Headliners Wayne Rooney and Boaz Myhill produced the goods last week, while Yohan Cabaye also chipped in before succumbing to a groin problem at home to Hull. We cast an eye over this week’s PlayON price list and get scouting in search of bargains once again.

If you’re new to PlayON, read this season’s introduction article for more information. If you’re already a seasoned player, read on for our selection of early weekend targets…

Gameweek 6 Picks

Goalkeeper – David Marshall
This week there are four regular keepers all under the 8.0m bracket but the Cardiff stopper looks the most enticing option. Marshall’s heroics against Tottenham last Sunday earned him 1,400 points on PlayON and a trip to Craven Cottage on Saturday to face a Fulham side with one goal in their last three league appearances make the Bluebirds stopper strong value at 7.8m. The other three budget keepers for your perusal are Kieran Westwood (7.0m), Brad Guzan (7.5m) and Boaz Myhill (7.7m) but with games against Liverpool, City and United respectively, their prospects look a little bleaker.

Defender – Vincent Kompany
Having only just returned from injury, the City skipper is available for a bargain 9.2m this week. Kompany rolls up to Villa Park on Saturday and with the midlands outfit devoid of talisman Christian Benteke, the visitors’ chances of a clean sheet seems far more likely – bearing in mind Pablo Zabaleta will set you back 11.4m, Kompany looks a relatively cut-price route into Manuel Pellegrini’s backline. Scouring the budget bracket, there are plenty of options for those willing to take a gamble with one or two of their picks – United’s Rafael is back from injury and is priced at 7.3m ahead of a home clash with West Brom, West Ham summer signing Razvan Rat (8.0m) seems to have finally established himself as first-choice left-back and heads to Hull this weekend, while Fulham’s Fernando Amorebieta (8.1m) made his first start last time out and will be confident of returns at home to a Cardiff side with one goal in the last three Gameweeks.

Midfielder – Mikel Arteta
Similar to Kompany, the Arsenal midfielder’s recent return from injury ensures his price remains in the budget bracket. Arteta is available for a mere 6.2m this weekend and with Arsene Wenger sweating over the fitness of Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini, the Spaniard looks set for his first league start of the season and has penalty duties to also boost his points potential. With doubts hanging over Leon Osman, Darron Gibson is likely to return to the Everton starting line-up and at 5.9m, the Toffees midfielder looks a steal. Hull’s Stephen Quinn comes in at just 6.9m for the home game against West Ham – he has recently returned to the Tigers first-team as a result of Robert Koren’s injury, while the playmaking talents of Robert Snodgrass (7.6m) could be the difference for Norwich as they head to the Britannia.

Forward – Luis Suarez
Set to play his first league game since a 10-match suspension, the Liverpool forward is the cheapest frontline option in this week’s PlayON price list and heads to basement-dwellers Sunderland this weekend. Coming in at just 7.0m (compared to Daniel Sturridge’s 11.7m) Suarez looks set to torment the managerless Black Cats and will be handed plenty of opportunity to hog the headlines as the Merseysiders look to bounce back from last week’s shock home loss to Southampton. Romelu Lukaku remains kind on the budget at 9.3m and looks poised for his first league start after emerging from the bench to grab the winner at West Ham. Further up the price scale, Wayne Rooney is the luxury option at 11.6m – regardless of Robin Van Persie’s availability for Man United’s home game with West Brom, the former Everton man has done enough to justify our faith and has scored in back-to-back league matches.

How To Play

PlayON is weekly Fantasy football so you can dip in and out of playing throughout the season. Once your starting XI is built (you can keep changing your team right up to 2 hours before the first kick-off – 10.45 on Sat morning), you can compete for cash. Entering a multiplayer game for a set stake, you’ll have a chance of winning your share of the pot should you finish high enough in the rankings.

Similarly, you can challenge other players to one-on-one games, selecting the amount at stake. The likes of Robbie Fowler, Les Ferdinand and OptaJoe are all playing the game and are there to be challenged for free or for £1. The Fantasy Football Scout team is also available to be challenged and has a 64% win rate so far!

Facebook and Twitter £50 Competitions

In addition to guaranteeing a £500 pot this week, PlayON is also running a competition on its Facebook and Twitter pages to celebrate the return of Luis Suarez to league action. The two people that come up with the best captions for the Suarez picture on their Facebook and Twitter pages will each earn £50 of Free Credit – more Facebook and Twitter competitions on the way from PlayON over the course of the season too.

The Fantasy Football Scout Game

We’ve also got a £2 multiplayer game, dedicated to our community, which is now open and the prize pot is building.

Challenge Your Mates

You can also set up your own multiplayer games with your mates to play for free bragging rights or for cash. Create your own game at www.playon.co.uk.

Finally, a reminder that we have published a strategy guide, offering some tips for getting the most from your PlayON lineup, right here.

You have to be over 18 to enter cash games at PlayON. If you do wager some cash, please remember to gamble responsibly. PlayON is licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission.

Clyne a rotation risk at all coz of Chambers, if yes, then Fonte. But they're pretty much the same.

      Operation Casuals Revenge: GW6 Preview

      The most owned players.

      Mignolet Boruc
Coleman, Ivanovic, Zabaleta (Richards return), Baines, Whittaker (dropped)
Ben Arfa, Ramsey (knock), Yaya Touré, Barkley, Özil
van Persie (start in doubt), Giroud, Sturridge (Suarez return)

Moyes has said El Capitano Reliant Robin "will be involved somewhere" which keeps the prospect of a 1 point sub appearance alive, keeping the average down... or, going by the pattern this season, a rampage pushing loads of regulars into the 1 million+ ranks.

Sturridge, Yaya, Coleman, Baines, Zabaleta and Migs have good fixtures this week. Think it's really going to hinge on whether the Swans defence continues to be ropey, if they are, we could see a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth as the holy trinity of Ozil/Giroud/Ramsey racks up the points.

Aside from that there's surprisingly little to laugh at in an in-form casual team... apart from Whittaker. Ahahahahaha.

With Chester sidelined for up to eight weeks with a pulled hamstring sustained in the win at Newcastle last weekend, there appear to be three leading contenders to take over the central defensive role.

Bruce will welcome Paul McShane back into his squad after the Irish international recovered from his own hamstring problem, but having only trained for a couple of days Bruce has hinted that it would be too early to throw him straight into the heat of a Premier League battle, meaning Abdoulaye Faye and Alex Bruce are the main candidates.

Nobody fancying Sturridge (if they dont have Suarez) vs Sunderland?

3 goals conceeded each of their last 3 fixtures. Between him and Rooney for me.

      Thoughts?

Hmm RVP will he or won't he, Brady is he or isn't he... and only one fit sub in Collins. Walcott>Oscar tempts me for a 4 pointer, to ensure 11 out at least. Whenever I take a hit though I never net out more points than if I'd sat tight!

Because the odds are usually against you making up the -4. I'd sit tight, play RVP but captain somebody else. Get rid of Wally next GW for free. Between RVP and Brady you are almost guaranteed one of them will play. RVP from the bench could do damage as well.

I'm with you. Kind of wish I didn't get Lukaku on Saturday now, as a 4 pointer for Walcott+fodder>Oscar+Giroud would have made perfect sense now!

Walcott>Oscar next week, Mirallas>Walcott after internationals for 9.0m buy back.. 🙂

With Moyes' predictably vague 'news' everything is up in the air. Wouldn't put it past him to start RVP and bench Rooney. Or any combination of the two, for that matter.

Think thats the worst thing Moyes could have said, from an RVP owners perspective.

If he's definitely out - can trade to Rooney.
If he starts - captain Van Persie

But now what? I dont want to get rid for a hit, because if he starts, getting rid of Van Persie against West Brom for a hit could be the worst move in the history of FPL.

But similarly, I cant stick the captaincy on him with any security for a potentially hugely profitable fixture, as there's a good chance of a 5 minute cameo.

I think the best thing to do for owners is to keep, but look elsewhere for your captaincy option this week. And that is why the man with my armband this week will be Darren Bent.

Agree with this. If I had to bet I'd say he'd play the whole game, but not worth the (c) risk.

        Sturridge for me

I think the least likely scenario is he only comes on for a 5 minute cameo. If he's rested, he'll rest. I'm going to happily captain him I think.

Dilemma after Moyes' statements on van Persie:

van Persie, Walcott and Benteke out for Rooney, Özil and Suarez (-8)

      or

Walcott and Benteke out for Özil and f.ex. Berbatov, Lukaku etc. (-4)

      ?
