A neck injury could keep John Terry from facing up to Papiss Cisse and company at the Bridge. Chico is a doubt for Swansea as they prepare to host the Hammers, who will be boosted by the fleet feet of new signing Matt Jarvis at the Liberty.

Wojciech Szczesny is a minor doubt for Arsenal’s battle at the Britannia. Sir Alex Ferguson primes Robin Van Persie for a start against Fulham, in the hope that he’ll provide the goals to compensate for the injuries at the back – despite press rumours, the United boss confirms that his array of crocked defenders remain sidelined.

          Ashley Cole was really poor at Wigan and Cech v Reading. The whole defensive unit was shaky but so was City against Southampton. That doesn't mean players need to start coming out the lineup though. It's early in the season and players are just getting underway again.

      If Sess is 7.5m, he'd be a very decent option IMO.....he's effectively a striker, so you have to compare him with other strikers at that price.....at 7.5m he'd be the same with Ba & cheaper than Jellavic.......saying that at 8.0m he is still ok

        He is playing it safe thus backing Rooney over RVP. I would bet all the money in my bank account (which is very little) on the fact that RVP will start and play 70+ minutes. But I also willingly concede, that no matter how much discussion or stats you use, either is easily capable of outscoring the other on his day. On an average though, RVP should do better.

    Hey
    I did 3 subs in first gw and one was strange. I subbed in Michu, Kagawa and Hazard for Nasri, Mata and Ramires. I primarily subbed in Michu nd Hazard for pice advantage both will give. (0.4m they both gave me).
    Kagawas transfer in was a tactical one as i wanted a Utd cover and he looked very advanced in Utd's mid.
    The question I want to ask is the strategy of 3 hits for gaining the price advantage is a good strategy and will it yeild result for me in future?

      I think generally not a good idea to go chasing for price rises. IMO the unforeseen injuries that come up and line up changes that result in you having to make further changes to your team are more important to save your transfers for.

        Not as obvious as it first seems. Because you are taking out 2 players, chances are that you would captain neither and would have gone with someone else already in your team had you not transferred them out.

        Then you transfer in new guys, and chances are you will captain one of them. If the guy that you would have captained had you not made the transfers does exceptionally well, it could still backfire even if you were to outscore by 10 points on the transfers.

        Point being, making the transfers most likely changes your captain choice as well - the Hidden "C".

          This is the kind of response I was hoping for. I too think that the formula should be:

          2(Old Captain) + Player Taken Out A + Player Taken Out B < 2(New Captain) + Player Put In A + Player Put In B minus 4.

          Of course, New Captain and Old Captain could also be one of the players taken out or put in too.

            Correct, but the formula is still wrong - Should be:

            Old Captain points + Player taken out A + player taken out B < New Captain + player Put in A + Player Put in B minus 4.

            Reason being that for old captain, you still get the points for him just not doubled.
            for new captain if it was someone already in your team, he would have gotten the points just not doubled so now you take the captains premium. If it is one of new players transferred in, you have already counted him in the formula once and so again just adding the premium. The way you were doing was double counting.

              The formula can vary, depending on if you are captaining a new player, and if an old captain was taken out. For instance, I might have captained Torres, but now RVP will be my captain.

              Also, we can extend this to include potential for future gameweeks too.

              Not quite so simple anyhow.

      Ki and De Guzman are two great box to box midfielders and Michu balances out the attacking side. Laudrup is making a good side. Needs to replace Graham though.

      If he only scores 1 goal ( which was offside) in 180 mins against Wigan and Reading how well do you expect him to do against newcastle. Don't do it.

    Any Tottenham fans got any advice on Lennon,and game time.He isn't mentioned much on this site but under AVB I can see him performing,or will he be a similar story to Walcott..Consistently inconsistent.

      Similar to Walcott, IMO except without the occasional huge returns. Lennon started 15 league games Jan-May. Had the same thought since he's only 7.0 with Siggy/VDV in competition and Bale really expensive without a league goal since January. But better options for the price IMO (Pienaar, Fellani, McLean, Michu, etc etc)
