Paddy has been getting cocky of late. Several near misses have cost us, not least last week when we were just a David Silva assist away from a treble win. While Stephane Sessegnon delivered the goal we needed, Fulham conspired to notch twice at the Stadium of Light to ruin those plans. With ground to make up, then, it’s encouraging to see Paddy have prepared some rather tempting markets this week, with Gameweek 29 bringing in some unfamiliar names and lengthening the odds to offer some of the best we’ve seen for many weeks.

We like Paddy’s take on Robert Snodgrass for starters. Nestled in the Scout Picks midfield, the former Leeds man has been a great success story for Chris Hughton’s men this term and with four goals to his name, we know he’s got it in him to trouble Southampton at Carrow Road on Saturday. Paddy aren’t so sure, it seems, dangling 14/1 on a Snodgrass goal with a Norwich clean sheet against the Saints. Given that the Canaries have conceded just twice in their last four home matches, we like these odds for openers and won’t hesitate throwing £2 of our stake their way.

Moussa Sissoko is another name to find his place in the Scout Picks this week. With a role behind the lone striker and the struggling Stoke defence in town, we fancy further returns for the bustling Frenchman. Again, Paddy seem to be looking to tempt us here. They’re offering a generous looking 9/1 on a Sissoko goal with a Newcastle shutout, which, given that Stoke have scored just once in their last six away trips, looks well worthy of our bet of the week and no less than £4 of our stake.

Romelu Lukaku is another player hotly tipped for the weekend. Having missed the trip to parent club Chelsea last time out, he’ll be straining at the leash to rediscover the form that brought him three goals in his previous two matches against Liverpool and Sunderland. Swansea will be a test at the Hawthorns and, subsequently, Paddy are offering 9/1 on a Lukaku goal with a West Brom clean sheet against Michael Laudrup’s men. That seems generous again, and worth another £3 of our stake.

That leaves a single pound coin for our weekly treble, which this weeks backs goals for the in-form Luis Suarez and Villa’s Belgian target man, Christian Benteke, with a nod to Newcastle’s chances of a shut-out against Stoke. Paddy are offering up 16/1 on a Suarez goal against Spurs, a Benteke strike at Reading and a Newcastle clean sheet at home to the shot-shy Potters.

I don't understand why people are so apprehensive to take hits this week. If ever there was a week to do it it's now. Plenty I players not playing, some good longer term option players available and all for essentially a two point hit. The possible risk is way outwayed and negated by the possible gains. For example I'm bringing Sissoko in for Fellaini for -4, if he just turns up and plays 90 that's -2. But if he turns up and explodes that could be anything up to, say, +14. Why not do a long term move like this when the points scale is from -2 to +14 in a week when low scores are likely to be in abundance?

Outside of QPR, Liverpool, Norwich, Sissoke & Bale I can't see many long term options. Also many may well have to go out to be replaced with dble game week players. Careful thought is required this week.

Hi. I im a big advocate of taking hits and you are right about this week being the week to do it if you normally dont.

The slippery slope of it is sometimes you might be "blinded" by the logic of it all and fail to see the bigger picture. While your hit this week will effectively cost you -2 pts, its worth considering WHO you are trading out, and how regularly you will play the newly traded player in the future.

Because of this, for this week i think something like Demel > Enrique is a good hit to take, but NOT Mata > Snodgrass

I don't fancy lambert this week for the armband. Norwich haven't conceded more than a goal. It was just City and Liverpool who could break the defense more than once.

Hey Nomar.. just saw your reply on the previous page. Surely Taarabt will start right? being a home game and granero being pretty poor and all.. also, they played pretty badly the last game. it was just that soton had their worst game of the season coupled with the fact that qpr had 2 chances and scored both. I just cannot see Taarabt not startin this week.. next week he's out for me though

      game week 33!

Fellaini out yes, arsenal players no!

Snodgrass probably your best long term pick. Obviously N'Zogbia has the best fixture, seeing as he is playing against, lets be honest, a very average championship side. But how many minutes will he get?

Cheers. Reaffirming what I thought. Just seeing it as a choice between sess & snod. I've had more exciting decisions in my life though!

Coutinho is more explosive and his price is more enticing. Obviously unlike the former, Gerrard is nailed on.

      Team ATM is:

      Federici, (Bunn),
      Harte, Davies, Wilson,
      Bale, Michu, Sissoko,
      Suarez, Fletcher.

      Players out: RVP, Walcott, Zabaleta,
      Guthrie, Demel.

Already taken a 4 pt. hit but still have only 9 players. Should I take another hit to field 10? And if yes then who should I take out?

I'd be very surprised if Suarez scores 12 against a very good Spurs team.
