Our Friday regular arrives a little later than usual today, as we analyse the PlayON player price list ahead of tomorrow’s 10.45am deadline. Below we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

PlayON is this week re-introducing tackles, interceptions and clearances to its scoring matrix. It is also reducing the points for clean sheets to 3 per minute played so more weight is put on individual player performance rather than team performance – view the revised scoring matrix here

PlayON is also running a Free Entry, £500 Winner Takes All game this week – which you can enter here.

Goalkeeper – Ben Foster
The stopper looks crucial to West Brom’s chances at home to a Newcastle side that have won their last four in all competitions. Having kept a clean sheet away to Leicester last week, Foster will be looking to defy the in-form Magpies and deliver a fifth clean sheet of the campaign – available for only 6.1m, the Baggies number one, who was the highest scoring keeper in PlayON last weekend, looks an excellent budget enabler. West Ham’s Adrian (6.9m) is another cut-price contender to consider. Granted, the Hammers have been far from convincing at the back and managed a single shut-out this season but bearing in mind visitors Villa have scored once in the last six and are missing the suspended Christian Benteke, Big Sam’s side could be in line to deliver the defensive returns.

Defender – Gael Clichy
The Frenchman is set to continue at left-back for City after Aleksandar Kolarov was ruled out for at least a month with a calf complaint. After starting the last three, Clichy bagged the assist for last week’s winner against Man Utd and, at a price of just 7.5m, he represents a cheap route into the champions defence for their trip to QPR. Having conceded just five times this term, and only once at home, Southampton’s defence is on the radar as Leicester roll up to St Mary’s. Whilst Toby Alderweireld doesn’t offer the attacking threat of his defensive team-mates, at a mere 6.8m he looks excellent value against a Foxes side that have failed to score in the last three.

Midfielder – Nacer Chadli
We call upon the Tottenham midfielder for the second time in three Gameweeks due to his very reasonable price tag. Chadli netted his fifth league goal of the season last weekend, yet whilst team-mates Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela are priced at 10.8m apiece, the Belgian sets you back just 9.0m at home to a Stoke side that have shipped six in the last three on their travels. For this week’s essential midfield pick, we return to Southampton. Dusan Tadic (10.2m) has produced a goal and six assists in five home appearances for Ronald Koeman’s side and the Serbian will fancy his chances against a Leicester side with a single clean sheet all season.

Forward – Diafra Sakho
After missing last week’s draw against Stoke with a shoulder problem, the West Ham forward looks set to return in time for a very favourable home encounter against Aston Villa. Sakho has scored seven times in eight appearances since arriving at Upton Park and, at a lowly 8.0m in PlayON this week, looks an absolute steal against a defence that’s conceded at least twice in each of their last six. Sakho’s acquisition also helps to enable this week’s essential striker, Sergio Aguero. At 15.0m, the City forward may be the most expensive player in the game but up against a QPR side that has conceded more goals than any other in the Premier League, it’s difficult to see him not bringing home the points.

One for the Say What... Koeman on Tadic:

“I spoke this morning to him and said: ‘OK, sometimes you have to be a little more egotistic and not look always to give the assist.’ “Against Hull he had the ball at his feet around the box and he played that ball to Steven Davis, but that’s the moment to shoot and he has a fantastic left.

“He can score more goals, I know because he has that quality.”

Here's another for the Say What... Pearson on Morgan:

“I spoke this morning to him and said: ‘OK, sometimes you have to be a little more solid and not look always concede.’
“He can keep clean sheets, I know because he has that quality.”

    Is alexis the real deal?

Currently have two che mids, haz and fab, their fixtures look great. Arsenal's, however, dont look so good.
Is it worth getting alexis in for one of haz/fab??

I'm waiting patiently for Theo to get back.
He'll score more than Alexis, in fact he'll score more than probably any other FPL player.
      And he's 1.7 cheaper than Alexis 🙂

that's the plan I've had from start. Get asmuch money as possible to fit in asmany big names. Catch the price increases sell on at a profit. Worked so far :

              Foster
              Baines, Clyne, Chambers [Wisdom][Moore]
Fabregas, Sanchez, Di Maria, Downing [Boyd]
              Costa, Aguero, Sakho

probably even more extreme in alexis' case. that's the only put-off really. don't think swansea are that strong defensively, but i guess qpr aren't either

The benefit of extra points/bps for Alexis as a mid though. Form player in the Prem, Arsenal scoring well. Could do a lot worse.

He will play at some point. Whether its as partner to RvP with Rooney behind ot as a sub im not sure both are possible. Personally I would prefer scenario 1 with Janusaj benched

Defo someone more nailed. Can't see a cs with that back line anyway. He'd have one game max

    Lineup for Current GW:

    Fabianski
    Coleman Chambers Bertrand
    Di María Downing Fábregas Sánchez
    Diego Costa Pellè Sakho

    Subs: Begovic Sigurdsson Taylor Duff

    1.1 M ITB

    Used FT Shawcross>> Chambers.

Thinking of taking a hit for Sigurdsson>>Chadli but he's on the bench now and makes no sense taking hit for a player if I'm not going to play him. But I like the current lineup w/o Chadli

    A) Do I stick current lineup and forget about Chadli?

    B) Insert Sigurdsson for someone else as I think Swansea may do well at home to Arsenal's leaky defence and swap him out next week? If so, who to take out of lineup for current GW?

    C) Take hit, bring in Chadli and who to remove from current lineup?

    Thoughts appreciated.

Aguero leads for shots (30), efforts in the area (24), attempts on target (16) and touches in the penalty box (54) vs QPR who have conceded more goals (20) than any other team in the league.

Ps Aguero also has the best goal/min ratio in premier league history.

    Hope that helps 🙂

City are away and QPR at home, adjust the values accordingly.

Aguero has scored in 4/5 away games.
QPR concede on average 2 goals at home.

    A) Sanchez & Kane

    B) Chadli & Sakho

which one? 2ft, 0.1m in the bank.

    Krul (Elliott)
    Baines Bertrand Chambers (Wisdom Duff)
    Sterling ADM Hazard Siggy (SDavis)
    Pelle Kun Welbeck

A obv! Sahko and Kane pretty much similar price to score a goal (if Kane starts, which he should). But Sanchez >>>>> Chadli

        That;s assuming it's Sterling/Welbeck for Sanchez/Kane

    Predicament - Play Forster/Bertrand or Foster/Bertrand.

Southampton greater chance of a clean sheet but clean sheet for West Brom last week and 10 pts for Foster. Also there's the spreading the risk argument.

Currently on Foster and Bertrand , should I change or good to do.

    Good to go?

    Forster
    Baines, Cahill, Chambers
    Sanchez, Tadic, Di María, Sigurdsson
    Pellè (C), Agüero (VC), Sakho
    (Mannone, Wisdom, Moore, Traore)

1 free, so Tadic -> Fab and Cahill -> cheapo next week?
