The Weekend Team News

Jack Wilshere is ruled out for several weeks, though Aaron Ramsey is due back next weekend for Arsenal. Robert Snodgrass and Ricky van Wolfswinkel return to training for Norwich. Scott Parker is ruled out for Fulham, who also have concerns over Kostas Mitroglou and William Kvist following international duty. Marouane Chamakh emerges as a strong doubt for Palace, Phil Jagielka is unlikely to make Everton’s cup clash with Arsenal, whilst Laurent Koscielny is a doubt with a hamstring problem:

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere sustained a hairline fracture to a bone in his foot whilst on international duty for England in midweek. Following scans and further investigation by the FA and the Gunners, Arsene Wenger confirmed earlier this morning that Wilshere will be out of action for around six weeks. Wenger had some good news on the injury front today, though, after revealing both Aaron Ramsey and Kim Kallstrom are expected to be available for next weekend’s north London derby trip to Tottenham. Elsewhere, the Arsenal manager also admitted that defender Laurent Koscielny picked up a hamstring problem whilst with France and is “a little doubt” to face Everton in the FA Cup this weekend.

Roberto Martinez has given an update on Phil Jagielka’s hamstring injury ahead of Everton’s cup tie with Arsenal, suggesting that the defender is “very unlikely” to feature at the Emirates this weekend.

Norwich’s injury worries have eased ahead of the weekend visit of Stoke, with Robert Snodgrass and Ricky van Wolfswinkel both returning to training following wrist and knee injuries respectively. Chris Hughton remains hopeful that the pair will come through training without any issues prior to selecting his squad. Meanwhile, the Canaries boss is confident both Joseph Yobo and Martin Olsson are fit to face Mark Hughes’s men after withdrawing from international duty in the week. Leroy Fer, Jonas Gutierrez and Michael Turner remain sidelined.

Tony Pulis has revealed that Marouane Chamakh is a doubt for the weekend. The forward suffered a hamstring injury at Swansea last week and the Eagles boss isn’t holding out much hope of the Moroccan being available, suggesting that Chamakh is “struggling.” Pulis also admitted that there are “one or two other niggles” around the camp and a late decision will be made on their availability.

Reports suggest that Fulham’s January signings William Kvist and Kostas Mitroglou both picked up hamstring injuries whilst away on international duty this week, with boss Felix Magath expected to check on the duo’s fitness ahead of the six-pointer with Cardiff. Magath will decide on Mitroglou’s inclusion against Cardiff after conversing with the club’s doctors. Scott Parker is out of tomorrow’s showdown after sustaining a knee injury in training, Fernando Amorebieta is also unavailable with a muscle problem, whilst Damien Duff may not feature again this term due to a knee injury.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

I like Yoshi -> Chambers, even for a -4. I'm not sure I'd want to jump on the United defender train though. How about keep Evans and ditch him next week for Coleman/Baines? If you're set on United you gotta go Evra, I agree with that, he's so attacking and nailed on.

I'd MUCH rather have Baines than Evra for the DGW, might just be me. My plan is Baines & Aguero in next week for Dann & RVP It seems like a huge upgrade doesn't it? 2FTs.

Fantasy Football Scout Daily Hot Topic

Bit of a hit topic today.

Expanding on Evs's hot topic yesterday about how many hits you are taking this week, he also asks how many hits do you plan to take over the next three weeks (gwk29-31) to take into account the double and this week's shortened fixture list.

Linked to this how many dgwkers do you plan to field in gwk31 and how many do you plan to field this week?

I'm lucky I've got my WC with me - so its going to be 1 hit to get 10 this gw and obviously 11 dgwers when they come.

If I didn't then I'd assume a -8 at the bare minimum, the thing is that most with a dgw are going to be quality fantasy assets in the run in also (most are going to have something to play for)

I'm happy for a hit this week. I'm also happy to take one more for the double in gwk 31. Hits in doubles can be really good and last year one of my big regrets was not taking hits to take advantage.

Ideally I want 8-9 dgkwers. And I'm willing to take hits to achieve that.

I am not even planning to use my FT, I'm saving for the DGW's ahead

I have 8 playing (9 if Ryan Bennett get's an appearance for Norwich)

I want to keep my non playing (SAS, Mirallas, Coleman, Adrian/Manone) - I don't really like the prospects of this weeks game and dont want to hit my funds to be able to massively invest for the DGW.

for the DGW though I plan to get 10-11 players.

Should be 9 DGWers with Hazard and one of Terry/Olsson/Ward for GW31 for a hit, or possibly 10 DGWers for -8 (but it would be for a defender so I don't I'll do it unless it's more of a long term move).

I think getting rid of McShane and Rav this week for -4 is a good a time as any. As you said I should at the worst lose 2pts out what I would of got anyway but there's a chance for more than that and I'll have 2 fit/active players for the rest of the season.

Just taken a -4 , mertesacker and Cazorla out and lallana and Evra in

Feels like good transfers. Expensive defenders won't last for long as Ivan is becoming a 3.9 soon to make funds for Aguero, then Evra will be gone for Ivan after the dgw

So many plans, so little chance of it working out like that

Is anyone else concerned by Adam Johnson?

I know he has 3 DGWs on the horizon but Poyet has hauled him off early the past 2 games (when they needed a goal no less), so I'm worried he's returning to early season form where he hardly played.

Considering going 4-3-3 with Coleman for gw31 and beyond rather than 3-4-3 with AJ.

Yes, think there is almost unjustified belief in his prospects for the run-in to the end of the season on this site, however I hope he does start featuring more prominently and picking up points again as he fits perfectly into my team once i work around the essential players!

I could get Nolan over him but it would mean relying only on Manonne in goal, not sure if that's worth it. AJ and Manonne/Adrian rotation or Nolan and one keeper, as of gw30. What do you reckon?

I would prefer Nolan and Ramsey (when fit) to him at that price range at the moment. I hope he recovers form because he'd be a good asset with 3 DGWs left.

Nolan now and then Ramsey in once Arsenal's fixtures get better is a good shout. Will be keeping a keen eye on Ramsey's stats and game time over the next few weeks.

I would take that hit. Noone or someone in (if he's declared fit). Parker is not a very exciting option and it's nice to have a 5th midfielder for the run-in if he's out for a while.
