Will he or won’t he? Robin Van Persie may have been declared “available” for United’s home clash with Norwich tomorrow but it’s still far from certain just how many minutes, if any, the Dutchman will be given. With Phil Jones and Paul Scholes the only notable absentees, Sir Alex Ferguson will be expected to shuffle the pack for the visit of the Canaries, with Real Madrid rolling up to Old Trafford on Tuesday evening.

Elsewhere, things are similarly vague at Goodison where David Moyes stated that Marouane Fellaini “has a chance to be fit” for the visit of Reading. Victor Anichebe and Tim Howard are also doubts for the home side, in what looks a potentially profitable afternoon for the Toffees.

Man City could be without skipper Vincent Kompany once again when they pay visit to Villa for Monday night’s encounter. Chelsea have a clean bill of health as Rafa Benitez gets ready to enter the cauldron when Chelsea face off against West Brom, while Jermain Defoe is in the reckoning for a surprise recall after recovering from an ankle injury ahead of schedule – Spurs are without Clint Dempsey for the North London derby, however. As for Arsene Wenger, he takes his troops to the Lane with first choice full-backs Bacary Sagna and Kieran Gibbs both remaining sidelined.

This and the rest of the day’s teamsheet tittle-tattle have been collected for you in our team news section, where you’ll find our current predicted lineups for the weekend matches.

Rate My Team has been updated to reflect the very latest with the Projections due their update in a short while.

Depends whether you are planning to take a hit to field 11 next week. If you think you will need/want to, you may as well do it this week. Prefer Lambo if you don't have him.

For GW29, most people are going to have to sell one of RVP, Bale, Walcott or Mata, and will lose money on any of them when they bring them back.

You could go in with 10, but with those 4 on the bench it’s not going to be a very good 10 (5 at the back and 2 in midfield).

If you accept that you’ll need to sell one of them, selling RVP this week makes a lot of sense – unlikely to start v Norwich, and you can bring in Suarez who has a good fixture.

    Sense or nonsense?

Hmmmmm team news has Smalling over Rafael, and I can see that happening.

With this in mind and Utds GW29 blank, gonna do this tonight:

Rafael Pog -> Wilson Lambert (-4 hit as need to finance the deal)

    Which gives me this team:

    Bego (Andersen)
    Zabaleta Davies Wilson (Dawson Pearce)
    Michu Mata Bale(c) Felliani Walcott
    Lambert Suarez(vc) (RVP)

    Thoughts people? Ta.

I agree. Just think its risking injury that may get him rested and with RVP Pog and Felliani and Pearce in my squad, it seems the safer option for GW28/29.

With regards to the tow manc. clubs in GW29, is there any reason to think one of them is more likely to reschedule midweek and therefore not have a blank?

    Cheers

The Man U game is down as a Live game for Sky and the Champion's League is Live for them midweek already. That may have a bearing on things.

So City slightly more likely to have a game?

I am trying to convince myself to do RVP to Aguero. Might even work out either way.

It's getting less likely either will play as time goes on. City tweeted they haven't confirmed anything yet https://twitter.com/MCFC/status/307436473962098688 I would not make any moves based on that yet.

Normally a week, but it could be pencilled in behind the scenes just not confirmed 100% Or they mean they have no idea at all and just put a default, 'we'll let you know' response.

In case anyone is wondering about Puncheon I'm pretty sure he will start tomorrow with possibly Rodriguez dropping to the bench. I guess I'm more worried about Sturridge starting.

still can't decide shall i C Nani or not?

he is massive differential and if he does well i can get back in top 100

    though choice

    another option is Michu

+ i dont even consider likes of Bale and Mata

It depends, do you have a heart condition? Cos if so captaining Nani is a bad idea.

If it's between Nani and Michu go Nani, I'll probably stick some money on him to score tomorrow. I am quite jealous, I'd love to own him this week, but i can't justify swapping him in for Theo, Mata or Fellaini as he also has no fixture GW29

Norwich are pretty good defensively, so if you're going to risk it i'd go for Michu. I'm tempted myself.

No. If SAF may rest players for Madrid, I would stay away from armbands for Utd players.

    HE WILL PLAY

i think (or at least i hope) that rvp will ask saf to play him vs norwich as to get some minutes (maybe 600 to build his fitness as he hasnt played much vs qpr last week either so he isnt rusty fot real madrid on tuesday.

    anyone sees this happening?

Can see the sense in fergie preferring a super confident rvp who has just bagged a brace against Norwich to one who hasn't played in a fortnight having sustained an injury in his last game...
