By virtue of their 1-0 victory over Brian McDermott’s Reading this evening, Man City have provided the first real body blow to the fixture list following on from this weekend’s FA Cup action.

Roberto Mancini’s side now have a date with bitter rivals Manchester United at Wembley on the weekend of gameweek 33 (April 16/17) which means that their current fixture at home to Tottenham on said weekend is set to fall by the wayside for at least a week…

Fellow qualifiers Bolton, Manchester United and Stoke will also suffer the same fate and see their weekend fixture (vs Fulham, Newcastle and Wolves respectively) knocked off the calendar. In their situation there is a very strong case -but we cannot take it as read until official confirmation comes in- for their postponed matches to take place in the same gameweek and alongside the already scheduled midweek games of Chelsea vs Birmingham and Arsenal vs Tottenham, as has happened in previous seasons.

It is that aforementioned North London derby that also means Manchester City clearly cannot rearrange their game with Spurs for the same time. This means that Mancini’s men will now have a blank fixture in gameweek 33 and Redknapp’s double-header has now been pegged back to just a single game at home to Arsenal.

Rough planners can pencil in gameweek 36 (the only free midweek left this season without any European commitments) as a likely time for the fixture to now take place but, again, must be aware this is our educated guess and when we get official word on a date we will share it post haste.

Season Tickers will be updated shortly to represent this change to the schedule.

if it's starting in 10 mins then why can't you still change your team.

The deadline is before the first ball is bowled i think.

I've got quite a lot of dead wood due to injuries, thinking of taking an eight point hit so I can do the following before price rises.

    Djourou > Luiz
    Nani > Lampard
    Silva > Adam

Is Luiz worth it? Chelsea haven't been great defensively.
Would anyone recommend anyone instead of Adam? Hitzlsperger?

Poor fixtures and a probable blank in GW33, and Chelsea's fixtures are great.

Although I just read Nani could even play on Tuesday! I would like to keep him but Fat Frank is calling.

yeah, you gotta question how a footballer deep gash can keep him out for 3 weeks.
for a start a 'deep gash' in footballer terms means a slight scratch which drew blood!

The phrase "deep gash" made me laugh far more than it should! Yeah I've suffered in the past by not having lamps, and the double in GW33 is worth getting him alone.

            I'm now tempted by:

            Rafael > Walker
            Silva > Lampard.

Villa have great fixtures but a terrible defence, here's hoping he attacks a lot.

opinions needed. if i do gutierrez to albrighton ill have

    begovic
    shawcross/huth/coleman
    lampard/nani/albrighton/adam
    bent/rooney/torres

    foster/johnson/carr/barton

given theres another 2 weeks until the next gameweek after this one would you

    a) do the transfer of gutierrez to albrighton this week

    or

    b) save the transfer and play one of my brum defenders who are away to wigan so i have 2 freebies next week?

B is the sensible option but I would probably do a, you don't get much beter fixtures than at home to Wolves.

cheers lads. really unsure on this one, can see albrighton potentially getting 6-10 pts on sat but he could quite easily do nothing

having 2 freebies at this stage of teh season would be good

one to think over i guess
