Calvert-Lewin misses out as Everton host Burnley

In the final match of Gameweek 4, Everton hope to go four games unbeaten when they entertain Burnley at Goodison Park.

Kick-off is at 20:00 BST.

The big news for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers is that there is no Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£8.2m) in the matchday squad.

Toffees manager Rafa Benitez provided an update prior to kick-off:

As a result, it looks like a potential back-three formation for Everton, with Richarlison (£7.5m) leading the line and new signing Salomon Rondon (£6.0m) on the bench.

Captain Seamus Coleman (£5.0m) starts after the hamstring injury he suffered on international duty turned out to be minor, Fabian Delph (£4.4m) misses the game with a shoulder injury, while James Rodriguez (£6.9m) sits out due to match fitness issues.

As for Burnley, club record-signing Maxwel Cornet (£6.0m) is a substitute, with Sean Dyche sticking with the same starting XI that drew with Leeds United in Gameweek 3.

Connor Roberts (£4.5m), Nathan Collins (£4.4m) and Dale Stephens (£4.5m) are all missing from the matchday squad.

LINE-UPS

Everton XI: Pickford, Godfrey, Keane, Mina, Coleman, Allan, Doucoure, Digne, Gray, Townsend, Richarlison

Subs: Begovic, Kenny, Holgate, Iwobi, Gomes, Gordon, Gbamin, Davies, Rondon

Burnley XI: Pope, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, Gudmundsson, Westwood, Brownhill, McNeil, Barnes, Wood

Subs: Hennessey, Cork, Rodriguez, Lennon, Cornet, Pieters, Barnsley, Vydra, Thomas

Why would you get rid of Jota right now? Surely you have someone that's worse value to move on from?

Bruno and Toney to Raphinha and Ronaldo.

Jumped the gun because I was scared of a Toney rise and Ronaldo fall.

I don't think you need to WC. Assuming everyone comes for this gw fit (other then Antonio) you'll be able to get a decent 11 out.

Im in a similar rut with DCL and Antonio after a -4 to get Ronaldo, I'm WC'ing (original plan was GW7). Getting my Chelsea players in now because Spurs have no CB's.

I have pulled the trigger on almost exactly the same team (I went for Lukaku rather than Ronaldo for my own -4).

Have made a lot of changes, current draft:

      Ramsdale Gunn

      TAA Shaw Marcal Livramento Williams

      Salah Greenwood Raphinha Jota Sissoko

      Lukaku Bamford Antonio

0.4 ITB to do Shaw to James in a couple of weeks.

Ramsdale is an interesting shout. Is that his job now?

Also, I'm impressed that you have the restraint to not bring in Ronaldo and going 3 premiums.

I don't think Ronaldo is good value over the medium term given his price and fixtures. The time to bring him in was for Newcastle - I didn't, I went Ings for DCL and saved myself a hit. Didn't go very well!

Sky Sports and Neville really made a fool of themselves didn't they. I don't think anyone objectively thinks Ronaldo is better than Messi. I hate the little midget for the amount of times he's done us in but he's the best in the world by far and it's not even close

Maybe not, maybe Neville genuinely believes there's a debate to be had about who is the GOAT.

But Sky hyping up CR7 to such an extent has its monetary advantages.

The TV deals have already been done. By the time the news deals are being brokered Ronaldo may have retired. I don't think you've thought this through.

Don't think you have either. The deals that have been brokered are between the FA and TV broadcasters. Sky has the rights to about 160 games and are selling it to customers. More customers = more money

Agreed. Also, utterly ridiculous to exclude a CL and his Intl trophies. Gary's biggest point was that CR's the more complete scorer lmao, yet even then Messi has the better goal to game ratio.

I hate the best ever questions. It's impossible.

Who wins Sugar Ray Leonard or Floyd Mayweather
      Pete Sampras or Roger Federer
Jordans 1996 Chicago Bulls or Magic Johnsons 86 Lakers.

Who is the best player Ronaldo or Messi?

We are all so obsessed with these things that we don't really enjoy the greatness of them. All have given incredible sporting moments and we are all lucky to witness it. There is no answer to the above questions because it doenst matter.

It’s not bad. A -4 can get you Ronaldo or Lukaku a cheap Everton and Dier to a wolves defender.

I’d probably lean Antonio and Fernandes out and try to hold the wildcard 1-2 more weeks.

I was very similar to you last week. Eventually went -8 after Son news and got 80 points. The wildcard is so powerful and if you can limp to GW7 then gives so many options

    Ronaldo, Lukaku, Edouard

    (B)
    Ramsdale, 4.0
    TAA, Shaw, Livramento, Marcal, Williams
    Salah, Pogba, Gray, Bissouma, Jota
    Ronaldo, Lukaku, 4.5

Played 6 mins - all people see is the points and he's been in multiple WC on here.

No idea tbh. I know very little about him except that he'll score 70 goals this season.

          https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/chris-sutton-revels-odsonne-edouard-24967986

But seriously, I doubt he'll be benched. He has a very good record with Celtic and he's surely earned a place with those goals?

      oof.
A has a lot of sacrifices to get the Forwards you want.

B only has half a starting keeper.

A has all players that play, but quite a few cheap options there.

B has slightly better quality, but some non players

I really want TAA, Salah, Ronaldo and Lukaku in a wildcard. I don't know where to sacrifice. It looks like Gray is definitely worth it at least short term (for price rises)

does anyone have any info on Reece James? wondering if there is anything I can read about him recently, wondering if hes going to get minutes.....would love to bring him in. thanks in advance

no need to bring him reece till week 7

He's probably their most nailed fullback when fit, while not 100% of course. I think Tuchel will use him as much as he can without burning him out. He'll be nicely rested too. And has a pretty decent attacking upside.

I guess Gray is key to getting Ronaldo and Lukaku up front then.

If you want Salah and/or TAA as well, there's really not much options but to go cheap everywhere else.

Yeah. Seems like Gray should basically be a 7M midfielder anyway.

Really disappointed by the DCL injury today. I'm 2nd in my league and this was my perfect opportunity to close the gap/take over. Sigh.

Anyways, who should I change DCL to? Got 8.8 to spend.

Jimenez a good option too. He has a good run of fixtures and a decent price. To be honest, I think all of those 'could' do well.

      James, less competition for starts.

But it's worth considering James and Chilwell, Alonso's form will inevitably drop, and Chilwell rarely got subbed on last season when not starting so just have a decent enough bench.

    A)Sarr (Nor new Leeds)
    B)Gray (avl nor)

    Which one would you do?

I already selected my WC draft yesterday, but tonight has confirmed for me that this is definitely the best template now.

    Ramsdale
    TAA | Shaw | Rüdiger | Laporte
    Salah | Raphinha | Benrahma | Gray
    Ronaldo | Lukaku

I'd downgrade Laporte (bound to get Pepped) + Rudiger and bring in Bambam + two rotating 4.5's for a 343

Bendtner wasn’t a bad striker tbf. He is also in the Guinness book of records but he is definitely not the best ever striker at Arsenal, that belongs to Thierry Henry!!!
