Just four gameweeks to go now and the race is really heating up at the top of the Fantasy Football Scout league. Our top five rundown sees two new entries, with Chris Prentice and Sean og Connolly dropping out this week. With two of our top five inside the overall Fantasy Premier League (FPL) top ten, and the lowest-ranked in 18th place overall, it’s clearly no easy task to maintain this pace. Here’s the update on this week’s action:

Chris McGurn

Morons FC

Fantasy Football Scout Ranking #1 Overall FPL Ranking #2

Last Week’s Score 63pts
Chris opted for two double gameweek players, Asmir Begovic and Jamie O’Hara, giving the Wolves man the captain’s armband, a move which brought just 8 points. His Lampard, Terry, Luiz Chelsea trio combined for a 24 point haul at home to West Ham and ever-reliant Robin Van Persie grabbed 7 points at Bolton. Villa pair Ashley Young and Kyle Walker bagged 7 points between them.

Gameweek 35 Preview
Having made no transfers last week, Chris will have two free trades this week. With Man City players strong on many radars, a home tie with West Ham could be tempting, particularly ahead of next week’s double.

Big names here include Wayne Rooney and Nani squaring up to Van Persie’s Gunners, the above-mentioned Chelsea trio at home to Spurs, Leighton Baines at Wigan and Ashley Young travelling to West Brom.

Kevin Havelock

Beyond Havoc

Fantasy Football Scout Ranking #2 Overall FPL Ranking #4

Last Week’s Score 69pts
Kevin breaks into our top five this week and, similar to Chris, also had a Chelsea trio to thank, as Luiz, Cole and Malouda brought home 26 points. He also tripled up on Spurs players, but Van der Vaart, Bale and Dawson harvested just 7 points in total. Only one double gameweek player -Robert Huth- graced the team, but having been handed the captain’s armband, the Stoke centre half brought home a haul of 20 points. Van Persie and Charlie Adam added to the haul.

Gameweek 35 Preview
Having drafted Huth in for Leighton Baines last week, Kevin has just one free transfer this time round. There are no Man United players in the squad, an interesting tactic ahead of the leaders upcoming (ars, CHE) games.

With Spurs travelling to Chelsea, there are six players in the squad for this one fixture alone, though the likes of Dawson will surely be benched. Van Persie and Nasri face Man United, Andy Carroll (if fit) squares up against old club Newcastle and Aleksander Kolarov has an appealing home game against West Ham.

Kenny Coffey

Castel di Sangro

Fantasy Football Ranking #3, Overall FPL Ranking #15

Last Week’s Score 98pts
Our second new entry, Kenny fielded just the two double gameweek players, but that’s all he needed; captain Clint Dempsey and Robert Huth brought home 46 points between them. Florent Malouda and David Luiz grabbed 17 points at home to West Ham, Edwin Van der Sar and Van Persie picked up 7 points each, and Darren Bent pitched in with 6 with a goal against Stoke.

Gameweek 35 Preview
With no transfers last week, Kevin has two trades to play with; will he field four starters at the Emirates? At present, Van der Sar, Nani and Wayne Rooney travel to Van Persie’s Arsenal, Dempsey travels to Sunderland, Malouda and Luiz square up to Spurs while Bent travels to West Brom.

Patrick Tyrrell

Scalachis Allstars

Fantasy Football Scout Ranking #4, Overall FPL Ranking #16

Last Week’s Score 76Pts
Captain Clint Dempsey saved the week for Patrick, his 36 points returning almost half he team’s total. Frank Lampard bagged 11 points, Luiz and Van Persie both picked up 7, and Charlie Adam and Joey Barton grabbed 5 apiece.

Gameweek 35 Preview
Last week saw one transfer- Nani out for Dempsey, so there’s just the one free trade this week. Lampard and Luiz will take on Spurs at home, Leighton Baines travels to Wigan, while Peter Odemwingie and Yaya Toure have favourable home ties with Aston Villa and West Ham respectively.

Utkarsh Dalmia

Team Zophar

Fantasy Football Ranking #5, Overall FPL Ranking #18

Last Week’s Score 85pts
Utkarsh was another of our top five to captain Clint Dempsey and with Huth his other double gameweek player, gained a fantastic 46 points from the two. Doubling up on the Chelsea defence paid dividend, with Terry and Luiz picking up 13 points between them against West Ham. Van Persie grabbed 7 at Bolton, and both Charlie Adam and Wayne Hennessey chalked up 5 each.

Gameweek 35 Preview
Like Patrick, Dempsey-in was last week’s transfer, leaving Utkarsh with one free trade for gameweek 35. Rooney and Nani go head to head with Van Persie and Walcott, and the two Chelsea defenders are joined by Didier Drogba against Spurs. That’s seven players contesting two games. Will they all be risked? Elsewhere, Yaya Toure plays West Ham, Dempsey visits Sunderland and Charlie Adam hosts Huth‘s Stoke.

    Who to play/bench. Current team:

    Foster/Begovic

    Luiz/R Johnson/Coleman/Bardsley/Walker

    Lampard/Dempsey/Walcott/Yaya/Brunt(inj)

    Drogba/RVP/Suarez

My thoughts are to bench Begovic (Blackpool always score, Adam unlikely to have penalty saved)/Bardsley (poor defensive form, though Fulham poor away from home). Walker (expect WBA to score) and Brunt (apparently injured).

    Was going to captain Suarez.

    Thoughts anyone?

Have to play Baird or Walker, Baird for clean sheet chance against weak Sun attack or Walker for assist potential?

Just come back from the allotment and Mrs McLafferty my neighbouring plot she said Oh Mr Mogsy I do like the look of your cucumber; I said well come to think of it your melons are not bad too; she did giggle for some reason I said what she said what I said what what. I would like a bit of your cucumber when its ready I said well let me get amongst your melons and I'll give you some mayonaise for your salad as well; she did giggle I said what she said what I said what what. I then went into my shed for a beer and smoke and she did come knocking on my door and we did swap some melons and cucumber juice well it was a hot day and it did go down well with the beer and the smoke.
