The ScoutCast – Episode Ninety Four – Resumption

Back for 2013, fully refreshed, slightly rusty and balancing the same chips on our shoulders, Granville are I make a return to the podcast studio.

The New Year presents my beleaguered co-host with a 51-point gap to bridge as I spent Christmas “ho-ho-ing” about three midfield hat-tricks, leaving Granville to roll out one mighty miffed in this week’s episode.

Elsewhere, we pick at the double Gameweek buffet, eagerly scoffing on the Chelsea canapés whilst wondering if Rafa has hidden something nasty in the vol-a-vents. We rinse that down with the latest transfers in and out in “all aboard”, preview all the weekend fixtures and carry out the latest emergency surgery on the ailing ScoutCast team.

Think I've settled on this WC team with 2.2m in the bank to do Ba > Suarez, or Lambert > Podolski.

Could play Bego every game and do Szczesny > Federici and Harte > Gibbs, but it would cost me 0.9m. Arsenal and Stoke's fixtures rotate amazingly well.

    Considered it, and still have a good squad even at the 14m asking price, but I like to play the odds and vary my captain week to week and with Van Persie, you should give him the armband every week. So on balance, I'm going to go without!

    On paper, the next 2 games (LIV, tot) should be ok RVP-less, but like we all know, he scores when he wants.... Am hoping Rooney is available for GW24 to have an altenative at a reasonable price.

  Just what you feel. Most people will say Walcott, as City rarely loses goals from players like this. I'd also think of Puncheon. Puncheon just isn't a great player... Fellaini looked rusty in the last match, but maybe he'll come back up.

    I get ya, I wouldn't feel right about putting a midfielder who's playing as a centre forward on the bench, but it's city, i'd say it'd be a low scoring draw in the end.

    Yeah I agree with your Fellani point AND Swansea are starting to seem like a team that can produce decent defensive returns so..........yeah......conundrum......

  I like this team except for Pog. It is essentially my team except I went Noble instead of Fellaini and Lambert instead of Pog. Hard to call. I hated taking Berb out too but I have a plan (which will of course become impossible when reality crashes in!).

      There is no point having RVP if your not relying on him for captaincy. Poor value, you have to know yourself when choosing. I'm probably getting rid as I find it boring captaining him.

        Like that move... makes the game more fun, despite living in fear of what RVP will do! His consistency has been unbelievable... late goal against Citeh, points from the bench - teams without RVP have simply had no chance.

  Had Bacari most of the season and I'm getting rid on my WC. Watched him live at a couple of games and he doesn't seem the player he was. He isn't bombing forward as much as Gibbs and his body language is off.
  
  Googled him the other day, and there's rumours he may be on his way out of Arsenal in the Summer. Don't know if off field stuff is affecting his performances.

Chaps...I live in Africa...I can't spend too much time on the internet, coz a lion may sneak up on me while my attention's focused on my fantasy team. 😉

A) Mata (c), Fellaini, Azpilicueta next week Walcott (c) in for Mata (lose 0.4 of Mata’s value), then WC (bringing back Mata for 0.4 more)

B) Mata (c), Hazard, Shaw (-4 points), next week Walcott (c) in for Hazard (keep Mata), then WC
