Comparing Alexander-Arnold and Robertson’s FPL points potential for 2021/22

Just one point separated Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.5m) and Andrew Robertson (£7.0m) last season but the former remains more expensive than the latter in Fantasy Premier League ahead of 2021/22.

Ever since the two Liverpool full-backs emerged as premium defenders, their hefty prices have often forced managers to decide which one is more worthy of investment.

Only Stuart Dallas scored more points among defenders than the pair last season but their latest prices have, once again, made a double-up a challenging prospect for our budgets.

Accordingly, ahead of the new campaign, we have compared Robertson and Alexander-Arnold for creativity and goal threat to see if either has the edge over the other.

As this article uses extensive data from the Fantasy Football Scout Premium Members Area, only those with a valid subscription can access it in full – but there’s a completely free trial available now for those are wanting to try before they buy.

Saka can be decent in attack but can also play wingback. Essentially starting 3.5 attack-minded players v the Czech Republic at home. They're not playing the Brazil 1970 team. I have Schick so not happy ye will park the double-decker 🙂

Saka is an attacking player, he just played wing back because Arsenal had no one else other than Tierney.

I know that. Just amplifying the pragmaticness (it's a wordish) of Southgate. Fair play, I like the man. If it gets Maguire more match fit and England further in the tournament more power to him. Entertaining football is for television, getting results to progress is what matters.

Raphinha (mun, EVE, bur) or Buendia (wat, NEW, BRE) to start with? Obviously prefer Raph over the season but can easily make the swap after Villa's juicy home games.

    1. Camzy
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I don't think Raphinha is going anywhere in my team tbh. He's clearly undervalued, tried and tested and if anything, he underdelivered last season.

      1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus
        • 14 Years

+100 Raphinia hopefully set for big things - looked a special player last year

Agreed with both comments but that doesn't necessarily mean he's better for the first 3 GWs.

            • 14 Years
            2 years, 9 months ago

Not for one second will I personally be entertaining the thought of trying to get better than Raphinia for 3x gameweeks and booking a FT

He could have Bayern/PSG/Atletico in the first 3 weeks and still be good enough to get returns

He actually has Old Trafford (Leeds scored 2 there last year), managerless Everton at home, and Turf Moor (Leeds scored 4 there last year) which aren’t terrible at all

Then Anfield (they scored 3 there with VVD playing) in GW4 before the “turn” in GW5

He’s a player I can be patient with if needs be

    Nailed on PL players folks?

    For me its:

    Fernandes
    Salah
    Watkins
    Fofana
Sanchez if we know he is Brighton's no.1

Obviously really like the look of Digne, Toney, Shaw but not sure they are a look.

Doubt I'll be going near KDB or Kane...

Maddison (£7.0) and Sarr (£6.0) look good value.

      Sanchez

      Salah
      Grealish
      Raphinia
      Watkins
+ Two of (Antonio, Nacho, Wilson, DCL, Bamford)

A load of rotating 4.5 defenders to complete the squad (A few of Lamptey, Ayling, Taylor, Coady, Fofana, White etc)

Tammy needs to be mid-table/bottom-half, and playing every week - that’s his level

        About 130

He’d have lost 36 on cleansheets and 8 on goals, with probably another 6-7 lost on baps

Then he’d have gained 13 from goals conceded deductions

I.e. he’d be about 15-20 points behind Soucek from last season
