Sunderland’s surprise first half strike scuppered our ambitions of snatching some cash from Paddy last week. Marouane Fellaini delivered on his side of the bargain with yet another goal but the Toffees backline couldn’t keep the Black Cats at bay. That means Paddy have now collected back the early season winnings and it’s now a levelled up with all to play for. This week’s “Fantasy Flutter” just got serious…

At times like these, it’s comforting to turn to a player who has delivered for us in the past. Kevin Nolan has twice helped us get one over on Paddy and, with that in mind, our bookmaker friends must present the latest flutter odds with some trepidation. Nolan has a fine home record with four goals at Upton Park this season and with Stoke always likely to struggle to breakdown a resolute Hammers defence, we’re liking Paddy’s odds of 9/2 on a Nolan goal with a West Ham shut-out. That’s our strong suit this week, with a £4 stake laid down.

Dimitar Berbatov is another player we’ve backed in the past and, with the Bulgarian in sublime form and the Fulham defence with three home clean sheets to their name, this looks another tempting combination. Sunderland denied us last weekend so we can only hope that Martin Jol’s men can keep them boxed up and allow Berbatov to weave his brilliance at the sharp end. Paddy are dangling 7/2 for a Berbatov strike and a Fulham clean sheet and we’ll take that for another £3.

That leaves just a few quid to play with and two markets to go. Our penultimate player, Adel Taarabt, actually missed out on Scout Pick selection this week with the committee turning to Djibril Cisse up front as cover for QPR’s attacking potential against the porous Southampton backline. Nonetheless, the Morroccan is a ticking timebomb of a Fantasy asset, with bags of flair and threat which might just prove too much for Nigel Adkins’ hapless rearguard. Paddy are offering 6/1 on a Taarabt goal with an R’s clean sheet and, while we see Southampton posing a few questions, we’ll still spare a cheeky quid on this one.

We spend our final £2 on the usual treble – and this week it’s got a distinct Man City flavour. David Silva is back orchestrating affairs for Roberto Mancini’s men and we like his chances of picking up an assist against Villa this weekend. We’re also backing the City backline to come good and deliver a clean sheet after conceding just two in their last five outings. The form of Liverpool’s Luis Suarez wraps this one up as we take Paddy’s 7/1 odds on a City cleanie, a Silva assist and a Suarez strike against Wigan.

My rival has taken a 4 point hit this week. With doubts surrounding Giroud, should I swap him for Suarez, I fancy Giroud if playing but don't know if I'm comfortable risking him being benched.

    Is Suarez essential?

    Jussi (Begovic)
    Baines Rafa Saylor (Demel Cuellar)
    Bale Mata Silva Fellaini Sterling
    RVP Berb (Pog)
    2.4 bank

    My Plan A is:
Pog to Crouch for a 2wk punt to cover Sterlings away games, then Crouch --> Giroud funded by Baines --> Sagna for wk15
Advantage: Team selection is clean, Arsenals fixtures are great. Team is balanced
Disadvantage: no Suarez who may become a runaway train

    Plan B:
Pog to Suarez funded by Baines --> Gorkks now. Then ditch Rafa and spread the money more evenly in defence by investing in Caulker/Sagna/Ridgwell, all of whom have good fixtures.

The problem can be boiled down to Rafael+Giroud or Caulker+Suarez
    What would you do.

possibly. I jumped on board last week despite worries about the 5th yellow. Decided he would give me much better returns than Tevez has been delivering. I'm still looking to build team value too.

I wouldn't be keen on losing Baines

I thought about this a lot. Baines is fantasy gold, but at the same time, I really need a 3rd striker that can be relied upon unless im going to play sterling every games.

Baines fixtures also take a turn after wk15.

My team value will be 107.8 by tonight. Not worried about it!

Why does Taraabt still get so much attention on here by both Scouts and posters? 4 goals and 4 assists since the start of LAST season does not warrant it. Put it another way, half the number of goals and assists (8 and 8) that Jon Walters has got in the same period.

Gorkss 2nd sub and Cameron 3rd sub - not that you'll need them, but that's as much advice as i can offer. Iooks like a high scoring week for you. Can't tempt you to join my Berba for C wagon?

i am slightly tempted given rvp's fitness doubts, but my rival (who is in the top 100 damn him) has no rvp and its my differential...plus rvp captain is never a bad thing

easy choice if your rival doesn't have him. Most in my league do and will give him the band. I'm hoping to gain ground, but it could backfire badly

I think BAE could see Caulker on the bench, or even worse rotation across the back 4. I think he's a great CB, but AVB could easily drop him and move Vert back to the centre

    On my WC.Team is

    Ruddy/Fed
    Baines/Cuellar/Cameron/Gorkss/Stam
    Silva/Mata/Fellaini/Bale/Michu
    Hernandez/Berb/Suarez

Not sure if I should stick with Bale or switch to one of Walcott/Caz.

Also I need a strong fifth MF given the suspension cloud over Afro/Suarez and uncertain starts for Hernandez.Should I stick with Michu or go for one of Morrison/Nolan?

I know my goalies are cheap and useless but that's how I want it.

not bad. you dont need such a strong 5th mid. Sterling will do and then use the money to get better keepers or defenders.

fyi WBA and NEW rotate well with Cuellar

not michu. get sterling, morrison or ramirez

hernadez is an awful wc pick! odds are he'll start the next 3 games (if you're really lucky), more likely he'll start this week and maybe next week then its probably back to the bench for him

Agree Hernandez is a punt that may fizzle out in 2 weeks. But in my experience,WC is not end of the world. Typically in 2-3 weeks after WC, I end up taking hits. So I am going with Little Pea for this one.

Have a FT. Would you use it to shift Bale to Silva or Mata, bearing in mind three GW's in eight is looming? Or better to keep the FT, for the busy period, when no doubt plenty of fire fighting's gonna be required?

    Berbilly? Anyone?

    Rest of front eight is:

Bale - Fellaini - Michu - Nolan (Sterling)
    RVP (c) - Tevez (vc) - Berbatov

% chance Tevez will start? and Demel?

    Thanks in advance.....
