As always on a Friday lunchtime, we analyse the PlayON player price list ahead of tomorrow’s 10.45am deadline. Below we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

This week PlayON has a £2,500 Guaranteed Pot on offer and there is a special promotion for this game: Enter one Team and Get a Second Entry For Free – click here to Enter Your Team 1 and Get Your Free Second Entry . There is also a £500 Winner Takes All Game this week.

Separately, PlayON have been doing a lot of work on their player pricing algorithm over the past few months and next week is the first time this is going to be put live on PlayON.co . The new algorithm prices will be going live next Monday so if you have any thoughts on whether it is a better or worse pricing model, let the PlayON Team know on their Facebook Page or @playon on Twitter.

Goalkeeper – Tim Howard 7.4m
It’s unusual to label a goalkeeper of Howard’s standing a left-field pick but with only a solitary clean sheet for Everton, the American certainly could have had a better start to the season. A home clash against a Villa side that has failed to score in their last three offers a chance for the Toffees defence to find some defensive form and Howard, at only 7.4m, looks a bargain when compared to his pricier team-mates. Southampton have been in excellent form under Ronald Koeman and their dependability at the back has seen them concede just once in front of their own supporters. We opt for Fraser Forster, then, with the Saints stopper setting you back just 7.8m in PlayON as Sunderland make their way to St Mary’s.

Defender – Hector Bellerin
With Mathieu Debuchy injured and Calum Chambers suspended, the young Frenchman looks set for a rare start at home to Hull this weekend. Bellerin is available for just 7.2m as the Gunners attempt to rediscover the resilience that served up 11 clean sheets in front of their own fans in the season gone by. If you’re willing to splash the cash, though, there’s no doubt that Leighton Baines (9.1m) looks a strong contender at both ends of the pitch at home to Villa. As mentioned above, Paul Lambert’s troops have drawn blanks in each of the last three, whilst Baines – despite missing a spot-kick against Man United last time around – has still served up a goal or assist in all but one of his previous five appearances.

Midfielder – Dusan Tadic
We were keen to opt for the Serbian’s team-mate Sadio Mane but with the Senegal international still travelling back from international duties, we’re going to play it safe. Tadic has chalked up three assists in the first seven Gameweeks and, despite failing to score, has so far fired 17 shots – only Raheem Sterling has managed more amongst midfielders. At 8.4m, the summer signing from FC Twente could finally be set to break his duck against the Black Cats tomorrow. It’s difficult to ignore the formidable Chelsea side that sits five points clear at the summit. Eden Hazard has had a relatively disappointing start to the season by his own high standards but has still managed a pair of goals and assists. A penalty against Arsenal in the previous Gameweek reminded us of the Belgian’s abilities and although he’s a little expensive at 10.4m this week in PlayON, an away trip to Crystal Palace could bring home the points once again.

Forward – Papiss Demba Cisse
The Newcastle frontman has so far scored four goals in three appearances this term, earning him the best goal per minutes ratio in the Premier League. With the Magpies hosting a Leicester City side who have conceded seven in their last three, Cisse will be hoping for a third brace of the season, though at 11.0m, he doesn’t come cheap. For only 9.7m, Danny Welbeck looks an excellent value option as Arsenal look to bounce back from the previous Gameweek’s loss to Chelsea. He may have notched just once in the league since joining from Man United but Welbeck is still very much in form – with seven goals in his last nine appearances for club and country across all competitions, he looks set to trouble a shaky Hull defence that have conceded in five of the last six.

Head over to PlayON.coand get your free second entry into the £2,500 game ahead of the 10.45am deadline on Sat morning.

Southampton have extremely good defensive stats and Sunderland have only scored 2 goals away so attacking returns seem unlikely. Add to that that S'oton average 2 goals a game at home and imo the other two seem better picks

      I have the same quandary!

I'm thinking either Moore or Hutton.

Leicester have only conceded 4 goals away from home (the same as city) but have horrible underlying stats. Villa look to park the bus every game but I'd fancy Everton to score more than I would Newcastle (the Toon are under pressure and lack creativity) so I'm edging towards Moore.

Everton v Villa fixture the last 8 times has finished with both teams scoring! Crazy! With a 3-3, and two 2-2 as well so im tempted to go with Hutton's assist potential. There is no doubt, we had not been playing well but Newcastle are slowly but surely picking up. They lie in the top 5 attaking stats so given that moore contributes very little its really between PVA or Hutton. Swaying toward Hutton as i think Soton will put at least 2 past sunderland. PVA has good attacking stats too though and is due an assist or goal. Nightmare! Cheers though for your post!!

Yeah they have been goal fests in the past but this is a VERY defensively set up Villa side now who rarely attack.

I'd stray away from PVA due to S'oton's 2 goals every home game average, great defensive stats and Sunderlands poor away goal scoring record.

It's a tricky one for sure!!

Hi all - I can't seem to settle on my starting line up.

I've made some dreadful decisions recently with benching the wrong players, how does this look?

    Mannone (McCarthy)
Baines (vc) Ivanovic Clyne (Bertrand, Shawcross)
    Downing Sterling Sigurdsson Fabregas (Rodwell)
    Welbeck Sakho Costa (c)

If Costa and Welbeck don't play, Bertrand & Shawcross will slide in...

Thanks, yeah I'm just a bit weary of this whole Sterling-resting situation - don't know if Rodgers would take him out of the equation?

I'm shifting Shawcross soon next week for a 4m 3rd sub - I just don't use him - I've still got £4m in the bank too - might move towards Kun eventually, Sakho's doing great for me at the moment

Defense seems a bit wasteful. Way too much money there. Why have both Clyne and Bertrand if you aren't going to play them when on good fixtures and Shawcross too.

Yeah, I've got myself into very weird defensive situation.

Think I'll phase out 2 of them over the course of the next few weeks for a Sakho replacement - like I say I have £4m in the bank just can't see where to invest at the moment.

I could go 5-3-2 and drop Downing & Sakho... but I've played defenders ahead of outfield player before and got stung big time (Welbeck brace).

Ooooh I'm all in a muddle.

    Manonne // McCarthy
    Baines // Moreno // Clyne // NTaylor // Pieters*
    ADM // Sterling // Siggy // Tadic // Boyd
    Costa // Pelle // Welbeck

Basically, I'm starting to shift funds for Aguero/Sturridge, but not sure it's worth transferring either of Pelle/Welbeck out. Pieters obvs need to go.

    Current ramblings:
This week: Pieters > Tomkins (Who to start then?!)
Next week: Moreno > Kaboul, Tadic > Chadli, Pelle > Kun (-4)

I see your quandary, with fixtures not that favourable (this week) for the players you are looking to get in next to get Kun, so you cant rush any of those through. Tricky, possibly change your keeper as the SUN fixtures aren't great, but the fact is you have a good team this week and passing on the transfer is an option.

Appreciate the reply! Spot on with your analysis. Considering bringing Adrian in for Manonne, and then Chambers in stead of Tomkins. That would cost me -4 though, but I think it might be worth it!

No idea, just posting the info, everyone can take what they want from it.

Ah indeed. JE wearing orange though if that means anything. Surely can't be correct though especially with no Henderson in starting XI.

i could see moreno saved for real madrid as he's already showed he's happy to bring enrique in for the previous champions league game. henderson however is a machine

Henderson's the 1st name on the team sheet every week so wouldn't believe any of that.

    So Costa is a doubt.

That means the (c) for sure, right?

I think this weekend will be big on ultimate. Lots of good captain choices 3 days running (Costa, Sturridge, ADM) could be an important week.

Would you recommend Puncheon out, Sanchez in and Ulloa out and Naismith.

Naismith might have his game time reduced with the return of Barkley so maybe look at another cheap 3rd striker.

My current squad for GW8, need last minute improvements? Got 1FT and £3.8m spare. On 334 points so far.
    De Gea (Mannone)
Bertrand - Ivanovic - Clyne - (Wisdom, Cameron)
Di Maria - Siggurdson - Sterling - Sadio Mane (Moses)
    Costa - Welbeck - Naismith

Also who should my captain be for GW8? Many thanks in advance.

Also still got my wildcard if that helps.

Im looking at him too, need to finally get JWP out and Im looking at either Boyd or Wanyama. Neither will play much for me just need to know they are nailed on so if I need them they can come in...

I went with him and then realised I wanted 3 soton and wouldn't be able to draft in tadic/mane if I wanted, so keep that in mind...

I think this is the issue really. That and the fact that Wanyama isnt that attacking. Its tricky because Boyd should make more sense as he is more attacking but when I have watched him I havent beeen at all impressed.

So still best to (c) Costa, if he doesn't play then VC is vital as he won't come on as sub right?

      (c) Aguero

It depends if you have a good alternative.

I'm going Aguero despite the Costa flag.
