Calvert-Lewin misses out as Everton host Burnley

In the final match of Gameweek 4, Everton hope to go four games unbeaten when they entertain Burnley at Goodison Park.

Kick-off is at 20:00 BST.

The big news for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers is that there is no Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£8.2m) in the matchday squad.

Toffees manager Rafa Benitez provided an update prior to kick-off:

As a result, it looks like a potential back-three formation for Everton, with Richarlison (£7.5m) leading the line and new signing Salomon Rondon (£6.0m) on the bench.

Captain Seamus Coleman (£5.0m) starts after the hamstring injury he suffered on international duty turned out to be minor, Fabian Delph (£4.4m) misses the game with a shoulder injury, while James Rodriguez (£6.9m) sits out due to match fitness issues.

As for Burnley, club record-signing Maxwel Cornet (£6.0m) is a substitute, with Sean Dyche sticking with the same starting XI that drew with Leeds United in Gameweek 3.

Connor Roberts (£4.5m), Nathan Collins (£4.4m) and Dale Stephens (£4.5m) are all missing from the matchday squad.

LINE-UPS

Everton XI: Pickford, Godfrey, Keane, Mina, Coleman, Allan, Doucoure, Digne, Gray, Townsend, Richarlison

Subs: Begovic, Kenny, Holgate, Iwobi, Gomes, Gordon, Gbamin, Davies, Rondon

Burnley XI: Pope, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, Gudmundsson, Westwood, Brownhill, McNeil, Barnes, Wood

Subs: Hennessey, Cork, Rodriguez, Lennon, Cornet, Pieters, Barnsley, Vydra, Thomas

Actually, on reflection I'm being harsh. I might have favoured the attacker also.

Last week I had the chance to get Lukaku & 4.5 fodder or DCL + Greenwood.
Now I've got Antonio and DCL reg flagged, another chance to get Lukaku & 4.5 fodder

Yeah, but the thing is do I repeat the same thing as last time or go all in on a nailed reliable premium asset
I'm leaning towards the premium option, coz in the long run they'll outscore most mid priced forwards by a long margin

I'm very tempted to do the insane move and go for Jesus as DCL replacement.

How crazy is it? I have no other City cover for SOU.

i think depends on City's UCL game and the player performances really. If Mahrez starts and plays poorly, then I'd be tempted too tbh

Don't like Jimi. Bamford better. But think City will put SOU to the sword and if Jesus starts, he can easily have a double digit score.

I think the SOU game justifies taking a chance at Pep Roulette.

Currently on Torres myself, so doubling up is not an option.

Burnley are a voodoo team for FPL picks so far.

    GW1: Bundles over Maupay/Brighton CS.
    GW2: Salah stopped.
    GW3: Raphinha rattled.
    GW4: DCL damaged
    GW5: ???

I'll probably be subbing in White for Antonio so given its Arsenal its bound to be calamitous!

Not so sure if this is a no brainer WC....

    A) Yes it is
    B) Bruno & DCL -> Salah(c) & Jimenez (-4) - leaves enough cash for Kane -> CR7 in GW6 (then WC in GW7 to load up on CHE)

    Sanchez
    Trent, Shaw, White, Veltman
    Bruno*, Greenwood, Benrahma, Barnes
    Kane, DCL*

    Steele, Brownhill, Tsimikas, Antonio

        But but but....

        DCL goes with the hit
        Barnes has bha/BUR next
        Kane loves a derby
Antonio is still probably a hold despite the 1 game ban
Ronny in for AVL and the players I'd likely get on a WC (CHE) have tot/MCY next so no major rush

Really? Who else is critical this week? I'm on the fence and don't think this is too bad for a -4. Delaying also gives more info and means I can avoid the difficult CHE.

        Sanchez
        Trent, Shaw, White, Veltman
        Salah(c), Greenwood, Benrahma, Barnes
        Kane, Jimenez

and then Kane -> CR7 (maybe captain) in GW7

You'll just be playing catch-up the whole time.

Also, WC in 7 is great for fixture swing but it's also the week before the IB. Could be disastrous if there are injuries the week after.

You should almost ignore most managerial chat, most of them hate giving information out.

That Dean Smith and Grealish ridiculousness last season is a prime example. Ole is terrible at it as well.

They have no interest answering journo questions straight on so just give vague generic answers.

random 1-1 from two low owned scorers would be perfect 😛

Had as good a chance you can ask for for a 4.5m midfielder.

    DCL,Antonio >> Jesus,Bamford -4?

DCL injury has absolutely ruined me, already wildcarded, Antonio out and sacked off last nights rises, now I’m thinking DCL, Jota, Greenwood out for Lukaku, Raphina Gray/Gallagher (-8)
    Should I do it?

Wouldn't suggest. Sounds knee-jerk. Just replace DCL with Bamford/Jimenez imo if u have playing bench.

Any Arsenal fans out there? Looking to WC and wondering if Ramsdale might keep his place.

Everton v Burnley has the look of a nil nil classic.
