    Morning all.

JWP looking much better than Davis for a 5m mid or too soon to call?

Even though I rate JWP highly and certainly as a much better prospect than Davis, I'm still not convinced of his FPL value. Southampton's attack is nothing what it used to be from the evidence seen so far.

I'd invest in their defence certainly. I don't rate their attack at all though.

Beginning to feel a bit itchy about my h2h match this week (can't believe I'm saying that after my rival captained Lovren!!)

Got 2 FT's this week, definitely need to make a change or two...

    Krul (Elliot)

Cahill - Caulker - Debuchy (Wisdom, Moore)

Fab - Mata - Ramsey - Young (Albrighton)

    Rooney - Costa - Giroud

I feel like Young has to go especially with the near certain addition of Di Maria, but I have no idea what I can do for 5.4 that would be worth using a transfer for. My only thought right now is Ward-Prowse in for Young, with Southampton having a decent run of games against mid/bottom table teams. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Haha 😛 Well I'm somewhat wanted to stick with Debuchy and let Arsenal's defence get full strength again, he did well last week. Definitely gonna wait it out a week or two with Mata. Young is the priority right now just wondering if I can do better with 5.4 than JWP.

Yeah he is 5.5. I could go Mata for Sterling and Young for Ince but I don't want to kneejerk on Mata just yet... I held Giroud and I think it's gonna pay off. Utd's fixtures plus if they do get Di Maria they should have a few more goals in them.

Wish I'd done Sterling and Siggy in the first place. My bloody mate convinced me Liverpool were gonna be shit this season then I look at his team and he's got Sterling right there the cheeky bugger!

    Sigurdsson, Mata, Fabregas, Ramsey, Mutch
    Rooney,, Costa (Long)

Downgrade Debuchy. The question is whether you want to go with 352 or 343. 343 really takes three transfers at minimum at this point.

I never said it was the same interview. The point is what is said in that interview - Rooney vs RVP for example if he were to play 3-5-2, and that they will adapt to 3-5-2 rather than move to a 4-3-3.

But do continue with your complete bullshit 🙂

So what? If 433 is what he wants to play and he gets the players to do so he will. Funny he doesn't mention Mata in that interview. At the beginning of preseason 352 was to utilize him as well. Long and short of it is as the players change so will the system.

45: a stunningly mediocre haul for me, in keeping with the quality of football on fayre (or were we just spoiled by the World Cup?).

Captn Costa with his now customary one-goal-per game: meh
Rambo with his now customary late tap-in: meh
Customary Fabby and Siggy assists: meh
Clean sheet from my premium defender: meh

    Cheap keeper cleaner: nice
0 points from my 4.5 def - oh. That's half a point per game, Chambers you wally!

A Micky Mouser at City tomorrow ain't gonna do much so that just leaves the Roonpig, whom everyone has anyway, so like I say, meh.

If my squad was just one or two players worse I'd Wild Card but it's not quite bad enough - it's just ...... meh.

Indeed. Ivan's on fire but when FLuis is ready and Europe kicks in ....?
Shirley's also on fire but got rotated all the time last season so who knows?
Naismith won't get rotated as such, but as soon as his form dips and Pienaar is fit, even before Barkers is back, he'll be vulnerable.

Ivanovic - Most attacking Chelsea defender from open play, 7.0 is a lot for a defender though.
Schurrle - Loves to shoot, will get goals with regular game time, but not 100% nailed on.
Naismith - Should make a mockery of his price tag if he cements his place in the side long-term, but I wouldn't be comfortable playing him every week, and I wouldn't rotate him as you're bound to leave points on the bench.

Shurrle - Is good enough to keep his starting spot, he's a more natural winger unlike Willian and is good value

Ivanovic - Best player in the Chelsea team, in crazy hot form and making a mockery of his price tag, excellent value

Naismith - Name another 5m attacker doing better? should be nailed on and is an excellent bench option for a 352

Depends on the structure of one's squad. I like to have at least one strong defender and I set a plan at the start of the season to hold all that cash on Ivanovic so I can make an easy straight swap for Baines when their fixtures clear up from GW8

This was a good plan. But why advise people to get Ivan now? Chelsea's fixtures are no better than Everton's with those first two out of the way.

Fixtures are terrible for all of them. By the time Everton's fixtures clear up, Barkley will be back. Ivan is very expensive and Schurrle is a big risk, but both could emerge as good options by the time Chelsea's fixtures are good again.

Seems to me a bit premature to ditch Arsenal defenders (aside from Chambers who will soon lose his spot). I know they looked poor today, but a clean sheet was unlikely anyway. When Koscielny and Mert get a run together, things will soon tighten up. While Debuchy is a bit annoying to watch, he will have a reasonable number of clean sheets and assists I would guess. And some yellows or reds.

I simply trust Chelsea defence more than Arsenal defence, I know they did well last year Arsenal but they don't look as convincing yet. Then of course you watch Ivanovic play and he's almost a second striker. His attacking potential outweighs his defensive potential right now, there aren't many defenders you could put in that category.

    Szczesny
    Debuchy Mertesacker Koscielny Gibbs
    Flamini
    Chamberlain Ramsey
    Walcott Ozil

Too early to say how many starts he'll get. Dirty was awful up top for 45 but too early to judge until he's played a few. Wenger currently seems to rate Wilshire higher than the rest of us too.

I do. But unless Sanchez shows a lot more up front, it almost has to be Giroud. Leaves Ox the odd man out if everyone is fit. Plus Cazorla needs time. Good problems. I think they will be clicking soon. Especially if a defensive centre mid emerges or is signed.
