bonus too.

I also had Abdulrazak on the watchlist until recently, so can see why you went there. Went Löfquist before he'd returned, now switched to Hussein before he has... seems I have a punt spot in my eleven.

    Witry - Knudsen - Nilsson - Jallow
    Haksabanovic - Sana - Ludwigson - Heintz

It’s finally here, Double Gameweek 7! Are you chipping it out or going with just a regular captain? Many will be tempted by the PTB-chip, even if Malmö’s defence hasn’t been great and it’s hard to guarantee two starts.

Great picks! First double gameweek of the season, exciting stuff. One transfer for me from Jallow to Strand to try and capitalise on the dgw. Good opportunity to use a chip. I think I’m going to go with Two Captains on AC and J. Larsson.

      Good luck all!

It's a keep for me. Hammarby haven't been up to it defensively as of late, & Djurgarden as a whole have looked solid. I think returns are on the cards at both ends of the pitch.

I own Witry & Nilsson with SGWs but am using park the bus - I think both can outscore a 2nd MFF defender (aside Knudsen) given rotation risk, Ahmedhodzic being a YC from suspension, & MFFs uncertainty at the back so far. I'd also put Otieno in that category as being able to outscore a DGW defender this week.

Thanks! Witry can get attacking returns on set pieces too, so go without him is a risk. Djurgården have been solid too, as you mention.

2FT: Löfquist & Adegbenro to Hussein & Stefanelli. AIK fixtures just too good to resist, and had my eye on Stefanelli for a while now - love an ambitious shooter, and he certainly is that. Hussein, also, has racked up the shots as of late and has looked confident on the ball in some good areas, so he joins having seen Löfquist drop to a slightly deeper role since signing him. Of course, the penalty miss does not help. Will be scrambling to fit Adegbenro back in once he's back to full fitness.

    GW7: Nilsson Säfqvist, (Påhlsson);
    Nilsson (K), Witry (K), J.Larsson (K), Knudsen (K), Strand (K);
    Sana, AC, Hussein, (Kpozo, Carlén);
    Colak, Stefanelli, (Vilhelmsson).

Another small red arrow to 155th in GW6 - quite happy to have held on to the strong start to this extent. Park The Bus seemed the obvious chip for GW7, so here goes nothing. Otherwise, AC or Stefanelli would have taken the armband. Good luck all.
