With a ferocious Gameweek 32 put to bed we check out the stats that matter in the Sky game using the usual info, including the Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, the bonus point beneficiaries and the current market trends. As always, we also look ahead to the forthcoming fixtures, offering our preferred captain setup for Gameweek 33.

Gameweek 32 Man of the Match Awards

Listed below is a match-by-match breakdown of the players who won the plaudits from the Sky Sports reporters last time out, earning five additional points for the Man-of-the-Match award.

FixtureMoTM
Chelsea vs ArsenalAndre Schurrle
Cardiff vs LiverpoolLuis Suarez
Everton vs SwanseaRoss Barkley
Hull vs West BromShane Long
Man City vs FulhamYaya Toure
Newcastle vs Crystal PalaceHatem Ben Arfa
Norwich vs SunderlandRobert Snodgrass
West Ham vs Man UnitedWayne Rooney
Tottenham vs SouthamptonChristian Eriksen
Aston Villa vs StokePeter Crouch
Arsenal vs SwanseaKieran Gibbs
Man United vs Man CityFernandinho
Newcastle vs EvertonGerard Deulofeu
West Ham vs HullJames Tomkins
Liverpool vs SunderlandPhilippe Coutinho

A fairly even spread of awards this week amongst the attacking positions, with forwards claiming six and midfielders seven – defenders picked up the remaining two. Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is still out in front overall with a total of nine awards, although Luis Suarez (8) and Wayne Rooney (7) are hot on his heels.

Gameweek 32 Bonus Points

Six goalkeepers managed five saves or more this week – Vito Mannone was the only keeper to gather bonus in both his fixtures, further strengthening his position as the king of bonus with 24 additional points accumulated so far.

In defence, a total of 20 players gathered bonus, 15 for tackles and seven for passes completed – full-back Leighton Baines managed tackling bonus twice and centre-back Martin Demichelis picked up both over the two games. Swansea’s Angel Rangel leads the way for defenders with 26 extra bonus points.

In midfield, 26 players earned bonus points – 11 for tackling and 23 for passes. Six midfielders managed to pick up bonus in both games, whilst Cheik Tiote managed tackling once and passing twice to earn himself an additional six points, putting him top of the pile in regards to bonus with 40 additional points.

A reminder that Fantasy Football Scout members can access all the data regarding bonus points using player stats and clicking the Sky Sports tab.

The Transfer Trends

Top Transfers Out

NameTeamValue% of Managers
AdebayorTottenham7.65.78%
NegredoMan City8.64.62%
Van PersieMan Utd103.70%
OzilArsenal8.83.55%
GiroudArsenal8.53.20%

The top four players out have all been suffering from injury or lack of first team opportunities in recent weeks and have consistently featured here, though Olivier Giroud stung his former owners this week popping up with a goal in the 2-2 draw against Swansea.

Top Transfers In

NameTeamValue% of Managers
SturridgeLiverpool9.26.80%
RooneyMan Utd9.64.73%
ToureMan City8.64.31%
BarkleyEverton4.33.60%
SterlingLiverpool4.83.21%

Daniel Sturridge, Wayne Rooney and Yaya Toure have been continuing their recent good form and see their ownership continue to rise. Ross Barkley and Raheem Sterling really have established themselves as the budget midfielders of choice – they often find themselves benched but invariably produce when given the opportunity, offering good value.

Gameweek 33 Proposed Captain Strategy

Looking ahead to the captaincy choices for Gameweek 33 there is an option for three captains if you wish to use a transfer.

Our Strategy:
Wayne Rooney (Aston Villa at Home) → Luis Suarez (Tottenham at Home)

For the fixtures to be played on Saturday 29th, we’re hoping that Rooney brings Manchester United out of their latest slump and acts as the talisman once again as he proved in the West Ham game – if you don’t fancy Rooney’s chances, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard offers an enticing alternative as they face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

For Sunday 30th a switch to Luis Suarez looks an obvious move as they play at Anfield against Tottenham – a side they beat 5-0 at White Hart Lane earlier in the season, exposing their high defensive line to great effect.

Monday night’s game sees Sunderland host West Ham at the Stadium of Light and provides the opportunity for a third captain if you wish to use a transfer – with Adam Johnson perhaps offering the best option.

However, with the following week’s fixtures in mind, we prefer to forgo this option as Sunderland don’t play until The following Monday away to Tottenham.

My starting 11: 1 FT and 1.5M itb.

    Mannone
    Coleman - Azpi - Shaw
    Hazard - YYT - Gerrard - AJ
    SaS - Lukaku

Good enough? Kind of stuck here with AJ. Dont think i can replace him until DGW37. 😮

Start Nolan or Noone and why?

    Leaning towards Noone as

    a) Nolan's form isn't great, plus Mannone at home

    b) West Ham away don't score a lot

    c) West Brom will have Olsson and Lugano at cb and no Jones, serious lack of pace that Noone could exploit

    But is Noone fit.
