Good morning everyone. I pay for a scout membership but it hasn't translated into a good rank in recent seasons so I'm looking to learn how to use FPL review over the summer. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? The how to videos on their website are not very good. Thank you.

This pod covers review and AI models. Some of their earlier pods in 2023 provided a few tips on settings.

I've heard some managers have 2 teams, an AI team and their normal team. AI is based on past data and can be slow to react to new trends. So players not playing well this season can still be recommended based on previous data. It does help managers to be less emotional or make knee jerk reactions. Best to use it alongside a spreadsheet similar to Ben Crelins.

Also to get the best out of review, plan your transfers 6 weeks in advance on the spreadsheet.

Review let's you create multiple teams for points prediction however they get wiped out with every new GW.

Neither of these things mean you are good at manipulating and interpreting data. The fact you think they do is not a good sign

Just reading the interview with the Norwegian guy who FPL. He attended their FPL university and clearly uses the models from FPL review. I urgently need to get to grips with review. The scout's RMT algorithm is powered by an excel formula and it's so outdated.

Looks like Kiran McKenna to United is on.

Seems like United wanted to keep Ten Hag for his final year then go for McKenna. However CHE wanted McKenna so United have been forced to go early and get him now.

This video is on McKennas tactics and system at Ipswich. Looks like they scored alot of goals so United assets could be good for next season.

He uses a high press and Rashford doesn't press. Also if they wanted to play a high line, Maguire is too slow.

I remember when Southampton recruited an up and coming manager from the championship.

He practically had a breakdown and turned on his players.

He's been assistant manager at United through 3 managerial reigns and appears to have been popular with players. I'd say he'd be fine tactically, but the problem is where United set their expectations.

Mark has been absolutely adamant this season that team value and early transfers are the key to FPL success.

The guy who won it by 51 points waits for all the information before making his transfers:

It's an interesting read - thanks.

I think we all play the game in different ways - personally I prefer to do my own research, added to my "eye test" from watching as much as possible. Sometimes I do early transfers, sometimes I wait - it all depends on the situation.

I don't think there's a right or wrong way to play - I just enjoy it and tend to do my own thing - hence my awful rank this season!!! If I was to follow a model that told me what to do each week, I honestly don't think I'd play.

This is more or less exactly the same as how I see things FPL wise. As you can see everyone's teams, it would probably be easy to finish high up by just copying what the guys in the top 10 are doing. Even though that would involve lagging a week or two behind, it should get you in 10k or so but I wouldn't get any satisfaction from playing that way.

Does anyone actually give a crap who Wayne Rooney is managing! Every time he joins a new team it makes the headlines. Nobody cares!

No!! He was undoubtedly a great player, but he (in my opinion) will never be a successful manager - he just doesn't have the tactical ability or the presence required

As an Argyle fan I do. God help us with him in charge we are going to need it. Dreadful appointment which has not gone down well with the fans the vast majority of us appear to be dead against it and I've already read of others planning to boycott during his tenure.

You only just avoided relegation this season so the appointment makes no sense to me. As a QPR fan I'm quite chuffed though as we should now be guaranteed at least 6 points next season

Yes, we had the squad to finish mid-table and were playing attractive attacking football (4th highest scorers in the Championship) up to the point that Schmacher done the dirty on us. Then after losing Finn Azaz in January the goals dried up under Ian Foster but I'm not convinced that Schmacher would have done much better without Finn he was exceptional throughout his season and a half loan at the club, and helped bring the best out of follow attacker Ryan Hardie and Morgan Whittiker who were free-scoring with him in the team. So we needed an experienced proven manager at Championship level to rebuild the team and that is definitely not Wayne Rooney.

United deserved that on the day.

ETH? Can see he was unlucky to have Varane and Martinez out so long.

But should have started Amrabat over Cazzie when the latter's legs went months ago, and took too long to keep Anthony away from the pitch.

Been incredibly unlucky with injuries. ETH’s future should depend on who else is available imo. I wouldn’t bother getting rid of it’s just for that guy from Ipswich. If Ancelotti fancied a crack I’d be tempted. Anyway, after a rough few years it’s great to see a glimpse of my soccer club maybe being back

End of an era for City. Great team, but it's probably the end of the road for this group of players. Have to respect Pep for what he's done.

City heading into the doldrums. Klopp leaving Liverpool. Arteta bottle job. Opens the door for United to win the league next season.
