We arrive at Gameweek 6 clutching our first Flutter winnings of the season. Last time out we staked £3 on Michu to notch a third strike in a week, coupled with a Swansea clean sheet at Crystal Palace, and, at last, wiped the smile off Paddy Power’s face. Our confidence boosted, we’ve focused on red-hot Rooney and a couple of heavily backed midfield prospects that found themselves just missing out on Scout Pick selection.

First, we stop off at Old Trafford to find Wayne Rooney in bloom and in demand. The United striker has enjoyed a 0.3 price rise in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) this week as a result of four goals in three matches prior to the midweek Capital One Cup tie. As we saw when we looked at Paddy’s odds earlier this week, Rooney and United are strongly tipped to put Steve Clarke’s West Brom to bed in Saturday’s three o’clock encounter and, with Robin van Persie’s degree of involvement still uncertain following typically cryptic messages from David Moyes, Rooney looks the most likely architect of their destruction. Paddy are offering 6/1 on Rooney to score two or more goals with a United clean sheet against the Baggies. We’re happy to back the man in form to the tune of £3 of our stake.

Our next two markets concern players who were on the cusp of the Scout Picks this week, only to be ousted at the last. Like Rooney, Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey has form on his side and has been backed by an overwhelming tide of FPL investment in recent weeks. He travels to Swansea as a slight injury doubt but off the back of seven goals this term, four in his last three outings. If he plays, he’s likely to be in the mix for the Gunners – reason enough to carefully consider Paddy’s odds of 10/1 on a Ramsey goal with an Arsenal clean sheet against the Swans. We’ll lay down £2 of our tenner on this one.

Everton’s Kevin Mirallas is lined up for our final market. Robbed of his Scout Pick selection by Romelu Lukaku’s presence on our bench, Mirallas is nonetheless fancied to notch when Newcastle pay visit to Goodison on Monday night. Indeed, when we checked in with Paddy’s odds this week, we found Mirallas to be the most likely Fantasy midfielder to score anytime in the Gameweek. With odds of 5/1 on a Mirallas goal with an Everton clean sheet against the Magpies, we’re happy to make this our bet of the week and offer up the remaining £5 of our stake.

Young is playing so badly Kagawa may have to play over him.

Jones over Smalling and Rafael though.

I can see Ozil getting a lot of space vs. Swansea. It might not just = assists. He might get his first goal here. Look at the Moses goal in between the lines, direct, early shot, that was criminal tracking back from the midfielders, criminal standing off from the defenders and bad positioning from the goalkeeper. Sturridge's goal also came through the centre of the pitch, behind and between the two centre backs. Being alert to sloppy passing around the back and a mistake from Shelvey.

Doesnt mean to say it will happen again, but Swansea haven't been great at the back on the ball or off it and if Arsenal high press, Ozil and Giroud could really be deadly.

I think its a high scoring game, a 2-2, 3-2, something like that.

I like your thinking. Ozils the best mid in the league by a mile. Maybe the new Bale captain certainty?

    Morning peeps

Do you think it is worth transferring sturridge out for rooney, as i think he is due a rest, as he has been a bit ropey the past two games.

Sunderland may also have their tales up because the players got their way and got Di Canio removed?

I'd probs go Ferdinand either way. Arsenal have a knack for defensive errors, and Kosc makes great tackles- that just look bad (to the ref)
