A less than impressive City scramble past Swansea thanks to a moment of inspiration from Carlos Tevez in the longest game in Premier League history. For many of us watching, it felt like it, too:

Going Up

Carlos Tevez
Having failed to score in the last four Gameweeks, the Argentine has been deserted by plenty Fantasy managers after impressing in the first few matches. Shifted to a deeper role at half-time, with Mario Balotelli coming on to lead the line, Tevez’s fine strike from distance was enough to secure the points for a disjointed home side.

City Defensive Resolve
The 1-0 win earned a second successive home clean sheet for Roberto Mancini’s men. They have now conceded just once in the last three but their injury problems at right-back look like continuing – Micah Richards seems to have sustained a knee injury and could be set to join Pablo Zabaleta and Maicon on the sidelines; Kolo Toure may earn a rare spell in the first XI as a result.

Going Down

Michel Vorm
The Dutchman has been such a key figure for Swansea since joining prior to the start of last season but, having injured his groin while attempting to save Tevez’s strike, he may well be unavailable for Michael Laudrup’s side. Gerhard Tremmel – priced at 4.0 in FPL – looks the man to benefit.

Joleon Lescott
Granted, the centre-half had been dropped for two league games prior to this evening but both had been on the road. Lescott had played every minute at the Etihad, with Mancini seemingly keen on him alongside Vincent Kompany at home but the former Everton man clearly has a real rival in Matija Nastasic. Lescott was handed a seven minute sub appearance deep into the 12 minutes of time added on, handing his Fantasy owners a one point return.

Nathan Dyer
The winger was benched for the second game running, with Pablo Hernandez again preferred on the right. Dyer had previously started six of Swansea’s first seven but the Spaniard seems to now be slotting into Michael Laudrup’s system at his expense – a big worry for Dyer’s 18% FPL owners.

Scott Sinclair
The showdown with his former club looked tailor-made for Sinclair to make his first start since Gameweek 4 but he once again warmed the bench, with Mancini clearly far from convinced by his abilities. This time last term both he and Dyer were nailed-on under Brendan Rodgers for the Swans – now both look peripheral figures under their new managers.

The smartes thing I have done so far this season, is wait until Friday with transfers. So what if a player goes up .2, it's the points that count.

Hey guys, up to the heady heights of 168k, just like to thank everyone at FFS for making this dream come true for me. I think I might even get a nosebleed at this height!

Just like to give a special mention to the guys who recommended Kolarov this week, you guys are the best!

Hoping to keep this up so we can all be proud despite everyone else failing to break the top 200k like me.

Better take a quick screenshot, my luck can't last too long! 😉

Oscar - talk to me! The guy has a good scoring record in Europe, had a good record in the Liga do Brasil and is in just as advanced position as Mata and Hazard but is clearly behind points wise. Is he due or is something just not clicking. He's a fair bit cheaper than the other two - worth spending that bit extra or going with the Brazilian and investing the extra elsewhere?

Torres is Chelsea's first choice striker with not too much competition. With their midfield being as good as it is he's always likely to be in amongst the action or thereabouts, but he's not a hat-trick kind of striker . If you're looking for one of those you'll have to spend 13m on RVP/ Rooney.

Be very interesting to see how Torres plays tomorrow again Man U, Torres is usually very good at Stamford Bridge 🙂

Depends how bad it is, the fact he had an injection might suggest it's more of a sprain or bruise than a broken bone, i'm sure they wouldn't have risked him if it was a big break? Be an interesting one for 'from the physio' to cover though

      No, not nailed on.

Taylor and Colo is probs the long run 1st choice partnership but Willo's done ok recently and didn't play on Thursday so I think he might tomorrow.

I'd probs get rid and defs wouldn't get him in. Go for Santon/Colo.

Random observation: Ruiz seems to steal corner taking duties off riise, which is annoying. Why is Ruiz classified as a striker, if he was a mid he'd be in most teams me thinks.

Oh and berba's goal was almost identical to his other one against WBA

    So finally deciding to wildcard
    TEAM NOW-
    Begovic Jaaskelainen
    Baines, McAuley, Demel, Cuellar, Gunter
    Cazorla, BenArfa, Morrison, Bale, Sterling
    Berbatov, Suarez, Van Persie

THIS IS THE TEAM I WANT TO HAVE AFTER WILDCARDING
    Begovic Tremmel
    Baines, Sagna, Cameron, Cuellar, Fonte
    Mata, Cazorla, Bale, Morrison, Sterling
    Van Persie, Ba, Berbatov

Is it really worth it?? Right now my rank is 55k and my gut is telling that if i do this wildcard i will whooozzee up into the rankings but head as usual says otherwise..
Would really appreciate some feedback. 🙂

Why are news reporters on the BBC such bellends?

I hate it when they announce the latest sports scores and say something along the lines of "if you don't want to find out the score please look away now"...and then they go on to announce it out loud anyway.

Why couldn't they just show the scores on the screen? I mean Match Of The Day is on next!

From listening to some of the injuries sustained today I'd reckon the affected players would be something like this surely? (note: I have no specialties in this area I'm just seeing what everyone thinks)

Gervinho (ankle) - depends on the severity: the fact he was stretchered off means either long term damage or just a precautionary move so we'll have to wait and see. I'd like to think a week or two but who knows at the moment...
Wilson (ankle) - 3/4 months depending on the break?
Vorm (groin) - probably a month or two
Richards (knee) - if its cruciate damage, could be a season long absence or at least a few months minimum.
Kolarov (unknown) - hard to say unless we know what's wrong. Could only be a slight strain or something.
Berbatov (rib) - think Lampard/Terry was playing with a broken rib last season and had been getting injections to continue. Think it kept him out for a few weeks maybe a month, but not too sure.

Lampard/Terry more important to their team than Berbatov is I reckon. Cant see Jol risking him for the 1st few games at least, not with Ruiz doing well today, Petric there also

ok reluctant to take another 4 point hitso 1 FT

i know its risky to go mata and hazard but

caz just isnt cutting it where as everything at chelsea goes through those 2.

My thinking is if 1 has a bad game the other is likely to deliver points.

Where as caz disappears for runs of games and scores low alot.
