Southampton v Liverpool team news: Klopp decimates Fantasy squads

Liverpool travel to Southampton this evening knowing Manchester City will be champions if they lose.

Kick-off at St Mary’s Stadium is at 19:45 BST.

Jurgen Klopp has ripped up his usual team-sheet and makes nine changes from the side that started Saturday’s FA Cup final win over Chelsea.

Alisson and Ibrahima Konate are the only players who keep their place in the starting XI, which features Takumi Minamino, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino as the front-three.

Andrew Robertson and Luis Diaz are substitutes, while Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are not in the squad.

Ralph Hasenhuttl, meanwhile, makes five changes.

Alex McCarthy comes in for the injured Fraser Forster, while there are also starts for Lyanco, Jack Stephens, Mohamed Elyounoussi and Nathan Tella.

GAMEWEEK 37 LINE-UPS

Southampton XI: McCarthy, Walker-Peters, Lyanco, Stephens, Salisu, Ward-Prowse, Diallo, Redmond, Elyounoussi, Tella, Broja

Subs: Caballero, Valery, Bednarek, Djenepo, Romeu, Long, Adams, A Armstrong, S Armstrong

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Gomez, Matip, Konate, Tsimikas, Milner, Elliott, Jones, Minamino, Jota, Firmino

Subs: Kelleher, Robertson, Williams, Thiago, Keita, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Diaz, Origi

      Look at line ups again.
Jwp the only player from Southampton who would stand a chance to play in that Liverpool starting line up.

Firmino is Broja, Minamino over Redmond/Moi. Raph would not play Firmino and Broja, he would play Firmino and he played Mina over both Redmond and Moi kast year.

Why? Put out a team that can win without risking injury to key players. What you have to do.

It will be annoying if Klopp's capitulation hands Manchester City the title tonight.

I get Klopp values European glory and trophies higher but after 36 previous games it's odd to not be fighting in the last 2.

Liverpool have won how many English league titles in the last 25 years?

    I hope they win tonight.

Its about red zones, and if you look closely and compare the two sides, who's best? Liverpools back line are far better than Saints, Jwp is perhaps the standout in midfield but close calls or i would say Liverpool second and third mid is above Saintses and out front three is way superior. Minamino was chosen over those when he was on loan.

Stop trolling. He's put out a team that can physically compete and win ; playing the starting 11 after Saturday was basically impossible.

Started the week 66 points behind the ML leader which has currently been cut down to 34.

    My squad to play: Pickford - Matip - Digne - Zaha - Madders - Vadry - Ings - (R)ich

His squad to play: Schmeichel - Cash - Alonso - Mount - Gordon - Watkins - Rich

This would be the best comeback of my FPL career for the largest prize pool I've played for. His squad looks strong for GW38 - wish me luck gents!

Diaz, in for Salah - what a wasted trade

Do we think Diaz plays some today? 88th minute cameo. Garbage time.

Even if he did, he has no Mane. Plus Elliot and Jones as Mids. This sucks for me. Terrible, awful Red Arrow week.

Completely understand why Klopp did it can’t risk to lose a Mane, TAA, VVD or Robertson to a fatigue injury.

Unlikely for City to mess up twice in a week.

If they loss what do you do with City players - will he play Carson in goal again?
