2pm kick-off team news: Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Jota + Firmino all start for Liverpool

Following the postponement of Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal, there are now just two Premier League matches taking place on Sunday – Liverpool v Brentford and West Ham United v Leeds United.

Both games kick-off at 14:00 GMT.

Jurgen Klopp makes six changes from his side’s 2-2 draw at Chelsea, with Alisson, Joel Matip, Andrew Robertson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Curtis Jones and Roberto Firmino coming in for Caoimhin Kelleher, Ibrahima Konate, Kostas Tsimikas, James Milner, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Harvey Elliott, Nathaniel Phillips, Divock Origi and Thiago Alcantara remain on the injury list, whilst Salah, Mane and Naby Keita are at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

For Brentford, wing-back Rico Henry returns to the starting XI in place of Sergi Canos, in the only change from Tuesday’s 4-1 loss at Southampton.

Josh Dasilva, David Raya, Charlie Goode and Zanka are still out, while Frank Onyeka is on AFCON duty.

Elsewhere, David Moyes sticks with the same team that defeated Norwich City in Double Gameweek 21.

That means Manuel Lanzini should continue in a deeper-lying role alongside Declan Rice, with Tomas Soucek and Mark Noble still absent from the matchday squad.

Meanwhile, with Vladimir Coufal and Aaron Cresswell the starting full-backs once again, it does look like Ben Johnson’s stint in the first-team is over, at least for now.

Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma are on the sidelines, while Said Benrahma is at AFCON.

As for Leeds United, Pascal Struijk and Daniel James replace Diego Llorente and Tyler Roberts, who are both suspended, whilst Patrick Bamford isn’t in the squad despite recovering from injury.

Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper, Jamie Shackleton, Charlie Cresswell and Joe Gelhardt all remain out through injury.

DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 22 LINE-UPS

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Jota, Firmino

Subs: Kelleher, Konate, Milner, Gomez, Minamino, Tsimikas, Gordon, Williams, Morton

Brentford XI: Fernandez, Ajer, Jansson, Pinnock, Roerslev, Janelt, Norgaard, Baptiste, Henry, Mbeumo, Toney

Subs: Lossl, Canos, Jensen, Forss, Wissa, Ghoddos, Bidstrup, Bech Sorensen, Stevens

West Ham United XI: Fabianski, Coufal, Dawson, Diop, Cresswell, Rice, Lanzini, Bowen, Fornals, Vlasic, Antonio

Subs: Yarmolenko, Areola, Fredericks, Masuaku, Johnson, Kral, Okoflex, Alese, Perkins

2 goals in 7 to be fair but still I agree it’s premature. Norwich and Burnley in next 4

Hold and reassess when Salah back, could have scored today. Then it's Robbo or Jota basically.

When Salah is back yes. Triple up with TAA, Robbo, Salah. So many good mid options but less in defence now. I'm gonna be going 4-5-1 with Cancelo and Ait-Nouri.

Last time I brought nouri in he got injured in the warm up , he didn’t play for 3 games so I took him out and then he gets an 11 points haul his first game back

In all the years of doing FPL I’ve can honestly say I’ve never had more than 5 points from bench boost chip since it got introduced . It’s the chip they never works for me ever .
Out of 4 players on bench I generally have 1 that doesn’t end up playing, 1 that gets booked or only plays 1 half

I think a lot of people read ronaldo wasn’t actually going to be fit and thought Bruno plays better without ronaldo in the team and have 2 pretty favourable fixtures against teams

The only half decent midfield option when all the other games were called off/in doubt. Would have been in 90% fewer teams had circumstances been different.

The lucky ones that didn't have Ron already in team and wanted a Son replacement.

I’m getting rid of him next gameweek regardless of what happens this week, though I’m rather hoping he doesn’t play as have KDB as vc. I’ll do Ronnie/Gray to Coutinho/Denni next gameweek and that leaves me with plenty money to do Jota to Salah in GW24, or whenever he’s back

Son + Antonio > Jota + Ronaldo (-4) maybe my worst double transfer ever if this is true.

If Rangnick had simply said “Ronaldo is out”, would have been Son > Bruno and captain instead. Very close to pushing the wildcard button.

Playing for the best defence in the league so sood for CS and a goal threat at set pieces. Also looks the main CB this season especially on the left side

All good options if there is a the Villa DGW
I do like Robbo especially when TAA's ownership is 100% so you get no benefit from a LIV CS otherwise (and they have BUR and NOR coming up)
Ait Nouri really good value, like him for this week. Wolves do play tougher teams for the 4 after that though.
Villa not convinced they offer that much CS potential but decent fixtures
          Laporte looks a great option
Feels like the ideal backline is TAA, Robbo, Laporte, Cancelo, Ait Nouri at this point

I feel I've criminally overlooked the Wolves defence but it might be too late now.
Villa have the best immediate run of fixtures.
Spurs have the most fixtures to catch up on (apart from clubs you wouldn't want a defender from).

A pity that KdB's price rose yesterday and it may cause issues for me later. But it looks like Cancelo, Laporte and KdB are the optimal MCI assets going forward. As has been seen, they are pretty reliable even as sgw assets. Yet, if Reguillon to Laporte is worth -4, I don't know. Then there is also the risk of being pepped.

You could make a case and go cheaper with Sterling or Foden over KDB.

With Spurs still having a few games still to be rearranged, Reguilon is probably still a hold

My backline is TAA, Cancelo, Reguillon, Keane, Cash. The biggest issue is money. Keane should go, but I can't afford him to Laporte, only Reg with exact money. The upside of having KdB over Foden is worth it imo.

Similar to the decision I need to make either go with DGW def or Laporte. Too much uncertainty with Reguilon for me to go there so I can see why you are looking to see him.

I can't see KDB being worth the extra 4m over Foden. He isn't on pens and that 4m can be used elsewhere

The way Raph played today and Citeh yesterday, i am pushing for Gundo to Raph and Alonso to Laporte. Fully agree with you and thinking the KDB move I will not be able to make with Foden and Cancelo already

If a manager says a player is available, what should we assume then? Not to mention in the Ronaldo case, that he said himself it’s something very minor. Don’t really get your point.

I will remind him on future that his pressers are purely for the benefit of your FPL team. He has not mislead you in the slightest. I repeat I think is a totally different statement to I know and he qualified this by adding the further training session . You are twisting this to suit your arguement rather than facing up to the facts.

You are correct in that ‘I think’ is not ‘I know’, however I am not twisting anything. There was a belief from the manager that Ronaldo was going to be available, when speaking 2 days before the game.

As Qaiss states do we just assume the opposite or never listen to team news, even though majority of time it is correct.

              Mine was a general point.

Specifically it was inconclusive from Rangnick and all depended on that afternoon's session.

Which we weren't privy to before the deadline.

              Unlike say Harry Maguire.

Going away from if RR was economical with the truth or not….

I looked at getting Ron in and capping for a hit but it was going to be a risk on a 36yo recovering from an injury who had 3 games in a week. Even if RR had said he was fine it was still a risk of reduced minutes. If you aleady had Ron then maybe that risk was more justified. But I honestly feel people just wished things to be fine which they clearly were not.

Who knows he may be OK by Weds and stick a hatty on Brentford. If you take risks you can get rewarded, depends how risk averse you play particularly in DGWs

Ait-Nouri is a great option but one that people never get around to buying as he is the 4th/5th defender position. Could be worth a hit at some stage.

Yes. But it's much more fun to fight it up from 1M to 100k than crawl from 12k to 5k.

        Best move for next week?

        A) Mount -> Raphinha
        B) Mount -> Coutinho
        C) Dalot -> Laporte

Guess the KDB + Jota switch to Foden + Salah will be popular in a few GWs

Ronaldo to a cheaper FWD and Jota to Salah more I think.

Is the 2 week break after next weekend for internationals or a winter break & if the later is there a chance games could be slotted in?

Bit of both I think. Some continents have internationals but domestic players don’t.

Raph will be off. But do you think Leeds will have enough to field 11? More postponements and adjustments.

Will Coutinho also be off meaning Villa would be unlikely to have a DGW?

Wondering what % of us Ronaldo captainers now don't want him to play?
Count me as a no; only have King as VC but will get Ramsey's 12pts off the bench.

          Really tricky one.
Man City probably player the best, but always the Pep roulette risk especially with Foden.
If Villa DGW confirmed, Coutinho fitness a bit of a concern, but could work alongside Watkins, Ramsey, even Digne!

43 (-4) with 6 games to go. Dropped from 100k gw19, to 250k now. Completely missed the WHU dgw21 news whilst on holiday, which means still no Bowen in my team. Need to build again...

Watching the Utd Villa game on highlights and Elanga looks really good and seems to give more energy to the attack. I assume he’ll be straight out when others are back but any chance he gets a run of games?
