FANTASY EFL GAMEWEEK 1: CAPTAINCY POLL

PlayerVotes in the poll
Aaron Collins (F), Oliver Casey (D)24%
Luke Molyneux (M), Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (F)14%
Michael Cheek (F), Richard Kone (F), Paul Mullin (F), George Saville (M)4%

GAMEWEEK 1 CAPTAINCY POLL: LEADING ASSETS

Interestingly, we don’t have a standout amongst the voters.

Former Bolton Wanderers striker Aaron Collins (F) is the joint-highest voted captaincy option for Gameweek 1 with 24% of the vote.

He was the leading goalscorer for the Trotters with 12 goals (+60) last season and also impressed with a further five assists (+15). Now playing for MK Dons in League Two, these numbers are expected to skyrocket.

The 28-year-old also registered 38 shots on target, and is therefore expected to hugely benefit from the new rule adjustment.

He faces newly promoted Oldham Athletic (H) in the season opener, a side who finished just fifth in the National League last season and conceded 48 goals in 46 matches.

He is currently backed by 30.8% of managers, making him the most popular forward pick of the Gameweek.

Equally, Blackpool’s Oliver Casey (D) is a top Fantasy Football pick, with 24% of voters selecting him.

The 24-year-old defender was the highest-scoring available player last season, with 306 points from 43 appearances, including 12 clean sheets and significant defensive contributions like 75 tackles.

Now the highest-owned defender at 45.5%, faces a favorable Gameweek 1 fixture against a Stevenage side that scored only 42 goals last season.

With Blackpool’s strong defensive record against Stevenage, a clean sheet and more contributions are highly likely.

GAMEWEEK 1 CAPTAINCY POLL: THE 14% CLUB

Doncaster Rovers midfielder Luke Molyneux (M) is set to be a Fantasy EFL star again. 14% of managers have already made him their captain.

30 goal contributions helped Donny to the League Two title. The number seven bagged 286 points on the wing.

His creative skills were also clear: 94 key passes and 39 SoT. This highlights his ability to gain from the shots on target point boost. The most owned player on the game, a home game against Exeter City further enhances his potential for a strong start.

Fantasy EFL: Double Gameweek 36 Scout Picks 1

Elsewhere, a surprising name, MK Dons forward Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (F) offers an exciting differential captaincy option for Gameweek 1 to teammate Collins.

Despite his current low 5.2% ownership, he commands 14% of captaincy backing.

Despite a modest Championship season last year – 107 Fantasy points and eight goal contributions, is tipped to dominate in League Two.

Managers are hoping he repeats his 25 goal involvements from last season’s League Two campaign.

GAMEWEEK 1 CAPTAINCY POLL: THE 4% CLUB

Mulitple names received at least one vote, making the 4% club for the first time this season.

Bromley’s Michael Cheek (F), last season’s League Two top scorer with 25 goals and six assists, is an excellent Fantasy pick against a defensively weak Shrewsbury Town based on last season.

Fantasy EFL Gameweek 15: Top Picks for Saturday 1

Wycombe’s Richard Kone (F), backed by 23.4% ownership, scored 21 goals last season in a breakout campaign. Facing newly promoted Bradford City (A) in League One, Kone is expected to find goal-scoring opportunities if he starts.

Paul Mullin (F) from Wigan caught our attention. After his loan move to the Latics, he’s a popular Fantasy pick. He had an injury-hit season last year, however, he has proven goalscoring class. Playing against an underwhelming Northampton side (H) could make him a strong differential captain.

Luton Town’s new signing, George Saville (M), is a strong fantasy pick with 14.5% ownership following Alfie Doughty’s (M) departure. Last season with Millwall he impressed with 58 interceptions and six assists.

Finally, Salford City’s Ossama Ashley (M) is an exceptional differential pick with 1.4% ownership. The number four averaged 6.6 Fantasy points per game last season thanks to 74 interceptions. His Gameweek 1 clash with Crewe Alexandra (H) promises more interception opportunities.
