Aston Villa v Liverpool team news: Salah benched, Robertson out

Double Gameweek 36 continues this evening and there is plenty of interest in both sides from a Fantasy Premier League (FPL) perspective.

Aston Villa v Liverpool gets underway at Villa Park at 20:00 BST.

Mohamed Salah finds himself among the substitutes for the visitors, while Andrew Robertson misses out completely.

Salah is the most-captained player of Gameweek 36 both overall and within the top 10,000, with 84.46% of the leading managers handing him the armband:

The premium pair are among five players who drop out of Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI from Saturday’s draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

Also making way are Ibrahima Konate, Jordan Henderson and Thiago, with Joel Matip, Kostas Tsimikas, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota taking their places.

Roberto Firmino makes his return as a substitute after six matches out with a foot injury.

Steven Gerrard, meanwhile, makes two changes from the 3-1 win at Burnley, including a recall for Philippe Coutinho against his former club.

Marvelous Nakamba also comes into the starting XI, with Calum Chambers and Emiliano Buendia dropping to the bench.

GAMEWEEK 36 LINE-UPS

Aston Villa XI: Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Mings, Digne, Nakamba, McGinn, Luiz, Coutinho, Ings, Watkins

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Tsimikas, Fabinho, Keita, Jones, Diaz, Jota, Mane

Cup final is before deadline so you should at least know a bit.
Pool likely to go into Soton game knowing goal difference is the only way they can win league (assuming City win two games before then) so I'd pick whoever of tonight's front three don't start the final

He will still probably get one start and be once subbed on, I think. That'll make 3-4 pts, so not sure weather to sell him for a hit for a sgw player. And if he is lucky, he is "due"...

Nah, Liverpool are not going to fall away. Halaand is only 21 and while I doubt it, could take time to settle. Will Tuchel get financial backing? I don’t think he is a bad manager overnight.

Thoughts on FH this week vs FH next week?

I can get this FH for 37 6 dbls (gambling on dbl villa/everton def is a risk, but good fixtures and upside!)
    Pickford
    Digne - Cash - Robbo - Mykolenko
    Salah - Mahrez(or Foden) - Son
    Richarlison - Kane - Watkins/Ings
Tsimikas (in case robbo benched) - Kdh - Brownhill

    Vs non FH 3 dbls.
    Schmeichel
    Robbo - Taa - Cancelo - Digne - Davies
    Salah - Kdb - Mount - Kulu
    Richarlison -
    Foster - Pukki - Dennis - Elanga

2nd one is no hits, and using 1ft (Alonso -> Digne)

It's pretty much use the FH to get Kane and Son for Burnley at home, or for Norwich away on the final day of the season.

I’d personally go FH 38. Not feeling optimistic about big gains next week and Spurs v Norwich could be a big result. And Burnley still got fight in them. But after messing up my last answer I’d take that with a pinch of salt

Sold Salah in GW34 on my wildcard really in an attempt to go against the template to gain rank. His returns since have been 6, 1, 2, 1. However my equivalent player De Bruyne hasn't outscored him by enough for it to be considered successful. De Bruyne does still in theory have another game but there is no guarantee he plays. So hard to get the differential tactic right. Not only do you need the well owned player to produce low returns which is a big ask in itself but you also need your equivalent players to bang. So hard and unlikely that both scenarios happen.

I captained Sterling the last 2 gws prior to this trying to be smart.
9 team goals - no involvement, and 1 extra cs point.
Sold this GW, and he proceeds to get 16 point haul. I brought in KDB for him, and captained him, so can only hope kev softens the blow somehow tomorrow

Are you factoring captaincy into it as well? If you kept Salah and captained him since GW34 you'd have 20pts, if you moved to KDB and captained you'd have 30pts plus another game to go (which he will play, there's no reason why he wouldn't)

I've only captained KDB once which is this week but also got 0 points from him last week when he didn't play and only got a 1pt sub. There has been some gain but unless KDB can do something tomorrow it's not really been significant enough.

You had 1.5m to spend in your squad too remember.

I did similar, but went with Son. Was a definite success, but I let myself down moving Son to Salah this week in fear of ML rivals.

Not unlikely. But need big balls to go against template.
Salah really should go after ManU game, he's not their talisman anymore.
Was thinking to move him to son (FA cup dependent & if watkins can play gw37). Most likely not in my FH38 squad.

he just runs into people now or shoots at opposition players...he's lost that extra bit of finesse and quality he had earlier in the season...been a long season for him though I suppose, he's only human after all. Definitely not worth the funds atm but too late to switch now, not worth a hit out

Diaz change things. Pool now has another goal outlet.
Then again, need big balls to go against template. Want to get rid of him in my WC34 & go mane/diaz but afraid of his ownership.

No reason for KDB to not play. He is their main man & City cant afford to slip up

on 34 WC I got in Jota and Sterling as differentials got 1 assist off them in total

This week I was looking at two options, Jota to Diaz for free or Jota and Sterling to Saka and Kdb -4

Guess which one I went for

    on a FH in 37.

    Rather have
    A) TAA & Foden
    B) Robbo & Mahrez

    35k at moment, and chasing.
