Paddy has been getting cocky of late. Several near misses have cost us, not least last week when we were just a David Silva assist away from a treble win. While Stephane Sessegnon delivered the goal we needed, Fulham conspired to notch twice at the Stadium of Light to ruin those plans. With ground to make up, then, it’s encouraging to see Paddy have prepared some rather tempting markets this week, with Gameweek 29 bringing in some unfamiliar names and lengthening the odds to offer some of the best we’ve seen for many weeks.
We like Paddy’s take on Robert Snodgrass for starters. Nestled in the Scout Picks midfield, the former Leeds man has been a great success story for Chris Hughton’s men this term and with four goals to his name, we know he’s got it in him to trouble Southampton at Carrow Road on Saturday. Paddy aren’t so sure, it seems, dangling 14/1 on a Snodgrass goal with a Norwich clean sheet against the Saints. Given that the Canaries have conceded just twice in their last four home matches, we like these odds for openers and won’t hesitate throwing £2 of our stake their way.
Moussa Sissoko is another name to find his place in the Scout Picks this week. With a role behind the lone striker and the struggling Stoke defence in town, we fancy further returns for the bustling Frenchman. Again, Paddy seem to be looking to tempt us here. They’re offering a generous looking 9/1 on a Sissoko goal with a Newcastle shutout, which, given that Stoke have scored just once in their last six away trips, looks well worthy of our bet of the week and no less than £4 of our stake.
Romelu Lukaku is another player hotly tipped for the weekend. Having missed the trip to parent club Chelsea last time out, he’ll be straining at the leash to rediscover the form that brought him three goals in his previous two matches against Liverpool and Sunderland. Swansea will be a test at the Hawthorns and, subsequently, Paddy are offering 9/1 on a Lukaku goal with a West Brom clean sheet against Michael Laudrup’s men. That seems generous again, and worth another £3 of our stake.
That leaves a single pound coin for our weekly treble, which this weeks backs goals for the in-form Luis Suarez and Villa’s Belgian target man, Christian Benteke, with a nod to Newcastle’s chances of a shut-out against Stoke. Paddy are offering up 16/1 on a Suarez goal against Spurs, a Benteke strike at Reading and a Newcastle clean sheet at home to the shot-shy Potters.
