FPL Clarification – The Checklist

There still seems to be some confusion amongst the Fantasy Premier League community regarding a number of elements associated with the changes implemented by the game this week.

To clarify matters, we’ve put together a list of points that has, this afternoon, been checked and confirmed by the FPL.

  • Transfers made this week are all free. Any points deducted from your total will be refunded to you once the Gameweek two deadline has passed.
  • Any Wildcards played in advance of Gameweek two will be returned to players once the Gameweek two deadline has passed.


  • The number of transfers you make in advance of Gameweek two’s deadline will be wiped and reset to zero once the deadline passed. This will mean that they will not count against you and become a factor should you be tied on points with a manager in your mini-league.


  • Price rises are frozen ahead of Gameweek two. Once the deadline has passed all transfer totals that are collected by players will be reset. Therefore, players will need to accrue further transfers in and transfers out next week in order to have their price rise or fall.


  • Gameweek one points will remain in the game and count towards the FPL overall points tallies. Mini-league admins can decide to reset their mini-leagues to start on Gameweek two should they wish. In the interest of those managers unable to log in and make changes prior to Gameweek one, Fantasy Football Scout will reset their mini-leagues accordingly.

          Tricky... I have got 2 "big hitters" in def, mid & for and will rotate my mid and def. You have 1 big hitter in each (and Bent, although I'm also counting Suarez and a hitter) and it appears your team is weak.

          I'd upgade your def as the mid may well come good and rack you bucket loads in price rises.

    If you're still there Mark, will we be seeing another article on the PPI point system soon? Monday’s article said there’d be another to follow later that day, which would “break down the bonus in full”, but the FPL apology obviously took centre stage after that. Still, I’d be very interested in that kind of analysis if the article is done!!!

        Yeah, it took a while for them to be added, but some players now have minus PPI points! Buzsaky on -14, Taarabt -11, Carroll on -10!

    What do people find is most irritating about this type of fantasy footy game? I've already discovered the frustration of having a benched player score the most points in my squad :/ I fear there's plenty more of that disappointment to come...

      when your opponents make the STUPIDEST decisions EVAR and they get rewarded for it. for instance, my friend actually thought stoke city, bolton, aston villa AND newcastle would keep clean sheets. what a lucky fool.

      PS : he captained given, despite jol confirming that they would play a very attacking style this season.

        Yeah that's familiar. Last year in TFF my rival was convinced that transfers were best used at the end of the season. He saved them up and filled his team with Man City defenders in May. They kept clean sheets for the last 3 matches and his team beat me after spending the season in second place.

      Having aguero as captain, when it was 100% certain he would not start and would get half hour at most.

      Rescued about 5 teams in my league who would have had very poor scores otherwise, guess it'll even out over the course of the year though

    Considering swapping Malouda for Cahill, Given for Hilario and upgrading Micah Richards to Leighton Baines (Everton should do well against QPR and they have a DGW coming up). Good moves?

      Do you mean taking Given OUT for Hilario IN?

      I remember getting Stockdale in last season (even though I think he got a fair amount of game time) and Foster a few seasons back for United when VDS was injured, and getting him out when the number 1 came back was just a big pain in the ass, I would forget about Hilario where Cech is only out for 3 weeks, month and a half, two months maybe I would consider it, but it inevitably means having to re-jig your team in a couple of weeks with a forced transfer to get a keeper that plays, not worth it, it seems like a good idea right now, but I think you will regret it.

      Malouda OUT Cahill IN on the other hand isn't a bad move.

        Cheers mate, Cahill will score loads of points in a GW or do nothing, he doesn't seem to score in the middle ground but does well over the course of a season, good shout

        Difference here though Johnny is the availability of a wc. I also got stuck with Stockdale but I imagine many peeps will play the first wc around the time Cech returns.

      Getting Hilario will obviously cost you a transfer in a few weeks, but may pay off short term.

      Malouda to Cahill and Richards to Baines seem good moves

    Evening everyone, few quick questions to assist with my (second) final team! I have decided to go with a big front 3, which obviously impacts on the rest of the side.
    1/. Chelsea defence – are Alex and Bosingwa nailed on for the foreseeable?
    2/. Best 4.5 midfielder? I have currently got N Dyer but thinking about Fox.
    3/. Is Ramsey worth a shout or is there a better mid in the same price bracket?

    Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.

      Think Luiz is back in training next week so Alex may be dropped soon, Bosingwa seems to be no.1 right back, played there most of preseaon but Ivanovic is a more defensive right back, which may be preferred with cech out. Alex/bosingwa should both play this week I think.

      Not a lot of value for 4.5 mil midfielders, if you've not got moses possibly get him for 5 mil and downgrade ramsey to a 6mil, such as brunt, jarvis, sinclair

      Arsenal seem to be struggling, would give it a few weeks before investing there.

    Larsson - Sinclair - Silva - Malouda / N'Zogbia (Moses / Tiote)
    Torres / Bent - Rooney - Holt

    I really don't have any preference. Flip a coin or is one of them much better than the other?

    Is anybody on here putting Ferguson of Newcastle in midfield to free up some cash?

    My defence has a consistent base across the board, I have 3 top strikers, and 4 good midfielders so can afford to easily switch to 433 with an injury.
