The only thing more shocking than Miley Cyrus’ VMA performance this week was that Fraizer Campbell scored a brace against City and notched up a huge points haul. That result raised more eyebrows than Miley ever could. Luckily for managers with City men littered throughout their squads, it really should be business as usual this week.

According to Paddy Power’s odds, five of the six most likely players to score over the Gameweek wear City’s sky blue. Great news if you can get a couple of them in your squad, but bleak reading if you’re without City cover, or, indeed a Hull City Tigers fan.

Sergio Aguero is the hot favourite at 1/2 with Paddy to find the net at anytime. He’s likely to be partnered by Edin Dzeko, who is 5/6 to notch: the duo have already opened their Premier League accounts and appear to be Manuel Pellegrini’s favored strike partnership, with Alvaro Negredo is kept on the leash, at least for now.

Robin van Persie disappointed many after drawing a blank against Chelsea but that will quickly be forgiven if he scores against Liverpool on Sunday: an anytime goal is evens with Paddy. It’s also worth noting that Paddy are refunding losing bets (First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles) if the Anfield clash ends all-square.

Either side of Van Persie in the betting we find further City players. David Silva has a goal and an assist to his name already this season and is 6/5 to find the net at anytime against Hull – the top ranked midfielder on show in the Gameweek. The aforementioned Negredo has played just 31 minutes of Premier League football but opened his account at Cardiff and is odds-on at 5/6 with Paddy Power to register again on Saturday.

Olivier Giroud has notched two goals in consecutive league outings this season and makes the list of top 10 most likely players to score. All 13 of his Premier League goals have come in London and, if you follow that bizarre trend, Giroud at 6/4 with Paddy to score at anytime against Spurs looks decent. If that derby ends in a draw, Paddy Power will also refund your losing bets (First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles).

Behind Silva, Swansea’s Michu is the most fancied anytime scorer from midfield with Paddy offering 17/10 on a strike at the Hawthorns. Arsenal’s Theo Walcott is at 21/10 to register against Spurs, with West Ham’s Kevin Nolan just behind the Gunners man and Yaya Toure at 9/4 to get on the scoresheet against the Potters.

Hull are yet to score from open play this season and Manchester City had the best defensive record at home in the top flight last term. That, in a nutshell, is all you need to know when it comes to picking out a likely clean sheet this weekend. If you’re nursing any City defenders in your squad after Sunday’s setback, at least you’ll be confident in them keeping a shut-out this time around; they’re at 4/6 with Paddy Power.

West Ham are hard to break down at Upton Park, and they square up to a Stoke side that scored just 13 on the road last term. The Hammers are 7/5 to keep Mark Hughes’ men out on Saturday afternoon in what looks set to be a muscular war of attrition.

The biggest revelation on show in these odds is perhaps Newcastle and Crystal Palace being amongst the top five. The pair have just one Premier League point between them but are 9/5 and 2/1 respectively with Paddy Power to record a shut-out in the Gameweek. The Toon Army welcome Fulham to St James’ Park and Palace host a Sunderland side that have won just one of the last eight league games on their travels.

Was considering bringing in Dawson due to TOT current form & upcoming run of favourable fixtures...

Now with the signing of Vlad Chiriches I'm unsure if this a sound 'long term' (8-10week) play?

Thoughts on how the Spurs center defence may turn out with Dawson, Kaboul, Vertonghen & Chiriches all in the mix...

Sir, you are an island of good advice here at FFS & Walker was my first choice.
(Great underlying stats through two weeks)

However, this is a price issue...
I'm shipping out Lescott & using the cash to fund my plans for world domination, umm, I mean winning my mini-league. Yeah, that's it; my mini-league. 😉

So in sum, you feel (like me) that Dawson will not be a sure starter long term for Spurs?

Choosing Silva is deciding to stay in, curling up with a good book & enjoying a nice cup of tea.

Choosing Walcott is heading out on the town HOPING to end up writhing a sweaty heap with some beautiful girl back at yours...

Each have their merits but, you don't tell the first story to your mates at work on Monday.

Gunner's fans, anyone else bothered by Wenger's remarks that if you bring in more than 3 players you can unsettle a team? Wenger's brought in Sanogo and Flamini and might be welcoming back Bendtner. I sure hope he's going to break his own rules.

There's a very strong anti-RvP movement on here. A lot of good players don't have RvP in their team and therefore won't have picked him in the captaincy poll. Silva even higher than him which is just ridiculous.

      8 pts. Easily.

Assume Haz --> Silva for free is a no brainer (even though a bit late?)
Means I'll need to take a 4 point hit to get RVP next week but prob worth the risk right?
    Will be playing Kim otherwise...

Assuming i have 5.5m to spend on a mid...who would you go for?

current mid: kim miralas wally coutinho

A: ramsey...double up on arsenal..but would you play him most weeks over kim?
    B: jarvis...nailed on, decent fixtures
C: brady..dont think hull will score too many

or should i just go for a 6m mid

    D: taarabt...awesome fixtures, nailed on
E: j.morrison..wba look crap but will be involved in most of their goals
F: pablo...class player but assist based primarily

If you wanted a better midfield and needed to make money

    - would you take baines out?
    - who to replace with £5.5m to £6ish who will get equal or better points?
    - would you do it this week for a -4 to make the remaining changes in GW4?

Also if baines goes to Man U does this change things

    Benteke is on my bench

Probably like many others, should I use my FT and bring in a player that can play?

I am not desperate like but seems a bit of a shame to have 9m sitting on the bench.

Know myself its probably not the thing to do but has anyone done this and who did you get?

No way I'd transfer him out when he hosts NEW in GW4. He might score as many in that one match as whoever you replace him with does in two.

    Thoughts on these transfers please:

    Hazard > Silva
    Anelka > Bent

Squad is completely decimated because of injuries/absences (Foster, Toure, Anelka, Baker and Hazard blanks, Morrison not starting) but I refuse to play my wildcard. Is this foolish?
