→ The 2014/15 season was Sergio Aguero's best ever for Fantasy returns. Seven of his goals/assists and 36 of his FPL points came in two meetings with which club that year? Scout Betting

The only thing more shocking than Miley Cyrus’ VMA performance this week was that Fraizer Campbell scored a brace against City and notched up a huge points haul. That result raised more eyebrows than Miley ever could. Luckily for managers with City men littered throughout their squads, it really should be business as usual this week.

According to Paddy Power’s odds, five of the six most likely players to score over the Gameweek wear City’s sky blue. Great news if you can get a couple of them in your squad, but bleak reading if you’re without City cover, or, indeed a Hull City Tigers fan.

Sergio Aguero is the hot favourite at 1/2 with Paddy to find the net at anytime. He’s likely to be partnered by Edin Dzeko, who is 5/6 to notch: the duo have already opened their Premier League accounts and appear to be Manuel Pellegrini’s favored strike partnership, with Alvaro Negredo is kept on the leash, at least for now.

Robin van Persie disappointed many after drawing a blank against Chelsea but that will quickly be forgiven if he scores against Liverpool on Sunday: an anytime goal is evens with Paddy. It’s also worth noting that Paddy are refunding losing bets (First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles) if the Anfield clash ends all-square.

Either side of Van Persie in the betting we find further City players. David Silva has a goal and an assist to his name already this season and is 6/5 to find the net at anytime against Hull – the top ranked midfielder on show in the Gameweek. The aforementioned Negredo has played just 31 minutes of Premier League football but opened his account at Cardiff and is odds-on at 5/6 with Paddy Power to register again on Saturday.

Olivier Giroud has notched two goals in consecutive league outings this season and makes the list of top 10 most likely players to score. All 13 of his Premier League goals have come in London and, if you follow that bizarre trend, Giroud at 6/4 with Paddy to score at anytime against Spurs looks decent. If that derby ends in a draw, Paddy Power will also refund your losing bets (First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles).

Behind Silva, Swansea’s Michu is the most fancied anytime scorer from midfield with Paddy offering 17/10 on a strike at the Hawthorns. Arsenal’s Theo Walcott is at 21/10 to register against Spurs, with West Ham’s Kevin Nolan just behind the Gunners man and Yaya Toure at 9/4 to get on the scoresheet against the Potters.

Hull are yet to score from open play this season and Manchester City had the best defensive record at home in the top flight last term. That, in a nutshell, is all you need to know when it comes to picking out a likely clean sheet this weekend. If you’re nursing any City defenders in your squad after Sunday’s setback, at least you’ll be confident in them keeping a shut-out this time around; they’re at 4/6 with Paddy Power.

West Ham are hard to break down at Upton Park, and they square up to a Stoke side that scored just 13 on the road last term. The Hammers are 7/5 to keep Mark Hughes’ men out on Saturday afternoon in what looks set to be a muscular war of attrition.

The biggest revelation on show in these odds is perhaps Newcastle and Crystal Palace being amongst the top five. The pair have just one Premier League point between them but are 9/5 and 2/1 respectively with Paddy Power to record a shut-out in the Gameweek. The Toon Army welcome Fulham to St James’ Park and Palace host a Sunderland side that have won just one of the last eight league games on their travels.

We're used to it Pratik. Same every window. I expected nothing else.

Would you rather see Wenger splashing Ł100m on players in a single transfer window, like City or Spurs? OK, I know that for Spurs a significant expenditure is required to be competitive and fight for the CL, but I really think Wenger deserves far more praise for being one of the few managers to still have some perspective and common sense when it comes to transfers.

I think there's plenty of room inbetween that policy and the one we've adopted. We've spent so little for so long that I can't see how we're not in a position to match some of the other big boys for at least a window. And our team really does need it. Don't take it as a critisicm of Wenger because for me, he should have a job for life at the club and as manager certainly for the forseeable future. I don't think he gets close to the credit heel deserves for hanging in there with City, Chelsea, Utd and fending off Pool and Spurs while having a lower net spend than many lower league teams. Something just isn't right and I suspect it's at board level. This squqd needs strengthening.

No need to rush him in with the depth we have.

        Eva Carneiro knows best

Mourinho's preferred 11 is becoming apparent week by week. Ramires and Lamps in the double pivot (he has better options than lamps there imo) Oscar in the hole, Ivan at rb

Team looks decent, Jdogg. Only thing I would question are the captaincy picks. I would go (C) Walcott with Giroud/Dzeko (VC). Ultimately upto you of course.

My virgin post so pass no remarks if I make a horlics of it,

        My team is:

        Mignolet (Davis)
        Collins, Zab, Whitt (Ivan, Kos)
        Walcott, Nolan, Fellani, Colback (Haz)
        Dzeko, Soldado (Lukaku)

Have 2 transfers so would like to use at least one, though probably use both. Prefer not to use Koscielny as can't have clean sheet & soldado to score. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thinking along the lines of Barkley/Aguero for Hazard/Lukaku and maybe Benteke for Dzeko next week. Happy to take a 4pt hit if need be next week. Nothing in the bank.
        Thanks in advance
