Cesc Fabregas has this evening suffered an injury that saw him replaced after just 14 minutes of the Premier League clash with Stoke.

Details on the injury are sketchy right now but fears are mounting that the Gunners skipper may well have sustained further hamstring problems. The severity is not yet clear and, given Arsenal’s forthcoming fixtures – the Carling Cup Final and the Champions League second leg with Barcelona – we can only hope that his withdrawal was partly precaution. That could well be wishful thinking.

In Fantasy terms the injury is ironic to say the least. Robin Van Persie was ruled out of tonight’s game with his own hamstring injury, a cruel blow for those who captained the Dutchman for Arsenal’s double fixture in gameweek 27. Those who skippered Fabregas going into the gameweek have now suffered a similar fate with the Spaniard returning just 8 points in total.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Waiting for the FA to declare Aaron Lennon was ineligible this entire GW and therefore is wiped clean from the record books so Nani's 10 points can come on and give me 101.

Losing cup tie 103 to 104 because he has Nani coming in for VDV (unless Huth gets more BPs than Djourou which is more than unlikely)...

Arsenal's injuries were a final kick in the teeth to all those fantasy managers who prepared well for the latest DGW.

Thin returns and headaches galore suggest this season has often offered scant reward for the active manager over the 'sleeper'.

108 points with bonuses possibly to come. I am pleased with this. Despite a challenging GW28 with a team packed with Ars/Bir/Spurs and Adam, I have decided to sell Sagna/Lennon and buy Coleman/A Young leaving me to sell A Young GW29 and buy Cahill or Arteta...sorted...time for tea..

Think of playing 9 or 10 men unless you load for the ManU DGW. You lose 2 per man and definitely lose 4 per man taking the hit! Also, you may end up with a team out of balance for the next 5-6 weeks, which you will take more 4 point hits correcting....it a well trodden road...IMO

Are you still tempted by Rooney? The pens are the only thing I can see in his favour, Wigan and its pitch prob wont be easy and then Chelsea away.

I cant see many goals. VDS is appealing to me.

Yes, because I think he'll play up front with Berba against Wigan, and then on his own against Chelsea.

Utd have battered Wigan in every game recently, playing 4-4-2, so I'd be surprised if Rooney is forced out to the left wing again.

Ya I think they will play 4 4 2 but I dont see them battering them. Its a couple of days after an away champions league game and a terrible pitch.

United havent won any of their league games by more than 1 goal all season after CL game. Bar Blackburn which was at home after Rangers which was a dead rubber of a CL pretty much.

I can easily see a tight 1-0. Hernandez or someone from a set piece. Im actually worried to get VDS cause he could rest him for Chelsea and play Kus. Smalling(if rio is out), Vidic Evra Giggs are the only ones im 100% certain he will start. He could easily throw in Hernandez uptop for one of Rooney or Berbatov with Chelsea in mind. Wouldnt surprise me at all given the schedule of games coming up

Argh not having much luck this season! Vdv, Fabs and Van Persie injrued and Adam picking up that needless yellow! probably taking an 8 point hit for next gw. Fabs/Adam/Djourou/Odem out for Cahill/Barton/Walker/Tevez! Im afraid to not have Tev!

The Man U game was aBoring 0-0 but a good result! Smalling was excellent again! Winning everything in the air and a few good tackles too! Much better player than Evans but then again that's not very hard! Carrick gave the ball away so many times.. such a frustrating player! I certainly wouldn't be too displeased if he left!
