It’s Friday afternoon and time to tinker with our Sky teams once again, with only four Gameweeks now remaining. As usual, we take a look at the stats, which include the Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, bonus point beneficiaries and current market trends. As always, we also look ahead to the forthcoming fixtures, offering our preferred captain setup for Gameweek 36.
Gameweek 35 Man of the Match Awards
Listed below is a match-by-match breakdown of the players who won the plaudits from the Sky Sports reporters last time out, earning five additional points for the Man-of-the-Match award.
Fixture | MoTM |
Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa | Yannick Bolasie |
Fulham vs Norwich | David Stockdale |
Southampton vs Cardiff | David Marshall |
Stoke vs Newcastle | Marko Arnautovic |
Sunderland vs Everton | Gerard Deulofeu |
West Brom vs Tottenham | Christian Eriksen |
Liverpool vs Man City | Raheem Sterling |
Swansea vs Chelsea | Demba Ba |
Arsenal vs West Ham | Santi Cazorla |
Everton vs Crystal Palace | Yannick Bolasie |
Man City vs Sunderland | Connor Wickham |
A number of low ownership players made an impact this week, with only Raheem Sterling (at 7.51%) having any significant impact. Christian Eriksen continued his good form with a further MoTM performance this week and the game’s top scorer last season Santi Cazorla also returned to form – with Arsenal’s favorable remaining fixtures, the Spaniard could be a tasty differential for the run in at only 3.48% ownership. A special mention to Yannick Bolasie, who managed to receive the award in both his games, even outshining fellow winger Jason Puncheon according to the Sky match reporters.
Gameweek 35 Bonus Points
Four goalkeepers managed five saves or more this week with David Marshall the top performer, as he earned a clean sheet, save bonus and the MoTM award to earn 14 points. Vito Mannone is the top bonus earner overall with 28 additional points.
In defence, 12 players gathered bonus, nine for tackles and four for passes completed – full-back Marcos Alonso was the player who managed to achieve both. Swansea’s Angel Rangel leads the way for the defenders with 28 extra bonus points.
In midfield, 21 players earned bonus points – nine for tackling and 14 for passes. Kim Kallstrom and Mile Jedinak were the two players to receive bonus twice, while Cheik Tiote and Morgan Schneiderlin are the game’s top bonus earners with 42 extra points.

The Transfer Trends
Top Transfers Out
Name | Team | Value | % of Managers |
Toure | Man City | 8.6 | 20.74% |
Henderson | Liverpool | 6 | 10% |
Hazard | Chelsea | 8.8 | 9.43% |
Sturridge | Liverpool | 9.2 | 9.24% |
Rooney | Man Utd | 9.6 | 2.34% |
Some big names mentioned here as injuries and suspension serve to shake up the template somewhat. Wayne Rooney lis expected to feature this week, though, and, ahead of a mouthwatering run of fixtures, his former owners could live to regret that decision.
Top Transfers In
Name | Team | Value | % of Managers |
Silva | Man City | 8.4 | 12.63% |
Aguero | Man City | 9.8 | 11.13% |
Gerrard | Liverpool | 8.1 | 8.45% |
Nasri | Man City | 6.3 | 4.20% |
Lukaku | Everton | 8.6 | 4% |
Unsurprisingly, Manchester City assets have been targeted most this week, due to their upcoming schedule and also as direct replacements for the likes of the injured pair Yaya Toure and Eden Hazard. David Silva missed the final fixture of the Gameweek with an ankle knock and is expected to be sidelined again for Monday’s visit of West Brom, according to Manuel Pellegrini. Sergio Aguero got roughly 90 mins over the two games and looks a great signing for the run-in if he can return to form.
Gameweek 36 Proposed Captain Strategy
Looking ahead to the captaincy choices for Gameweek 36 there is an opportunity for three captains if you choose to use a transfer.
Our Strategy:
Emmanuel Adebayor (Home to Fulham) → Luis Suarez (Away to Norwich) → Sergio Aguero (Home to West Brom)
For Saturday April 19 fixtures, Emmanuel Adebayor looks the pick of the bunch here as Tottenham host Fulham at White Hart Lane – alternatively Adam Lallana looks a good bet for Southampton’s trip to Villa Park.
For Sunday 20, a transfer or captain switch to Luis Suarez is surely the obvious option – his performances against Norwich have harvested incredible point hauls in recent times and we should expect this game to be no different.
For Monday night’s game, you could use a transfer or captain swap to hand the armband to Sergio Aguero, who looks the safest option and offers potentially explosive returns if he is up to full fitness.
It’s a tough week to prepare for Gameweek 37 with the way the fixtures fall – if you’re set on two or more captains in that week, it’s probably better to end this week on a Manchester United or West Brom player.
