Our second preview movie of the Rate My Team tool, arriving soon in the members area, gets to the juicy bit. In this movie you’ll see how Rate My Team can help you analyse your existing Fantasy Premier League squad, provide you with roadmap for your team selections and captain choices, and allow you to model a new squad for your January Wildcard.

Chris Atkinson, the creator of the Rate My Team model, again joins me for this movie, be sure to check out our first effort here for some further background on Rate My Team.

What is Rate My Team?
Rate My team is a statistical model built specifically to assess every player in the Premier League and return their expected values for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points in a given Gameweek. The system is a complex and thorough one which, of course, plots the probabilities of a player’s time on the pitch, their expected number of goals, assists, bonus points, yellow and red cards, clean sheets, own goals, goals conceded and saves. The strength of the opponent they are facing in a given Gameweek is also crucial; so every team has a attacking, defensive rating, every player a probability of playing a given match with injuries, suspensions and international absence factored in.

You can find out more about Rate My Team here, or, of course, in the movie below.

How Can It Help Me?
If you’re a member you can use the Rate My Team tool in a number of ways. Firstly, you can use it as a projections tool to predict what specific players will score, on average, over the next X number of Gameweeks. As you would have seen in our first movie, you have a players table that can filtered by position or FPL cost and which can be extended to show any number of Gameweeks. You can also sort on “Value” to find those players projected to offer the best points per million return.

However, this is just one part of the functionality. Rate My Team can also analyse your existing FPL lineup, recommend captains, vice captains your bench and bench order and allow you to model your future transfers. You’ll see this at play in the movie below, as I tinker with my replacement for Marouane Fellaini and scrap my squad to start building my January Wildcard selection.

When will Rate My Team be available?
We’re looking to roll out the Rate My Team tool for our members on January 1.

I see the Baines captain didn't go to plan last week 🙁 Back with old reliable though this week i see 🙂

Your team looks set up right. It's an unusual one as you can't really not play Baines or Enrique so it's really just one from Gunter, Demel and Davies every week. Gunter makes sense being at home i suppose.

Demel vs Sterling is another one to consider as well although i'd go with Sterling

More competition for his place with Jenkinson.

    Enrique Rafael demel (cueller Davis)
    Bale Walcott tarabt sterling (michu)
    Rvp berbs Suarez

    Have 1.5m

After 4 weeks of owning Michu, I transfered him out, and never ever want to transfer him in, unless needed.

I am very very relieved. He has been the most frustrating player of the season for me. My season started well, but I went for Kacaniklic instead of michu in the start, and never "kneejerked" him in. I was thinking that such low cost player couldn't produce so much. And after he scored in the first gw, in my eyes, all the wannabe kneejerk "pro" players transfered him in. AND HE JUST DIDN'T STOP SCORING. So I never wanted him, because he seemed such an easy obvious pick to every fpl manager. Too simple. And thats why I avodied him and my anger grew. Until the Arsenal 0-2 game.

Now, when he is out from my team, I srsly hope, that I will win some points back for not owning him. I guess I'm the only one here. Still fuming... COME ON, HE WAS A RANDOM LUCKY KNEEJERK PICK FOR EVERYONE OF YOU IN THE BEGINING

No he wasn't - I started the season with him because someone on here said he was ace. I'd never heard of him 🙂

I'm afraid the sour whine came from too much of the better stuff.

After the arsenal game I just saw that owning him was inevitable. Until now!

For you it was Michu, for others it was having players like Baines. We catch some boats and miss others and some is just plain luck.

Swansea had some lovely fixtures at the start of the season and everyone had a choice between him or Graham. Most picked Michu and we got lucky that he was so good.

Calm down mate. I had him since GW1 but sold him before Arsenal game. 😆
Anyway I'd say he is class. He was the highest goal scorer among mid fielders in la liga last year. 🙂

Olsson -> Gibbs worth a hit? Planned to do the transfer free for gw22 or 23 but I've got only two playing defenders if Nelsen and Olsson are out plus the latter is playing utd.

    Enrique, O'Brien, Nelsen (Olsson, Cameron)

Taarabt. He has the highest upside potential.

Although that being said. I think Sterling will outscore him by 1 point (clean sheet).
