Everton v Brentford team news: Calvert-Lewin starts, Keane out

The final Premier League match of the day is another big one, both for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers and for those clubs embroiled in the battle to avoid the drop to the Championship.

Everton host Brentford, knowing that a win will ensure Premier League safety with two games to spare.

Kick-off at Goodison Park is at 16:30 BST.

Frank Lampard makes three changes to the Toffees team that drew 0-0 at Watford in midweek.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Andre Gomes and Jarrad Branthwaite all come into the side, with Demarai Gray dropping to the bench.

Fabian Delph is injured, while Michael Keane fell ill overnight and also misses out.

Brentford are unchanged from last Saturday’s 3-0 home victory over Southampton.

GAMEWEEK 37 LINE-UPS

Everton XI: Pickford, Iwobi, Coleman, Branthwaite, Holgate, Mykolenko, Gordon, Doucoure, Gomes, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.

    Guys I'm distraught

    DDG and sa in goal
    No cleanies in def
    No Leicester players
    Zaha cap
    Triple spurs attack

It's karma for all the mud feast hiding comments I make. Can't even make those after this debacle. Maybe next week will cheer me up until then no more 🙁

Team finishing top 4 matters most and Kane is a great penalty taker as seen by the finish today. Kane 87% success rate, Son has hardly taken any but has a 64% success rate.

No chance son will take a pen with spurs fighting for top 4. Only way son takes a pen if spurs are 3 up with 20 mins to go

Maybe if there wasn't anything else on the line but they're going for CL and Kane is probably best pen taker in the league. That pen was perfect. Saying that, they could have been 7-0 up and Kane would probably still have took it 🙂

    1. Philosopher's Stones
      • 3 Years

Doable, but a bit improbable. Chances depend on factors like chips left, which player both of you got and the differentials, nailing the C choice, and so on.

To have any sort of realistic chance you need to captain someone your rival doesn't have. There's definitely a chance.

Hard but doable. I'm 1st in my cash ML at the moment but have swapped leads 3 or 4 times over last month or so, and often with 25-50 point leads. You'll need to take a hit or two and captain a differential, hope Son blanks etc.

I watched the entire Spurs and Everton games thinking I had Son (C) when it was actually on Richarlson the whole time. Evidently forgot to hit "save" after I tried to move it from Rich to Son last night. Very pleasant surprise but totally undeserved.

After trailing my main ML (2nd, 3rd and 4th at different stages of the season) since the GW9 debacle, finally back in the lead of 11 points. And the lead will probably remain in the similar range given the players the top 3 of us have are almost similar due to FH. GW38 is going to be a nail biter.

Similar here. In game week 29 I was down 123 points to the leader. I've won every week (albeit) two weeks by one and three points. I just surpassed him and lead by 11 points. He has 4 players that are different from mine left to play (Son C) and I have 7 different from his (That's including Richarilson C) on a FH. His chips are gone and I have BB for 38 with at least two maybe 3 players that will be on my bench that play (Don't expect but 4-10 pts from it).

Picking the same C or if different nailing the right one may be crucial.

Best of luck to keep first place!

Who would you like the most to be your life partner (If you didn't/don't have one)?

Behind top 10k by 33 points right now... Basically need to make up another 15 points this GW to have any shot right?

I’d look at the whole picture rather than what you “need” this GW. Some of your GW38 players could haul, and if they have a low EO, propel you into the top 10k.

Ok who’s up for a challenge? I’ve got a FH for the final week with a budget of 105.3 Anyone fancy building me a team? Hanging onto a slender lead in my league.

Was thinking of Sess for Spurs but actually Lloris is arguably the best GK bet

Yeah Sess looks great tbh, I had him in my FH and want to keep him!

Think Mendy or Chelsea keeper perhaps?

Bowen merits a place. As does Maddison.

I like the Toney pick too.

      Raya, Foster
      Zinchenko, Schar, Alonso, Sess, Tsimikis
      Saka, Kenneh, KDB, Son, Salah*
      Kane, Nketiah, Tony

That was going to be my FH team in 38 until Salah looked like he wouldn't be playing this week and instead of taking a 16 pt hit I played my FH this week.

Your value is considerably greater than mine. Feel free to upgrade wherever you please.

*Not sure if he will be playing (starting) now.
