The eighth gameweek of the season is brought to a close tonight at Ewood Park, as Blackburn Rovers host Sunderland.

The visitors are bolstered by the availability of their star striker Darren Bent, and out-of-position fantasy favourite Ahmed Elmohamady also starts to the relief of many. Elsewhere, there is only one change from the side that held Manchester United before the international break, as Danny Welbeck comes in for Boudewijn Zenden after not being eligible against his parent club.

The home side make two changes from their previous league outing at the Britannia Stadium, with Martin Olsson and Nikola Kalinic replacing Ryan Nelson and Mame Biram Diouf.

This is my best GW so far this season. Won all my head 2 Heads and ahead of Mark in the picks as unfortunately he picked -2 Samba. I wonder how many games he will miss?

  I don't get on with Samba...I had him last season for a about a month and he got sent off twice in that time. Now it's happened this season. I was top of my mini league before tonight. I joked to my rival that the only way I wouldn't stay top is if Samba scored a red. Low and bloody behold.

Have to have fun with it otherwise It will break me inside. The only good thing it that I finally had two gameweeks in a row with a score of above 50 which is always a descent target. Let's see.

Bear with me now chaps because this is a distinctly unpleasant unsavoury and horrid suggestion. Instead of Ferguson for my 5th mid for GW9 I might bring in De Jong, yes yes I hate him, but if City are to beat Arsenal it means they must stifle Arsenals midfield, which means there is a decent chance De Jong could get bonus points. It's only a one week move, then again Ferguson against Blackpool might score well and I'll still be able to look at myself in the mirror
