The midweek Capital One Cup ties lit up our week like a firework. Although some teams fielded second string potential over their star talent, Fantasy football’s movers and shakers were still smashing the goals in. Luis Suarez, Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard and a certain Theo Walcott were all in bloom. The question now is whether the midweek goal avalanche will spill over into our weekend’s Premier League action, or will they all get a “touch of the Sunderland’s”?

As always, our “Flutter” selections demand goals from some of our Scout Picks starlets, so let’s see how kind Paddy have been with the markets we threw their way…

Gareth Bale is yet to “explode” as a Fantasy asset and yet he has still managed three goals and three assists. Opponents are perhaps all too familiar with his by-line dashes and weaving runs into the centre and often double up in an attempt to neutralise the Welshman’s galloping runs. The new dad looks to have taken his game to another level of late, though, dominating much of the midweek tie at Norwich – Spurs’ eventual defeat will leave a bitter taste and with a tired Wigan outfit turning up at the Lane, Bale looks good for returns. We’re going to bite Paddy’s hand off for 4/1 on a Bale goal and a Spurs cleanie in this one, so £6 of our tenner is spent.

Whilst Reading suffered embarrassment to Arsene Wenger’s resurgent youngsters, QPR put their feet up and counted the goals flying in with a wry smile. The R’s now play host to the battered Royals on Sunday, hoping the visit of Brian McDermott’s beleaguered outfit hands them the perfect chance to notch a first league win. Adel Taarabt is backed in the Picks this week and Paddy have the Moroccan to score with a QPR clean-sheet at 11/2. Although at first glance this seems a little skinny, fatigue may well put pounds in our pockets as we place £2 of our tenner on this.

West Brom’s James Morrison finds himself right up there with some of the Fantasy heavyweights this term as he revels in his new attacking role behind the lone striker. The Baggies have collected four clean-sheets, whilst Morrison has profited from three assists and two goals thus far. Scout Pick Morrison is 7/1 to score and help make a fifth clean-sheet on Monday against Southampton, and with stats on our side we’re willing to risk a couple of quid on the longer odd.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Valencia is very consistent and will chip in with the odd goal. I love consistency with this game. Bale has the potential for big returns and big price rises. Valencia is my favourite player behind Roomey though so I'm a bit biased.

            2 questions...

            1. I'm getting rid of Nolan. Should I get in Pienaar or Ramirez for the forseeable future? Ramirez is .9 cheaper.

            2. Is Cazorla to Bale worth a 4 point hit?

            Thanks boys

My WC Team finalized. All about the glamour and flare here 😉

              Begovic

              Baines, Cuellar, Wisdom

              Morrison, Bale(C), Dempsey*, Hoilett

              Aguero(VC), Ba, Rooney

              Tremmel, Wilkinson, Simpson, Maloney

*Dempsey is a one week punt, I have 0.4 in the bank to move him on for one of Mata or Cazorla. Preferably Mata.

I really like Mata actually and had him up till yesterday, then the injury popped up. I'll get him when fit. Him and his beard can snuggle into my team.

Considered the same, Liverpool quite good defensively at home and Newcastle pretty lacking attacking wise, excluding Ba.

I figured already playing Begovic and not fancying stoke on the road that much (still decent shout for a CS though) id hedge my bets with Wisdom rather then double up.

Ok I have 2 free transfers and this is my first look at this week. Team as it stands:
              Foster (Federici)
              Ivanovic - Kompany - Baines
              Cazorla - HBA - Michu - Pienaar
              Lambert - Berbatov - Tevez

Subs Fonte - Mata - Demel

I have 0.8 to spend. My first opinion is my front line is OK if unspectacular. My Midfielders in particular all have tough away games so maybe this is what I should look to rectify. My defence is all away too but maybe not quite such bad fixtures.

Defence is too expensive for me. I'd want to lose one of those big-hitters and invest more in attack i.e getting rid of Lambert.

You may be right I think now. I think 1 defender and 1 midfielder out with a view to a Lambert upgrade next week.

              any outstanding issues here:

              begovic
              baines/rafael/vertonghen
              bale(c)/santi/pienaar/sterling/walters
              tevez(vc)/berbatov

              foster/ba/cuellar/demel

already took a 4 point hit getting rid of wilson and silva for vert and walters
