Gameweek 12 continues with Manchester City v Everton at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon.

Kick-off is at 14:00 BST.

Ruben Dias (£6.1m) and Gabriel Jesus (£8.7m) drop to the bench for Pep Guardiola’s side, with Kevin De Bruyne (11.8m) and Jack Grealish (£7.7m) missing out completely due to Covid and a minor knock respectively.

As a result, 19-year-old Cole Palmer (£4.5m) makes his first Premier League start, and is joined in the starting XI by Aymeric Laporte (£5.5m) – who is available again after suspension – and Raheem Sterling (£10.6m).

Elsewhere, Phil Foden (£8.3m) has overcome a leg problem and could lead the line, while Joao Cancelo (£6.5m), who has been directly involved in seven goals in 17 games in all competitions for City this term, features at left-back.

Everton are unchanged from Gameweeek 11, with Andros Townsend (£5.6m), Anthony Gordon (£4.5m) and Demarai Gray (£5.7m) supporting Richarlison (£7.4m) in Rafa Benitez’s 4-2-3-1 formation.

For next week assuming Jota is fit:
Livra & Raphinha to Jota & Johnson (-4)
Time to bank my 0.3 on Livra while his fixtures sour? Johnson looks nailed for now? Will be on the bench anyway.
I expect a Jota return and I expect a Raph blank.

    Thoughts?

If you want to spread the funds and get a player a team is built around get ESR/Gallagher.

Not thinking just of this match, just wondering if it’s worth keeping him for above 8 mill when budget options like Gallagher/ESR delivers at the same level. And spend the extra funds elsewhere:

        Sanchez Steele
        TAA, James, Rudiger, White, Livra
        Salah, Jota, Foden, Raphina, Sissoko
        Kane, Jimenez, Broja

        1.2 in the bank

Yeah - I think the rule is with Man City prepare for a 1 point, no show, or double digit score.
A half decent first sub is a must. Think it works better with defenders. I am surprised more have not picked Walker for example he looks fairly dangerous.

Whatever the score is by 65 minutes played will probably decide it.

City winning 3-0 and he may bring on Dias to just secure the cleansheet.

0-0 and he may just go full attacking to win it.

Brentford against an Everton team without DCL Richarlison and Gray that's good for anyone who owns Brentford players

I think the opposite Everton will just set up as hard to beat. Brentford not known for technical nous - so should be easier.
All you need v Brentford is a good solid defence and decent centre backs.
I am likely benching Toney and Mbeumo because of that.

"All you need v Brentford is a good solid defence and decent centre backs" --> which Everton doesn't have.

Last call for toney & mbeumo.

          • 16 Years
          4 years, 1 month ago

Well the way Everton are playing against City. Toney would do well to get anything. And Mbeumo would do well to hit the post/crossbar. Everton look extra solid to me as they have no choice but to be compact.

I got Toney and Mbeumo in for that 'easy run' gw 10. Toney has only got me 1 goal and no bonus. Mbeumo has done nothing. Meanwhile Canos got double digits the last game.

I think the Leeds and Watford games are much more appealing games than the Everton one. I will be holding Toney and Mbeumo until then.
