Theo Walcott is available for Arsenal after recovering from the knock sustained in England’s match with Ukraine. Christian Eriksen could start for Tottenham against Norwich, though Erik Lamela may have to make do with a bench role. Everton will assess a knock to Seamus Coleman ahead of Chelsea’s visit, Gary Hooper is available for Norwich, while Allan McGregor remains a doubt as Hull entertain fellow promoted club Cardiff at the KC:

Arsene Wenger handed many a Fantasy manager good news yesterday after revealing Theo Walcott was “fully fit” for the Gunners’ trip to Sunderland. Tomas Rosicky is out, though, after failing to recover from the thigh injury picked up on international duty with the Czech Republic – Mesut Ozil is poised to make his debut against the Black Cats, though Wenger – somewhat tongue-in-cheek – insisted he hadn’t decided whether to start the German international. Wenger also confirmed earlier this morning that Thomas Vermaelen could make the squad having returned to full training, though new boy Yannick Sanogo is sidelined with a back problem.

Elsewhere in north London, Andre Villas-Boas had plenty to say when it came to his new arrivals. The Spurs boss discussed Christian’s Eriksen’s likely debut against Norwich tomorrow afternoon:

“Will he be in the line-up this weekend? There is a big possibility but it’s not a certainty yet.”

Erik Lamela was also on the agenda too. The former Roma star only returned to England yesterday morning after international duties with Argentina and his manager conceded:

““The fact that he’s yet to train with the team puts him in a very difficult position to start the game, but it’s not impossible.””

Villas-Boas also admitted Vlad Chiriches’ availability still hangs in the balance as the club await a work permit for the Romanian defender. Aaron Lennon and Etienne Capoue remain injured, Emmanuel Adebayor has been given time off for personal reasons and Gylfi Sigurdsson has returned from the Iceland squad with a dead leg.

Roberto Martinez’ installation as Everton boss has proven beneficial to Fantasy managers this season. Gone are the days of unspecified “niggles and knocks” rolled out by David Moyes from one week to the next – this time round, the Toffees boss got straight to the point:

“There are one or two knocks as you would expect, especially Seamus Coleman and James McCarthy, who were away with Ireland. Apart from those two, everyone seems fully fit and ready to perform…Darron (Gibson) and Antolin (Alcaraz) have been working in a way that they are joining the first team; now it is a matter of getting them full match fitness. That could take a couple of weeks depending on how they react. I do feel they probably won’t be fit for the weekend, but they aren’t too far away. It has been a great couple of weeks for Darron, especially in terms of getting close to being available.”

Ian Holloway, on the other hand, could hardly have been more cryptic ahead of Palace’s trip to Old Trafford. The Eagles boss – who lost both Jonny Williams and Jack Hunt to injury earlier in the week and will have to do without the likes of Jerome Thomas and Yannick Bolasie out wide again – would only reveal:

“We’ve had a slight knock somewhere, but I’m not going to say anything to keep them guessing. One of the new players may have to come in. I’ve lost someone who was in the team last week, so I have to put someone else in.”

Gary Hooper is fit and available for selection as Norwich travel to the Lane. The summer signing from Celtic has yet to feature this term due to a shin problem but has trained all week, according to Canaries boss Chris Hughton. Game time off the bench looks the likeliest scenario, though, with the visitors likely to stick to their default lone striker system allowing Ricky Van Wolfswinkel the chance to lead the line again.

Allan McGregor remains a doubt for Hull’s home game with Cardiff. The keeper continues to struggle with the groin problem that forced him out of the recent Scotland internationals, though Abdoulaye Faye has been passed fit and comes into contention for the first time this term. Sone Aluko is expected to be available after a recent hamstring problem, though new forward Gedo is still lacking in match fitness.

Paul Lambert has reported a clean bill of health for Villa’s home game with Newcastle. This brings Nathan Baker and Antonio Luna back into contention after the duo missed the Capital One Cup clash against Rotherham last time out – while the latter looks set to be reinstalled at left-back, Baker faces a fight to oust Jores Okore from the central defensive berth alongside Ron Vlaar.

Still a lot of talk on here about Lamela and Eriksen. Considering that AVB has stated the former probably won't start, are people still willing to punt on the argentinian? Eriksen is more likely to start but is also less 'explosive' , if such a thing can be said of an as-yet untested player in the league.

At 9 and 8 million respectively, those two are rather costly punts - especially at this early stage of the season. A one point cameo and a -4 for a transfer the following week would no doubt add insult to injury.

Surprised theres's no mention of Lukaku for GW5 and beyond. Looks like an excellent under-the-radar option after his price crash: 7.4 million for a high quality forward with little realistic competition for his central role, who would no doubt be the focal point of Everton's attack. Fixtures are mixed bag with West Ham and Man City away, but you'd expect him to get on the scoresheet for the home games against Newcastle and Hull.

I'd guess Kone would be played more as a wide forward with the potential to play centrally - with 1 in 3 last season he's probably a better option than Jelavic,

Jelavic definitely has something to offer, but anything he can do Lukaku appears to do a lot quicker and a lot more often.

Surely Lukaku (average 1 in 2 at west brom last season) will be first choice with Jelavic (average 1 in 5 last season at everton) being reserved for cups?

I guess the obstacle to Lukaku love is RVP/Sturridge/Giroud/Benteke/Soldado

I love Lukaku to bits and I expect him to do very, very well at Everton. But I don't know who would lose a place to him. Perhaps if Soldado blanks again I might finally lose patience with him.

I agree about Lamela and Eriksen, it's best to wait and see. I guess many of the people putting them in are on their WC so are thinking ahead, which makes more sense than a FT or a hit.

As for Lukaku, yes he is potentially a good option, but our front lines are congested already with good options. I think Lukaku will have to start showing returns before he becomes popular.

re Lukaku, love him as the next one, but not sure if he offers that more value than i.e. Dzeko, who I'd never put in my team with those altenatives in the 9.x bracket.

We can only assume that Lukaku will continue to be rotated occasionally just like at WBA, to us on the outside it seems questionable but obviously he can't handle 90mins consecutively at the moment. The thing is we all know it doesn't really matter with Lukaku because he can produce in 20 min cameos, i see him as a good option in an RVP team but not much else until proven otherwise.

If people are happy tying up 8-9 million of their budget for an unproven player in the league who may be eased into the team, then fair enough. Personally, I feel Its expensive, and not worth the risk when you can fall further behind. If an established midfielder from last year finds form again, or ozil has an excellent start (both of which are more likely) it will be tricky to ship them in without squad surgery.

          Dzeko Soldado Giroud

At pains what to do with my FT.

Nothing on that I would regard as pressing imo, though I could use it to downgrade Victor Wanyama (5.0 and bench fodder at the mo.). Got my eye on Ozil as Coutinho continues to play himself out of my team.

Coutinho will be in the hole soon, and I think the goals/assists will come. He's been very close so far just lacking that final ball or striker not finishing. He doesn't lack confidence either so I would stay with him.

Save your FT or get rid of Silva if you think he wont play.

because he has said so himself, and with Moses coming in he can take up Coutinho's spot? Plus Coutinho is better in the middle of the park anyway. He may not care about FPL points (I think he does though) but he will certainly care about the fact Liverpool have only won 1-0 in 3 games, they need to put away / create more chances.

We could debate it til the cows come home!

            Reasons for Silva not playing:

Possibly injured, game is the hardly gentle Stoke(A), other options now present, midweek champions league game, Pellegrini likes to rotate

            Reasons for Silva will playing:

Injury is minor/precautionary, league game is now the slightly less defensive and physical Stoke (A), midweek champions league is Plzen followed by Manchester United so he may play just the league games this week, Pellegrini's Isco may be SIlva at City.

Despite bubbles comments, I still can't decide on who to drop for RVP.

          A) Giroud
          B) Tekkers
          C) Sturridge

I'm thinking Tekkers for the minute and then switch Giroud > Tekkers after his Man City game.

          PS, I already have Walcott.

Guzeman takes them when on the pitch but now that hes being rotated with Shelvey etc its anybodys guess. Michu is surely an option.

There's a script called Scoutify for Greasmonkey (Tampermonkey on Chrome). It adds a button to your FPL pages that brings up a box you can copy and paste your team from.

              Is that what you meant?

              Shouldn't do...

Vermaelen has a fight to get back in the team. I expect Koscielny to keep his spot with Vermaelen given opportunities in europe and carling cup at first.

Just checking I understand the WC price rises correctly. I bought Yaya at 8.7, and he's risen to 8.9. Ultimately I want Lampard in my team, who looks like he should rise today. Does that mean I should do Yaya to Lampard now, having gained 0.1, and get Lampard before he rises?

i'm onto that, but cheers. what i mean is when does that protection come off his price, and does the rapid uptake under protection result in immediate price change?

I understood price changes did not affect new players until after the first GW where they become available, much like pre-season and rises only occurring after GW1. Willing to be corrected on this too.

              B) Lamela + Sturridge

For this weekend. Will RVP play 90 with champs league on tuesday?!

What do people think of David Luiz as a shout? Can take pens and free kicks, might play in midfield sometimes, nailed on Chelsea defender?

The impression I get is that he won't be played in midfield under Mourinho. Still a good pick though with the possibilities of FKs, I think I'd still rather get a cheaper option.

Thanks mate. I fancy a Chelsea defender, and he's just a bit mental so I might go for him. Leaves nothing in the bank as well which I like ;D

not certain he will be on free kicks, so many new players may fancy them.

If it was another team, he would start. But Chelsea have so many options they could easily get by without him. I would say 50-50.
