Gameweek 12 has already produced some memorable fixtures, with six-goal thrillers at Goodison and the Etihad over the previous couple of days. A Midlands derby at the Hawthorns this evening brings the latest round of fixtures to a close, as West Brom and Villa go head-to-head under the Monday night lights:
Steve Clarke’s hosts will be seeking to extend their unbeaten home run to four games, after dropping just two points in the last three in front of their own fans. With a goal and assist in his last two, many will be hoping Stephane Sessegnon can bring their Gameweek to a successful conclusion.
The visitors, though, have been hard to break down on their travels and have registered a clean sheet in each of their last three road trips – at the other end of the pitch, Villa will be desperate to address an impotent attack which has scored in only one of the last five league fixtures.
The team news sees West Brom make one change from the side that drew at the Bridge, with Goran Popov replacing Liam Ridgewell at left-back, after the latter reportdly sustained a calf injury in training.
For Villa, Christian Benteke has shrugged off the knee knock picked up on international duty with Belgium. Brad Guzan is also fit, though Paul Lambert continues with a 4-3-1-2 – Andreas Weimann and Gabby Agbonlahor make the bench along with Fabian Delph.
Meanwhile, our Dugout Discussion chatrooom is now open for those looking to discuss the goings-on as they happen.
