Just as Paddy drew level, our treble came in. A goal for Luis Suarez, coupled with an assist for David Silva and a City clean sheet in the win over Villa handed us another timely windfall and put us back in the black. Our bookmaker friends in retreat, we missed out on the Flutter last weekend but it returns for the midweek menu, with Paddy looking to prise back our winnings…

First up for Wednesday’s matches, we look to a name that’s been circulating the community for the last 48-hours: Southampton’s Gaston Ramirez. He’s on many a wishlist following a goal and assist return against Newcastle, and we’re willing to back his form with a few quid. Paddy are dangling 15/2 on another Ramirez goal against Norwich, packaged with a second consecutive Southampton cleanie. Ramirez is in fashion and even the Saints back four are playing with some confidence. We’ll take Paddy’s offer for £2 of our tenner.

Sunderland’s Stephane Sessegnon is another name garnering attention following the weekend events. A potential template breaker in midfield, Sessegnon is showing glimpses of last season’s form just in time for the Black Cats’ double fixture in Gameweek 16. After a goal and assist return in the damaging defeat to West Brom, can Sessegnon find the net when Harry’s boys visit the North-East? Paddy are offering 6/1 on a Sessegnon goal with a Sunderland shut-out against QPR. Again, we’ll chuck a couple of quid at this, with Sessegnon there or thereabouts for the Picks for the Gameweek.

Villa’s Christian Benteke is another player we’ve got a lot of time for: he’s proved integral to Villa’s threat in recent weeks and is certain to trouble Reading’s faltering back line tomorrow evening. Paul Lambert’s side are far from prolific, but we fancy them to break the shackles against the Royals and, with Paddy offering 4/1 on a Benteke goal with a Villa clean sheet, we’ll take that for £3 of our hard earned.

That leaves a handsome £3 left for the treble – having won out on this the last time around, we’re going into this one with confidence. Paddy have 10/1 on a Robin Van Persie goal against West Ham, a Juan Mata assist when Chelsea face Fulham and a Stoke clean sheet against the wounded Magpies.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Considering that Hazard and Oscar rotated for the role behind Torres in the hole and the fact that Mata stayed wide left the whole game tracking back opponents, is it a good time to sell Mata for Oscar ? If not now, one to keep an eye on I think.

I wouldn't sell Mata based on one game against City which was also Rafa's first game in charge. He is class and a season keeper.

Are people ACTUALLY going to captain RVP then? I think I'm doing it out of fear more than anything else. Did he go more than 2 games last year without scoring?

Just checked. Only once last year did RVP go more than 2 games without scoring.

I know that's a stupid statistic but this stuff worked for me last year haha.

          Ah that works, good work.

To answer the original question I am sticking with RVP captain myself.

Ironically last season I captained RVP about half of the time and my captain choices actually did better than just captaining him, but all my other calls were bad and I struggled.

This year I have been doing crap with captain choices, but quite well overall. Been sticking it on RVP and failing, but still at least beating the averages on bad weeks.

I've been doing terribly with captain choice, the only time I've benefitted was actually deviating when Suarez got 11 points. That's what's pushing me to captain someone like Mata or Fletcher this week.

    Team for this gw:
    Begovic
    Clyne Baines Cuellar
    Bale Mata A.Johnson Walcott
    RvP(c) Berbatov Jelavic

    Subs: Jaas, B.Johnson, A.Hughes, Saylor

Thinking of keeping my transfer or might just do Saylor to RDG defender. Who would you choose out of (A) Morrison (4.0) started last 4 games and has 1 assist and 1 goal
    (B) Shorey (4.1) On corner kicks and any other set pieces? Capable of getting a good few assists but not sure if he will score any goals?

If I HAD to have a Reading defender I guess at the moment it would be Morrison. Been rumours linking him away from the club so that should keep him performing.

Got to ask though, why a Reading defender? Norwich have the same weeks at home so I'd be picking Garrido all day lonnngg.

As you already have Fletcher and Cuellar I think it's safe to say 3 Sunderland is a bit mental, unless, you have a decent plan as to when to get rid and bench etc! In which case I'd say C.

Otherwise B is an excellent choice.
