With the international hiatus almost over, we thought we’d take the opportunity to revisit PlayON to remind you of the new methods of play that the game has recently introduced, ahead of tomorrow’s player picks.

PlayON’s new mechanics are very different to anything we’ve seen in Fantasy Football games to this point but the potential of the strategy involved is promising to say the least.

Daily Games

Last weekend we saw PlayON provide the first set of daily games, allowing us to pick lineups and enter teams for multiplayer games across Saturday and Sunday’s fixtures, in addition to the weekend as a whole.

Selections for daily games are made by first using the dropdown in the left-hand corner of your PlayON dashboard, which shows the current Gameweek by default: this allows you to select either Saturday, Sunday or Monday daily games

You can enter up to three teams for each game – so, effectively, over a Saturday/Sunday weekend programme, you can have nine teams active and can still be picking new teams on Saturday and Sunday.

In-Play Tournaments

Whilst Fantasy managers are well versed with dealing with deadlines, PlayON have broadened their offering to provide In-Play games, which allow us to go on competing for prizes even after kick-off.

PlayON’s team selection deadline is still two hours before the first kick-off of the day or Gameweek. However, once this is passed, you can now jump into In-Play games for one-on-ones and limited entry multiplayer match-ups (3, 4, 5, 10 or 20 player games). You can also opt out of any In-Play game before it fills up using the “unjoin” function.

Adopting Teams

While you may want to meticulously tinker with an array of lineups, PlayON also introduces a new dimension to competing in In-Play games, enabling you to use a lineup created by another user.

This can give you a quick and simple method of joining new games. PlayON even gives you the facility to search for teams which include a particular player or set of players, so, if Wayne Rooney has scored a brace and you want to take his points into an In-Play game, you can search and find a team which includes him and adopt that.

There are layers of strategy to this. In-Play teams can include players who have already played and earned points but, of course, you may wish to gamble on a lineup that includes more players who are yet to play rather than get points in the bank. To see all of this in action, just click into the “Use Other People’s Teams” button on the Matchday page once the team picking deadline passes.

Earning Income From Your Teams

When you adopt another user’s PlayON lineup for In-Play games, they will earn a commission should you win. The flipside of this is that you can earn money from your PlayON lineups if they are adopted by other users. So, if you create three PlayON lineups each week and your selections score well, you could earn an income from your teams without entering any games and with no outlay.

You might, for example, select a team with Danny Welbeck up front ahead of Saturday’s early kick-off with Man City. Should Welbeck score a goal, there will likely be a clamour for PlayON teams that include him in order to bank his points for In-Play games.

Your team with Welbeck will be available to others to see and use and you can set the level of commission you want from other users to use your team. You can also adjust this in real time so after Welbeck scores, you may want to increase it a few percentage points. If others are successful with your team, you will earn that percentage of their winnings.

You can set commission levels from 2% right up to 20% but, of course, the lower the commission level, the more likely your team will be an attractive option for others.

Look out for our PlayON picks tomorrow lunchtime ahead of another round of PlayON games. This weekend there’s a guaranteed £1,000 pot up for grabs in the full gameweek, plus a guaranteed £500 for Saturday’s daily game and a guaranteed £250 pot for the Sunday and Monday daily games. Check them all out at www.playon.co

There are currently 14 players with over 20% ownership:

    Costa - 46.4
    Ramsey - 45.8
    Sterling - 44.1
    Fábregas - 40.4
    Rooney - 37.9
    Sigurdsson - 37.0
    Naismith - 28.9
    Lovren - 28.0
    Vlaar - 25.3
    Sturridge - 24.3
    Dier - 23.5
    Krul - 22.0
    Ivanovic - 21.6
    Debuchy - 20.8

I have 7 of them(Krul, Ramsey, Sterling, Fabregas, Sigurdsson, Costa, Naismith), definition of template I guess?

No not directly, but you can clearly see from his body language and blunt answers that he really wasn't keen.

Also, saying that Welbeck wouldn't be at the club if he was there at the time doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Wenger revealed more a little later in the interview, “The advantage of that day was that I had to wake up at 6 o’clock in the morning, and I was available the whole day.”

Let's put it this way, if Ivan had gone over Wenger's head, and he really didnt want Welbeck, would he come out and say in his first interview that he didnt want Welbeck? Obviously not.

Actually apparently the rumour was that Wenger was interested by only on a loan basis, with the option to buy next summer. So he was interested, just not THAT interested. It's probably to do with his allergy to spending money.

“Danny Welbeck is an ideal signing for us because he can play through the middle, which I think is his best position, but as well on the flanks,”

“His qualities are his team attitude and his pace as well. As you could see with England, his goalscoring too. When you analyse his game you think he has the qualities to play through the middle."

He was interested, but he wasn't interested in a 1 year loan WITHOUT an option to buy. Then a permanent deal became available and he took that option. It's all been twisted.

That was probably a joke becasue people had been claiming it was a Gazidis signing. Or at may be a reference to him being a 'ditherer' in the transfer market.

What is more likely; Arsenal and Wenger have given in to all their principles, we have signed a player Wenger doeant want, there is a divide between Wenger and Ivan and they are airing dirty business in public, or youre under a grave misapprehension?

My reason: IF you are on a WC and have 4 other defenders who rotate well enough to see out the next 5 fixtures, you might as well keep Hutton on your bench to use once his fixtures get easier. You're not gonna waste a transfer on a 4m defender later and I wouldn't realistically ever use Moore/Duff ever anyway so rather have Hutton who I will actually use later.

Theoretically yes. But as FPL changed their algorithm for price rises, there hasn't actually been much movement. Last season it was perfect for that, this season it's much more difficult.

Hi guys what does everyone think? Is Rooney too good to ignore against QPR or should I go with balotelli?

    The options are

    A) Rooney and Dawson

    B) balotelli and Clyne.

    Thanks

Rooney, whilst proven FF material, is playing for a struggling side and may even be dropped deep, whereas Balotelli is leading the line for a high scoring team. I also think Clyne is a far better option than Dawson given fixtures and being nailed on.

So it's an easy choice for me, B all the way.

Rooney for me he's due a couple. Villa are a lot stronger than QPR at the mo.

    I'm at:

    Krul, Mannone
    Ivanovic, Moreno, Rojo, Hutton, Wisdom
    Ramsey, Fabregas, Sterling, Sigurdsson, Boyd
    Costa, Balotelli, Naismith

Maybe Falcao or Rooney over Balotelli? Rojo a risk?

Rojo is a risk yeah. I'd rather go with a Southampton player instead of him, then you can easily afford to get Rooney or Falcao over Balotelli.

Downgrade rojo to pieters/Clyne then do balo > Aguero/Rooney whichever you can afford. Wouldn't do Falcao just yet he's not nailed on vs QPR

    Good evening.
    DDG,
    Wisdom, Cahill, Clyne,
    Lamela, Sigurdsson, Sterling, Ramsey,
    Jovetic, Rooney, Costa

    (Gilks, Marney, Naylor, Coloccini, )

    1ft- 0.7M in the Bank.

Think my main issue here is Jovetic.. He didn't train today.
What would u do in this situation?

Save transfer or bring in Welbeck/Adebayor/Pelle possibly?
Maybe I need an extra week to decide which of those is better.

So my team right now is:

    Begovic - Fabianski
    Clyne - Ivanovic - Shawcross - Moreno - Dier
    Siggy - Ramsey - Sterling - Fabregas - Dyer
    Costa - Pelle - Naismith

I have a wildcard and I want to get rid of Dier and Ramsey and maybe Dyer and Pelle
So for dier I want a 4,5 def and I was thinking wilson or Van Anholt (I'm not afraid of tripling up on stoke)
In Mid I was thinking Zaha. Then I have 17.5 left for a MID and a FW:

    Tadic / Balotelli?
Falcao / Henderson or Chadli or keep Dyer?
Pelle / Gerrard or Lamela or Mirallas or ... Di Maria...?

I think that ramsey's gonna start dipping though. His two goals were kinda lucky and Arsenal are looking shaky. Plus his injury and the arrival of Welbeck I feel if he plays he'll be played too defensive to get many points or goal-scoring opportunities (And all my mates have him so I want to mix things up a bit 😛 )
Also I think that Dier was just a two game week hype and Spurs aren't good enough defensively

This is pretty much the team that I was going to WC to at the start of the week, I've made a few changes since but not by much.
I assume this is a wildcard team that you currently have listed?

      1. BRS75
        • 11 Years
        11 years, 3 months ago

Yes I did it really early mainly to try and earn some money on the players going up over the international break. But I don't want to keep the whole team tbh, I don't have a lot of faith in Ramsey and Dier.

          • Fantasy Football Scout Member

          I ended up going for

          Begovic, Guzan
          Ivanovic, Moreno, Clyne, Wilson, Moore
          Fabregas, Sterling, Ramsey, Gerrard, Siggy
          Costa, Welbeck, Naismith

I think it's a good idea to downgrade Dier if you want the money for someone else as he's pretty much your worst defender. If you don't like Ramsey then Gerrard is a good option as long as you don't want room for Balotelli, otherwise Silva scores quite consistently or ADM could be good. Zaha is a good option instead of Dyer, I like having a decent player as cover for any injuries.

          1. BRS75
            • 11 Years
            11 years, 3 months ago

I've now decided to go for Balo so Gerrard's off the table. Getting rid of Dier leaves 12 for a def and a mid. Not too keen on silva's fixtures or Di maria's positioning at Man U (For Argentina he gets 1 goal and 3 assists at RM but at CM he won't have the same impact). So thinking between Tadic, Cabella (Considering his fixtures and he's Penalty taker and corner taker) or even someone cheap like keeping Dyer. What do you think? BTW dunno if you know but Wenger didn't confirm that Welbeck would start this Weekend.

I have been holding off on my planned Naismith - Balotelli transfer in case of injuries or another Naismith rise. I would hate it if I made the transfer and lost out on the extra 0.1m.

I am starting to get a bit nervous that Balotelli with rise, meaning I couldn't afford the transfer. Should I just do it now? Is it mad to risk a plan for the sake of 0.1m?
